@@alicemad5354 oh yeah, absolutely. Though, what probably plays into that confusion is that he only started being with you to manipulate you and he didn't think that you'd fall hard enough for it to pass up something real with someone else.
sad, but also understandable from bg3 lore point of view - he's not the strongest, bravest or trust-worthiest, he's shady and very grey-zone morally, he's also self-aware to know all of that. Funny though, he never bothered speaking up when I was romancing him and Gale in another playthrough - probably thought Gale is much less of a threat to him xD
@@beardiemom oh, that makes sense! although i recall to have done both initial magic trick and then stargazing with Gale and Astarion remained indifferent. I think at one point of ignoring exclamation mark above Gale he just "blows up" figuratively speaking and declares that he's now bitter ex-boyfriend since I've chosen Astarion. Earlier I recall if you ignored Gale long enough you could continue romancing them both in Act 3 (to an extent), but perhaps this was patched up, so now Gale is just mad you pick Astarion and dump him without as much as a word.
the fact that he later confesses that he was manipulating you, but still asks here "if that's truly what you want" (it's his recurring theme in general - consent) 💙
@@amistielShowing up in her outfit (and in my case with her headpiece) is the least confusing part of reunion, considering Durge and Orin are sisters (by Bhaal’s POV), aunt/niece and cousins at the same bloody time and want to murder each other for a of their „father” (in Durge’s case literally) - the God of Murder…Imagine Durge having a kid and that kid getting an assignment to draw his/her family tree…😶

I was romancing both him and Lae'zel, then we visited gith creche, so her story progressed as well and entered act 2. Upon going to rest Lae'zel triggered her fight/love scene and right after I went to talk with Astarion - this convo triggered. (PS - when I was romancing Astarion and Gale - only Gale would trigger such convo, it seems Astarion was fine being in 3-way as he didn't view Gale as a threat :))))
This dialogue is triggered when you are romancing Astarion and someone else and become exclusive with the other character before you become exclusive with him. With Lae'zel that seems to be at the creche, with Wyll after you dance with him in act 2, with Karlach after she becomes touchable and with Gale after reaching Moonrise. However, since you meet Araj at Moonrise and Astarion takes priority over Gale, you are unlikely to get the dialogue about Gale.
@@barnacles1804 i didn't try it, but I do not think so - since then his romance is triggered instead and he starts his confession :D however that's something to try out in another playthrough for sure, especially (when and if for once) i will not be aiming directly to romance him (not as prime option)
Funnily enough he would say only let you have Halsin alongside him. If you let him ascend, he will demand that you make a decision. Though i wonder, what if you don’t let him ascend? Will still be exclusive?
I dunno, I let him ascend and he was totally chill with Halsin, then we all went on our merry way to Sharess's caress and got an exciting "team building exercise" with two drows 🤩😍 then Halsin totally shocked my socks off with his tragic backstory, like daaaamn 🤨 I just know that Astarion drops you as soon as you try to romance Minthara, but otherwise he didn't insist on choosing anyone until my second play-through (before Gale made a scene and I had to drop him, now Astarion was inquiring about Lae'zel, so I had to drop her)🤭
