With these very nuanced topics often the problem is that we are asking the wrong question. Creatine definitely improve strength, mass and conditioning because it increase muscle cell volume and promotes higher intensity training capacity. If you are not training at higher intensity its mostly a waste of money. The T incresee is coming from the metabolic effects of high intensity workouts and higher muscle mass which is promoted by creatine. So the effects are indirect and very powerful. no supplement will directly increase testosterone especially in sedentary individuals or endurance athletes who generally have depressed T, HGh immunity etc.

Supplements alone are not enough for increasing T and keeping it high. You need a holistic approach. A lot of men today have suboptimal levels of testosterone; a lot less than their fathers or grandfathers had just 30-50 years ago. There are various reasons for this. One factor that is oftentimes neglected is endocrine disruptors in our environment (i.e., xenoestrogens, BPA, phthalates, triclosan, etc.), phytoestrogens in food (i.e., soy, which is present in almost all processed foods), and hypothyroidism (subclinical or autoimmune Hashimoto's disease). To increase testosterone levels naturally, including libido and erection quality, and reduce chronic inflammation: • Get enough daily sunlight. • Vitamin D3 (especially during the winter or if you live in a northern climate). • Zinc picolinate (20-40 mg per day). • Magnesium glycinate/citrate. • Resistance training (3-5 times per week for 45-90 minutes max). • Adequate neuromuscular recovery (e.g., don't overtrain). • Adequate (quality) sleep. • More healthy fats (monounsaturated and saturated fats from sources like grass-fed red meat, pasture-raised eggs, fatty fish, organic full-fat dairy, coconut fat, avocados, cocoa butter, certain nuts and seeds, etc.). • Increase dietary cholesterol intake through nutrient-dense, whole foods. Cholesterol is the building block of all steroid hormones, including androgens such as testosterone. • Manage stress. Do what you have to do to keep it under control (i.e., meditation, yoga, nature walks, relaxing music, massage/reflexology sessions, adaptogenic herbs, etc.). • Chronically elevated cortisol levels disrupt the HPT (hypothalamus-pituitary-testicles) axis and deplete your body of the very resources it needs to produce androgens like testosterone and DHT. • Eat enough quality calories (not all calories are the same!). • Avoid large or prolonged calorie deficits. • Eat adequate amounts of each macronutrient (protein, carbs, fats). All of them are important in their own way and serve specific physiological functions. Beneficial Supplements: • Shilajit • Ashwagandha • Maca • Taurine • L-Carnitine (increases androgen receptor density) • Creatine • Tongkat Ali • Fadogia Agrestis • Black Ginger • Pine pollen (contains natural androgens) • Boron (increases free testosterone) • DIM (natural anti-estrogen) "The Testosterone Advantage" by Timotheus Ray is a nice read on male health and hormone optimization.
I absolutely love creatine and I swear it saved my life since starting two years ago! Before I started taking it, I was slow and lethargic. Within weeks my energy improved significantly. The way I feel between now and then is night and day. I prefer HCL over monohydrate though I microdose the latter.
Great video doc. Will this in any way make BPH worse if you have a mild case of it or help it. Keep up the great work with your videos. I am 65 years old I just started taking creatine
I would say that creatine may help boost T levels in an indirect way. If someone is restricting calories & uses the creatine to give the muscles energy to lift weights, the weight lifting would be what increases the T - just that the individual may not have had the energy stores to work their muscles as hard without the creatine.
All test boosters are a waste of money for any guy that has average to good levels. Higher "T" boost from proper sleep quality and time, active lifestyle, morning sunlight, hydration, nutrition, reduce stress, avoid alcohol, smoking, drugs..... And ensuring (testing) all micro nutrient levels are correct (boron, selenium, zinc, magnesium, manganese, iodine,.....).
Why is all the testing done on younger men? Why not do the testing, of testosterone boosters, on men in their 60's and above? They are the ones who need it most. .
Creatine helps directly via increasing endurance and decreasing rest time between sets, but no connection to testosterone levels. It is another matter that if one loses fat as a consequence of diet/exercise, T levels may rise due to lower sequestration in adipose tissue.

Give it 2 months and I dare you to come back to this thread not satisfied. 💪😎

What's your take on creatine possibly increasing prostate size? I have BPH and have stop using it on the off chance that it may impact my prostate. Not taking any chance.
Dr. Malik, I once took creatine as a supplement but my levels were high, per blood work. At 53 my kidneys function fine (knock on wood) but my levels remain high although I no longer take the supplement and drink water regularly. I found I had better muscle tone when on it. Am I at a real risk to damaging my kidneys if I take the recommended daily amount for fitness?
I am a 69 year old prostate cancer survivor. Due to that I don't want to increase my testosterone levels, but I do work out still so I was intrigued about creatine for exercise and its cognitive benefits. I'm just not sure it is safe for me to take, do you have any thoughts?
I have been going to my local gym for years. I have tried adding Creatine several times. After a week or two I would get muscle cramps at the gym. I would stop taking the Creatine and the cramps would stop. I think a good diet works for me. I don't need the side effects.

Avoid deficiencies. Complete whole diet. A bit of everything. Varied and balanced. Treat your whole body. Any imbalances will affect testosterone. Observe a natural cortisol cycle. Maintain a lean physique. No bulk and no low bodyfat
Water retention is a side effect? Well, that is why bodybuilders use creatine, I did it too and it worked. It withholds water in muscles so bigger muscles can lift more weight.
Never heard of creatine boosting testosterone. I don't really see it clearly do anything for me, but take it for lift performance insurance so I can go to my one rep max with more drive time.
It completely killed my appetite . took 2 months to get it back . At close to 60 I thought that it might help keep some muscle . If you aren't hungry it won't help .
I take Creatine supplement, along with Citrulline which has a mild benefit for blood flow during sex, I also take Viagra or Cialis. I was diagnosed (I am 75) with low grade slow growing prostate cancer. I was for over 30 years on testosterone supplement. My endocrinologist cancelled my testosterone approval. This left me weak, tired with chronic reduction in muscle health and reduced will to do things at all. I was desperate so Creatine and Citrulline have had a modest but noticeable benefit. I have over the past 7 months adapted to my condition, I had to give up sea kayaking due to lack of energy and strength. I am planning on returning to this activity soon. This has been a huge shock to my ability to fight the aging process. But I fight on! Aussie tenacity!
Hard to understand why Dr. would discontinue a 30 year med due to P cancer. In my opinion, reaching 75 years of wisdom includes the choice of feeling well and remaining active verses the alternative. But I am only an opinion.

Creatine decreased my libido everytime I started to taking it. I tried like 4-5 times and everytime I observed this effect. Lots of people had the same problem (Reddit)
How about Tribulus? Can you comment on that? Effects and side effects? I see that not many have much to say about it, yet it is a powerful supplement for those who do high intensity activities or sports. Thank you!
I found an increase in libido with tribulus but not sure about effects on testosterone. Maybe useful just for the confidence boost of feeling invincible? lol
Seen some studies on Creatine and taurine that are looking good I've been taking this combo for a while but not long enough to give any real advice on it
If it's helping muscle growth and recovery time, would it not indirectly help testosterone. We all know muscle strength helps testosterone and over exertion in the short term can tax your testosteron levels.
I had my testosterone checked because I had low energy, mental fog and had insomnia. My level was around 245 ng/dL and I've taken Creatine for years. So it really doesn't increase test levels at all. I've been on TRT for about 4 months now and my levels are in the 900's. I feel good again and finely have the energy to get back into the gym.
@@ladrondecorazones8432 Most people get better sleep on TRT, But me? Not really. But Insomnia seems to run in my family on my dads side. I fall right to sleep but I get micro sleeps. I sleep for about an hour at a time and wake up often for no reason. So I get about 4 hours of sleep a night, Still trying to figure this out. But most people say that sleep is much better, just not me.
I would imagine Creatine/Zinc etc are more effective in older individuals with symptoms of low energy low testosterone, loss if strength etc...increasing protein intake along with Zinc , Creatine etc will be beneficial. If however you are in good health and younger you would likely get some benefit but not a real testosterone increase..
Curious if giving to teenagers would be harmful due to the body trying to regulate during puberty and adding suplements might alter the normal process of the body to regulate the endocrine system. I'm speculating based on our bodies desire to reach homeostasis and will often adjust normal physiologic occurances if the body is reaciving outside influence. For instance if there is a rise in a particular level from supplements would the body then reduce it's naturally occuring secretion due to it sensing there is enough already present. Thereby screwing up the body during puberty and missing the setting of the natural clock of the endocrine system. Then when going off the supplement the body is not able to compensate due to puberty being over. I know lots of high school kids get on this and I hope it's not effecting them long term.
What's increasing testosterone in these cases is more likely the actual exercising and not the supplement. The very fact that these people are probably more inclined to be active is 'the Elephant in the room'.
🤔Creatine hmm it's the Male PMS inducer since 1996. Testosterone booster? Tongkat, Fadogia, "Possibly" Cistanche. Libido booster Tribulus, Fadogia, low dose DHEA. Space them out for the old Cement Mixer.
Creatine is the best supplement available in the market - it offers so many benefits it's unwise not to consume it if you can. Now, I believe it may boost testosterone indirectly, as it helps muscle growth and recovering, but not directly.

Complete guide to testosterone by james Francis
Top 5 to do’s from his book?
I take the recommended Creatine Monohydrate dosage of 5 grams each day . I think I am doing ok .
It completely killed my appetite . took 2 months to get it back . At close to 60 I thought that it might help keep some muscle . If you aren't hungry it won't help .
I find creatine is good for having less skin wrinkles. I noticed i have less wrinkles on face
How old are you
So it increases DHT? So it can cause balding in DHT sensitive men🤔
Creatine by itself may not increase Testosterone. However, it enables the building and maintenance of muscle which does increase Testosterone.
@@JCHAN-qd3rz The belief is that testosterone feeds cancer, end of story. I would have signed a waver, taken full responsibility to continue. I just have to live without it.
You are in Australia. Find a practitioner who gives Mediherb supplements. Might make a huge difference if you test for Tribulus or something else that can help.
@@lawdog369 Thanks.
@@barryroberts2474 good luck. Many chiropractors have Mediherb. But get a holistic check with nutrition to see where the energy drain is coming from.
It does but indirectly.
Can you cycle creatine or just keep taking it
Creatine decreased my libido everytime I started to taking it. I tried like 4-5 times and everytime I observed this effect. Lots of people had the same problem (Reddit)
Same here. EQ went south!
Great information 🎉
U should make a video on how to stop dht from creatine...bcoz I experience hair loss on creatine...pls doc🙏🙏
How about Tribulus? Can you comment on that? Effects and side effects? I see that not many have much to say about it, yet it is a powerful supplement for those who do high intensity activities or sports. Thank you!
Used it for months , nothing changed ,waste
I found an increase in libido with tribulus but not sure about effects on testosterone. Maybe useful just for the confidence boost of feeling invincible? lol
Between hmb and leucine which one is the best to take
Creatine Loading is rough, be ready to find a bathroom. I started off taking smaller doses for 4 weeks a let it build. Easier on the body.
Will creatine increase my DHT levels
Could similar benefits be achieved through a high protein diet?
Creatine may not affect testosterone but may increase endurance during the act?
im missing something, Tried crreatine. Defintly felt stronger in the gym, but i got thick and water- bloated looking with extra love handles...
is there any relation between enlarge prostate (BPH) and the consumption of creatine?
I take adro gel 4 low t in my 50s works great with minimal side effects!
Seen some studies on Creatine and taurine that are looking good I've been taking this combo for a while but not long enough to give any real advice on it
What about teens is it safe and dose weight age or hight matter?
is optimum nutrition micronized creatine good? or its just popular?
If it's helping muscle growth and recovery time, would it not indirectly help testosterone. We all know muscle strength helps testosterone and over exertion in the short term can tax your testosteron levels.
Can you take creatine with BPH enlarged prostate? I’ve read where it will make symptoms worse.
Dr Malik, what do you think about Redox Signaling Molecules?
Doesn't DHT cause hair loss?😮
I had my testosterone checked because I had low energy, mental fog and had insomnia. My level was around 245 ng/dL and I've taken Creatine for years. So it really doesn't increase test levels at all. I've been on TRT for about 4 months now and my levels are in the 900's. I feel good again and finely have the energy to get back into the gym.
@@johnbarnett2804 mine is 600 naturally at 40 but I'd love to see what I'd feel like at 900 or 1000
Is your sleep better on TRT?
@@ladrondecorazones8432 Most people get better sleep on TRT, But me? Not really. But Insomnia seems to run in my family on my dads side. I fall right to sleep but I get micro sleeps. I sleep for about an hour at a time and wake up often for no reason. So I get about 4 hours of sleep a night, Still trying to figure this out. But most people say that sleep is much better, just not me.
@@johnbarnett2804 Thanks!
I am 41 and my creatinine level is 1.33 . Its harmful for kidneys??? Can i used creatine?? Pls reply asap.
Any way to make 1 litre of testosterone evey day in my body ?
No creatine and no little blue pill for this guy! Hot blooded Italian always stand up and ready!
😂
Me and my wife looking for a well hung guy to play with.
I'm vegetarian should I take creatine? I read that it causes prostate growth any truth?
There's very few side effects, digestive is the most common but you can split it through the day and take it with a meal.
Still hoping to learn about pharmaceutical interventions for delayed ejaculation syndrome ❤
How about hair loss? Is it placebo or for real?
I read t hat gonadal tissue pulls cholesterol (shoulder it need it) from HDL and not ldl .. is this right?
I am taking 5gms from last 6 days before workout and see that I get angry and frustrated very soon. Is it good?
It's not the creatine
Creatine monohydrate 🏁
man my body itches crazy when i take beta alanine
Her husband is a lucky man. 🥰🥰🥰🤩😍😍😍😍
What's increasing testosterone in these cases is more likely the actual exercising and not the supplement. The very fact that these people are probably more inclined to be active is 'the Elephant in the room'.
3g creatine 3g pre workout 3g baking soda in a glass of 50% water 50% OJ for a week now I'm flying 🪽
Is 3g baking soda too much? I saw that 1/2 tsp is enough and more than that can cause diarrhea.
Is Creatine bad for enlarge prostate ?anyone plz
Did you mean to say that went down @ 2:27?
Test should be done on older men as well...
No just younger men.
My age is 53. I'm patient of polio. My Free Testosterone level is 6.75 pg/ml, suffering ED but now i have no sex desire.... is there any treatment?
You might wanna go to a TRT OR HRT doctor then see if they can help
Been on creatine for 5 weeks, starting to have hair lost...
Nice troll 😂
Honestly, I suspect my hairloss alsp came from creatine. It increases your DHT level. DHT is related to hair loss.
Love creatine but yeah makes my hair fall
Taking creatine made it harder for me to control my anger often had outburst over very minor things that would usually annoy me but not to the point of slamming a fist on the desk
