    With the collagen supplement is it fine to take it all at once or spread it out throughout the day?

    • @GarageStrength
      @GarageStrength  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would spread out across day. It mixes well with hot drinks like coffee and tea. I recommend scoop with morning coffee and scoop with non caffeinated tea post workout

    for any endurance athlete my go-to raceday PR formula is
    1 scoop Pre-JYM pre workout (or any quality pre workout )
    1 gram l-carnitine
    200mg CoQ10
    1 gram Betaine(TMG)
    2 gram Astralagus root powder (this will increase your uptake of the pre workout SUBSTANTIALLY)
    these were all the best "active ingredients" i found in the HAMMER Nutrition lineup but they're a super expensive brand so i just blend my own now

    You do not need supplements. Eat steak, chicken, turkey, tuna, salmon, eggs, beans, brown rice, quinoa, fruits and vegetables. Coffee and water and lots of different nuts. Eat raw garlic, tumeric, ginger, drink lemon water cinnamon and honey. Eat alot of berries. Also 1tbsp to 2tbsp of olive oil a day. Chia seeds are good for energy too. Guys long time ago did not have supplements and were beasts during Roman and medieval times. Get plenty of rest as well.

    • @nathanplant9893
      @nathanplant9893 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I agree. I’ll add for plant based folks, lots of nuts, beans and legumes.

    That amount of Creatine needs a ton of water backing it, would be important to mention that

    • @anthonymarconi761
      @anthonymarconi761 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      definitely, as solubility is not amazing. That said, it works with accumulation so you can also spread the dose during the day, you don't have to ingest the 10g in a single sitting (doing so may give some people GI discomfort on top of that)

    • @EdwardsNH
      @EdwardsNH 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anthonymarconi761 That's not what he means. That amount of creatine is approaching an amount that will damage the kidneys unless you hydrate like crazy. ER docs will back that up.
      Creatine is very safe in sane doses. 10g seems excessive, but I think it's not too high for people with healthy kidneys

    • @BenSwoloest
      @BenSwoloest 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EdwardsNH athletes should be taking huge amount of water anyway.

    • @PlayshotKalo
      @PlayshotKalo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EdwardsNH yeah basically you have to double your water intake when taking 5g of creatine per day. I’m an underweight, petite little lady and I’d have to drink about a gallon of water per day on creatine. A lot of that water stays in my body unless I drink a bunch of coffees (or other diuretics) and the bloat of all that water intake makes me lethargic as hell

    Basketball?? I find it tough to build new muscle since I’m always playing and it’s a very glycolytic sport so when I’m focusing on lifting and basketball my muscles never keep the pump. I am strong and can rep 225lbs on the bench but I’m not getting bigger. I’m 170lbs and want to get to 180 with out messing up my stomach

      Focus on giving him a complete diet of whole foods. Perhaps a grass fed protein shake if you can’t feed your athlete enough protein through diet. Beef, eggs, Greek yogurt, lentils and beans with whole grain brown rice, oats, green teas, peanut butter, milks, cheese. And make sure your athlete gets at least 30 minutes of sunlight a day for healthy growth hormone production. And at least 8 hours of sleep per day.

      You can also get your athlete’s blood work done to see if they have any deficiencies, and supplement those.
