Jessie Mueller will always be my favorite. Not only is her voice absolutely incredible, but she really captures the emotions of the song and what Jenna is going through at that moment.

I honestly can't believe this musical has closed in Broadway. Final performance was on January 5th.

Sara Bareilles live version on the Today show is wonderful and my favourite version of hers, but I agree Jeremy Jordan's is my favourite too.
I’m with you on Sara’s performance on that show. She has given some others that are stunning as well. A recent one from her home is really beautifully understated and she connects to it brilliantly.
I saw Jeremy Jordan perform this live, and oh my word I sobbed my heart out. I’ve also seen Katharine McPhee (who was good), and Lucie Jones (who was phenomenal), but Jeremy has that something else for me ❤️

I KNEW I LIKED YOU!!!! I love Jeremy Jordan's version as well!! Also, met him in person. A genuinely nice guy and an amazing singer. If you haven't checked out his version of Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back to Me Now", please do. It's amazingly sung and he even puts in comedy at the end. Such a great performance! Also, I LOVE me some Jessie Mueller. Although Sarah Barrelles wrote it, Jessie originated it and won a Tony Award on Broadway! Also loves me some Shoshanna Bean!

Sara gives me chills all through my body no matter what she sings but with this song, every time she does it it just gets me. She connects to it so authentically. It’s just my personal taste, but she really deeply connects to it and all of the many ways she sings it really get me.
That’s not to say others haven’t given fantastic performances of this song. My second favorite is Jessie

I’ve met Emma Hatton countless times and been to loads of her gigs and saw her in wicked and Evita over 50 times. She has more of a jazz background than musical theatre :)

I am a massive fan of the show and especially this song and I have watched and heard as many different singers’ versions as possible. But Stephenie Torns is by far my favorite. She was the long-standing understudy for Jenna. And she was with the show from first preview to closing!! From theater mania:
‘Torns opened the show as an ensemble member and understudy for both Jenna and Dawn, and has since played long stretches as the title pie expert, holding the fort as Waitress's most reliable anchor.’
