Thanks for the list REZA. I think you`ve included many of the best female japanese guitarists in it. The only ones I missed, was NARUMI (ex. Destrose, Disqualia, RAMI band, guest in Fate Gear, maternity replacement in Aldious for TOKI and solo albums). She is an extraordinary good guitarist and very adjustable, but haven`t had any longtime engagements recently in any of the more well known bands, where she`s only made guest appearences. That`s probably why people tend to forget and underrate her. Another one is Captain MINA from Fate Gear (ex. Destrose), she also belongs on this list. She is an icon of japanese female heavy metal, and has been around since the early start with Destrose. The last one is the up and coming SAKURA from Hagane. She is still young (though not as young as LISA-X), but she is so good and has gotten better every time I listen to Hagane or her guest appearences and guitar covers. One good example is the naonのyaon 2019 festival shredd battle at the end, where she held her own shredding it with 4 other guitarist from your list (SAKI, YASHIRO, MIYASZAWA and AYUMI). This is of course all a matter of opinion and taste, but I share your taste in the ones you`ve listed just with these 3 added😃 All in all I think we should be very grateful for all those fantastic japanese women, who singledhandedly keeps heavy rock, metal and punk alive with their fantastic musical abilities. The japanese female scene is really the best in the world (in my humble opinion)💕, and there is nothing even close to this on any of the very boring western scenes right now.
@@teikpohsee5356 Yes thank you I do know ASAKA and Trident even from back when they called themself Girls Rock Band Kakumei. It`s also one of my favorite bands, and they are all good musicians, even though JUNNA tended to be the most famous and impressive with her eksplosive drum style, until she left in 2020. Her replacement NAGISA isn`t bad either, and the bass player SERINA is also really good. There are so many talented female rock musicians in Japan right now, so you could make a top 100 of all the best and still miss some😃
Sakura Yoshida is my favourite. I'm no musician so I can't judge her skill, but I grew up with bands like Helloween, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius and Hammerfall. Her music reminds me a lot of them and that's why I love her work.Edit: it's a shame this list doesn't even mention her. She has a guitar model named after her, for crying out loud! (The VYSK)
Great list man. There's a lot great female guitarists in Japan who are skillfully and talented. And my favorite from all of them is Kanami. Maybe she's not one of the fastest and most technical guitarists, but definitely she's one of the best guitarists with feeling and soul in their playing. She also good for playing piano, songwriting, composing and a good guitar teacher for other BAND-MAID guitarist, Kobato Miku.
My goodness the talent in Japan is amazing!!! Japan is a leader in so many things and when they learn something they absolutely conquer it. These are some baaaaad women killing those guitars!! I love it!!

Kanami is easily my favorite. The others are great players, but to me, extremely technical isn't always the way to go. I need to see Band-Maid when they come to the states again!
Wow!!!! Your top 3 are the same as mine. To me Miyako and Kanami are both #1! I knew they would be in the list but I kept saying to myself, where is Yuki and there she was. There are some I have not heard of, I will be checking them out today. Thank you.

Kanami is my favorite, she shows you don't always just have to play fast, but instead creates solos and such that enhances the song. I respect the skills of the others as well.
What makes you think that Kanami is the only one who creates solos that enhance the song? Also let's not act like there is something wrong with being able to play fast. The best guitarist can do it both ways. Versatility is a strength.
I don't think it's her solo skills that make her good. She does it very well. I love her for her riffing, and her ability to play around Misa and Akane.
@@andreaspedersen3952 She doesn't really have some of the technical skills that say Miyako and Midori have, but she does a good job for basically being the only guitarist in her band. Also, she's very lucky to have a bassist like Misa to round out the sound.

Great list, I love the double M Miyako & Midori, they have track record played hardcore/metalcore and rock before joining Lovebites. Not only power metal & Thrash metal, The fact that they can compose hardrock, groovy songs and some ballad.. you can find it in the Lovebites albums. Maybe interesting to see another guitarist on the list to compose or write power metal and thrash metal.
Midori is my favorite guitar player at the moment. While so many guitarists are still held back by speed and technique, Midori turns note selection into an art form. Every solo an adventure... throw in some serious rhythm picking and you have the blueprint for metal guitar.
Kanami Tono, Kanamincho, Mincho of Band-Maid is my favorite. Her feel is amazing, not the fastest shredder but her solos are very melodic and fits their songs perfectly. Kanami is also a master composer for Band-Maid. BTW all girls in this video are amazing players.

I didn't recognize it as scarified. 9 - With blue guitar has on very sexy clothing, The 70s vibe of the room they're in is only shattered by the peg board to the left behind the sofa.
I've been following Li-Sa-X since she was little tiny thing playing a guitar as big as she was. She's a great player now and it's been fun to watch her grow up.
I can see why he left her off the list, though I love her as a musician. I think Mami's strength is more as a songwriter with wonderful musicality; as an instrumentalist tho it's hard to put her in the top tier with these other women.
@@drogonr9318 Watch her shred on her Gretsch White Falcon on BURN live at Budokan. THAT is top tier. Also, there is more to playing than just speed burns. These girls are all fantastic guitarists and Mami-chan is right up there with them. Likewise, Tomomi kicks hard on bass. And, Haruna is among the best rhythm players anywhere.
I'd put Miyako against anyone. She makes it look effortless every time. As a package, the 3 Ms (Miyako, Midori & Miho) are as good as it gets since Smith, Murray & Harris (Maiden). Back in the day, Maiden / Helloween did their thing (power metal) and the big 4 (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer & Anthrax) did thrash. LB can do both which I have never seen before and throw in a touch of dragonforce while you're at it; and it's due to their guitar talent and Haruna of course. Going from Swan Song w/Chopin intro to Break The Wall...c'mon, who can pull that off? I know this was an individual ranking...Miyako all the way, and I look at the bigger picture...what the band can do as a whole. My two cents.
Kanami is of course a given for the top three, but I really think HAL-CA should be up there as well. If you combine not only technical skill, but songwriting and showmanship as well, I can't see how anyone can beat HAL-CA. You really didn't pick a very flattering clip of her for this video. If anyone is curious, this is her on stage (with a song she wrote at age 15): th-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/w-d-xo.html

Where is Sakura Yoshida, or Mayto?
The one who produces the sound I like the best is Saki, followed by Miyako, and Kanami.
Soundwise I prefer Hazuki over Saki. How tastes can differ.
Yuki Uozomi 2:01 married and had child 2018. She has been out of the business since then.
1 Miyako/Midori 2 Hal-ca 3 Saki
Miyako dan Midori from group lovebites. My favorite Japanese female guitarists
They are all Great!!! I Love#9,8,7,6,5,And 4 I'm So Glad He Mentioned Yoshi #8 She's My Favorite! She Seems To Have a True Understanding of Music Like SAKI! And Of Course Dream Wife YUKI!!!
Harusnya ada Rumi min dari zestria/Holderlins dan sekarang di Rebellious streak
アステリズムのハルカさんはもっと上だと思うし、ランクインしてないが、よしださくらさんはこの中でもトップクラス
Well what can you say? Seems this list sums everything up with a nice bow, I could work all day and not change a thing about it, spot on, and as for the western music maker's, maybe you should look in this direction and get back on course instead of the garbage 🗑️ that's being put out.
Huh. You left out Sakura Yoshida from Hagane and Hanako from Octaviagrace?
Yeah, Sakura is awesome too!
Hal-ca rules!
Not yet. She's very young.
@@ChrisPage68 True but she is a prodigy. She is already evolving. You heard her latest stuff? It's fusion.
Whatever the hell is going on in Japan, we need that world wide.
It isn't fair, that many amazingly skilled smoking hot guitarists all in Japan.
Team Saki
Narumi 😭
