one of Taylor's biggest skills is her breath control, she's almost never out of breath, her breath control was always fantastic.

Taylor is an underrated vocalist, she prefers songwriting over the vocal part of the song, which is understandable as she labels herself as a songwriter first... Tbh there might still be a part of her range, that she didn't choose to let us hear, i have been a fan of 10 years so I have a good idea on her vocal range, at least i thought i did cause the high note in her song "Don't blame me" changed my mind lmao.. her choice of choosing songwriting over vocals and a few of her performances where she was a little pitchy (cause of her eating disorder) made people think she can't sing, oh how horribly wrong they are XDD
taylor is mediocre in terms of vocal abilites when compared to ariana, beyonce, adele and lady gaga. her peers are much more vocally skilled and taylor focuses on songwriting. shes more on katy perry and keshas level of vocal ability. great songwriter though.
@@alanmilo1146 Yeah but vocalists as ariana doesn't come close to Taylor's songwriting ability. so it's fine. Everyone does something good
@@alanmilo1146 she's had an ED for most of her career and it made live shows incredibly difficult for her. I reccomend you watch a compilation of her strong vocals. I mean did you hear the 18 second belt she held in this video? I used to think the same as you and im literally a fan of hers. She's not the greatest but she has her moments that make you wonder where she's been hiding those skills.
@@alanmilo1146 Not at all. She's not "mediocre". If you feel that way, do watch her performance of Cornelia Street live from Paris or any Don't Blame Me performance from the Rep Tour. Plus, a "mediocre" vocalist does not have breath control so good that she has sustained longer notes than some of the best vocalists in pop music (at least from what I can hear in this video)

As someone who lives in Spain and knows these people, I feel the need to give you some context about that clip on 13:44 with Monica Naranjo, she's a powerhouse and really well-known here due to her powerful voice, in this interview, the hosts (first 2 ones singing, some of the most famous comedians here) propose this game to her cause she technically holds a record of holding a note for very long, hoping to see how many people would run out of breath before her. Obviously, it's just for fun but note how she doesn't seem out of breath but breaks because of her laughter, from what I've seen, I think she could have held it a bit longer easily.
Anyway, it was fun watching all these awesome singers hold the notes for so long, great video as always Georgina! 😊
Thanks for the time reacting to Lara Fabian again here. She IS a master class in singing, and a great person and performer too. I wish you had reacted to more of her videos but you didn't seem impressed with her Broken Vow performance and she is NOT popular so won't bring in a lot of traffic to your channel, unfortunately. I would like to think it would be worth it to have a really skilled artist whose technique has held up for years to refer to when teaching, though. She is teaching some herself now, but since she mostly is in Quebec and it's in French, not a lot of people know about it. She also just started concerts again and will go to Europe in September at the age of 52. There are some great videos on the evolution of her singing...the same songs, etc. that you might like. And of course her performances from the 1999 concert are legendary.

Since you've reacted to Angelina Jordan, I'm sure you appreciate her vocal skill. You might not know that she has about a 13 second jazz phrase in "I Put a Spell On You" when she was 9yo and a similar more complex phrase in her delivery (sitting on a couch) of Etta James "I'd Rather Go Blind" at 12yo. Worth a listen (and another reaction)!

The one in 13:40 is Monica Naranjo, in that video she is in a TV programme and they wanted to know how long could she hold a note comparing with the people working there, that's why the others are switching while she holds the note

My favorite was Nicole’s-love me some Scherzy. Her note was long but didn’t feel forced, not to mention the quality of the sound (not screaming at me or just trying to hold it the longest because they can), and I just love her soulfulness. I also enjoyed Ariana and of course, Celine 💙

Disappointing that missing from this was Streisand's 20- second final note in Piece of Sky. It may not be as long as some of these (no doubt she could), but none here were more beautiful imo.
I don't see the point to hold a note for that long. I don't think it's entertaining either, I get tired and bored in fact. But I do love when singers do that in appropriate moments, like Cyndi Lauper, which has always been her classic performance signature. There are a lot of other great singers that know how to use that well, and I appreciate that much more than doing that only for the sake of the spectacle.

Yes!! Like in "Dealer" and "Living Legend". Her voice has that grunge vibe to it and her belted notes sound amazing
For Lana I feel It’s not about showing off her voice she writes all her songs herself and sings how she wants to. She has an amazing voice and can sing well very high and can sing amazing in a lower register which a lot of female singers can’t, her voice is amazing in any way she chooses to sing doesn’t have to be in your face which I love, some people can’t appreciate that though!
