@6:32 Regine's voice was hoarse due to acid reflux. That was her very first attempt of Never Enough. There was actually a video clip during rehearsals that Regine really nailed the song. Sadly, during the concert itself, her acid reflux was there to mess her up but she still did it. That's how fearless she is! Even though her voice voice isn't in the most suitable condition, she won't dodge those high notes and would not even attempt to lip sync it. We appreciate your comments😊

Jane Mcdonald nails this on tour. The first time I saw her do it I was blown away.
Nicole was playing with her voice you should watch the whole performance since she hits the note in a chestier way and by the end before the big final belt she opted for a more balanced and healthier/headier sound I believe she wanted to display her skill by achieving the same note in two different ways.

Loren singing Never Enough with David Foster will always be my favorite one, and also that clip o Kelly Clarkson was not a fair choice although she did gracefully
The first time I heard Never Enough, I thought it was originally by Morissette, since Morissette's version was all over my newsfeed it went viral tho. She can make songs sound like her own.
Not when she's singing a Mariah Carey song. Morissette's "versions" of Mariah Carey's songs make her sound like "Asia's Parrot" rather than "Asia's Phoenix."

It is a shame that was the clip for Kelly Clarkson, as her version was the first to give me goosebumps and tear up- phenomenal- just edges the original into second for me.
Now , obviously Loren Allred is the singer who originally did it and forever will be my favorite…but having listened to them all I think Morrissette was second best here. Carl loxley was refreshing too but since he went quite lower it was easier for him to sing me instead of may I think 🤔
I also think the reason I like Loren’s the best is because of her own tone that is so pleasant to the ears and with so much emotion. And again, for best version I would go for the one she did at David Foster’s where she nailed it and gave me the shivers all over. For me that is when a singer sings certain parts that suddenly gives you a tinteling cold feeling through your whole body and then I close my eyes. That is the moment when a singer really got me. Celine does this to me, Whitney did , Faith Hill and Loren Allred also did with her stunning rendition of this gorgeous song!
4th Impact's version in 4 part harmony is the best I have heard, including the original, and Almira (4th Impact) hit the best highlight note in the same performance!!
The Morissette lady actually got that slide up at the end from Loren Alredd. She does it live.
I don't know why didn't include Jona Viray--she does one of my favorite versions. She has a live studio video on her channel, and some concert video on TH-cam
Another very good version is an early performance about two and a half years ago, by a contestant on TNT, Rica Mae Maer, in the Philippines, who became a finalist.

Kelly's studio version is all "me" and I love it. It's more difficult for sure but I think there's something about not modifying the vowel that I like. Modifying it feels a bit like cheating to me 😂😂
This question has nothing to do with this video, but I wanted to pick your brains. Was there a difference in microphones in the 80s for nasal singers to present day. As Meatloaf (r.i.p) during the 80s used to position the microphone by his nose, I wonder if it was a comfort factor, or microphone technique

This is not even a question, a contest or anything. Only one sings this best. Loren. The rest does not matter. Look for the one with David Foster and Loren. Some songs belong just to one. Same with the song ‘the power of love’ by Jennifer Rush. The rest does not matter there also. I always when Loren is analysed I have the same thing. No need to analyse her. It does not matter also. This girl and performance is beyond that.

obviously I love the original specially a performance with david foster and ofc the studio one is the best. Morisette amon I think is the best after and one of my personal unique versions is the one of the songbird supreme of asia because of the emotional bringing rather than the perfection of others!
