    Thank you for showing this being done. I was putting my Romeo 1 on and had the wrong screws. I called SIG talked to a guy named BO, and he is sending them free of charge. The gun is awesome, and the costumer service is great.

      Just got my X5 Legion and both of the supplied mounting screws that came with the R1 stripped during install. Weird.
      I contacted Sig via email and received a response within 2 days that the R1 is not made for the Legion. And I have to wait for the R1 Pro, which isnt even available on the market yet. WTHeck. Ordered some new screws online that are a little longer and will try those.
      I just can't believe that the R1 is not compatible with the x5 legion.

    I just would like to thank you, and say I never removed the extractor, I did all the work with extractor barrel and guide rod and spring still assembled just depressed the pin slid the back cover off, pulled out the firing pin and the detent rod, put the Romeo back on. All done in slide locked position. The other thing I will say is make sure the Romeo 1 is on and your looking through it and it’s centered above your iron sights, it’s very easily possible to have the red dot be off center because the base is off center by a mm.

    I had to replace ours a month after getting it... not sure what was happening there, I think the battery cover was loose so it was shorting out some how I guess. Since replacement and tightening it down (which is hard to do considering the slot shape) haven't had an issue in a year of use.

    Great video and tutorial, found it really helpful with a brand new X5, especially for me being completely unfamiliar with Sig products as this is a one off deviation from my typical CZ purchases. One question, does the notch in the extractor pin not face towards the inside of the gun so that it mates up with the extractor? You mentioned in the video that it goes to the outside but that seemed a bit off when I tried to match up the parts when the gun was apart. Thanks.

    Nice video
    I also had the same issue with the kit not having the mounting screws in it. The SOR 11001 is a rifle kit.
    The screws you need are a 6-48 thread and mine needed 8.8 - 9 mm of thread.
    This is a silly mistake on SIG's part in my opinion. The kit should ship with all the required crews to mount to a P320.
    Hey, but it only took me a week to find some others........!!! Wasting my time SIG! I am not in the US of Americaland and so what the hell do we do when we need parts? I am also interested as to where the 25 inch pound torque setting comes from please, it's not in the manual?

      Mike Hipp no clue on that. I have seen it reported a few times but it hadn't happened with my guns. You could try adjust the recoil spring weight to see if that was a does anything. Otherwise you would have to tune the extractor and ejector. Not sure how you would even start to do that.

    I really enjoy your videos and use them for learning as much as possible about the P320. I know this isn’t the correct place to ask this question but I’m thinking if anyone knows it’s you. I’m want to purchase a few of the new “32 rd PMags” for my X5 full size. I’ve read more negative stuff than positive but am hoping with a lot of use the problems that are mentioned in this magazine will get better. Do you have any experience with this magazine and if so what has your experience been like? Thanks and I do appreciate your thoughts.

    Great video. I love my new X Five . I have a Romeo 1 ordered and hopefully using it in a few days. I hope maybe you could help me with a question. The two little allen head screws you installed to secure the Romeo .... on my X Five they have been drilled and tapped to a 4mm thread size as I had a Deltapoint pro on it. They are just a bit bigger in diameter as the original size screws for the Romeo. Do you see any problems I might encounter. Nothing done to my X Five slide other than those two holes drilled and tapped one size bigger. My thoughts with installing the Romeo are as long as the new 4mm diameter screws fit the holes in the Romeo then all is ok? Your thoughts please if any?

    • @AlmaCole
      @AlmaCole  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have direct experience doing that, but in theory if it fits you should be okay. When I first got an RX I actually had some non standard screws and had to use tiny washers on the R1. Wasn't ideal, but worked perfectly.

    • @mikehardwick9760
      @mikehardwick9760 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alma Cole I hoping for the best. My concern is the screw head shoulder may not have room to seat properly. I only have pictures to see the seating area of screws so I don’t know yet if that’s an issue. I’m thinking if it’s not enough area for new screw seat maybe I could that an allen head screw and take some material off of outside diameter of new head until it fits. Wish me luck. Once again great video and thanks for your thoughts.

    • @mikehardwick9760
      @mikehardwick9760 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To update my problem/fix . I took the small 4mm allen head screw and chucked it up in my drill and basically placed a fine flat file on head of screw as it spun therefore turning the diameter of the head down slowly till it fit in the small space perfectly. Thanks again.

      Alma Cole good to know. Great video. I have a question that you might be able to answer. How would I go about swapping out the Dawson precision sights for some night sights of some type. Love the gun an I shoot it well and have gotten permission to carry it as a duty weapon. My only hold up is I would want night sites and I haven't figured out how to change out the sights, and who may make replacements. Thought about seeing if I could purchase a rear sight plate from a x-carry with the night sights and mount it up. Then swap out the front for a sig x-ray sight. What do you think...

    • @AlmaCole
      @AlmaCole  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Morgan Tucker assuming the X5 your only option would be to get the X-Carry sight plate or find someone who has an X-Carry and wants to swap. Dawson Precision makes the adjustable rear so you could also contact Dawson and they might be able to make you a night sight rear that could fit in the existing X5 adjustable housing.

I noticed that they just came out with a Romeo 1 without a mount, which is significantly cheaper than the one with the mount. I want to make sure I get the right one. After getting off the phone with sig, I’m told that the model I bought doesn’t come with screws that are compatible with the P320 x5 which is absolute horse shit! They should come with screws for the guns they mount directly to instead of multiple risers and keymod accessories. This is a total swing and miss on sigs part, but thankfully in my experience they have excellent customer service and shipped screws out to me immediately.
      If your Romeo 1 comes with screws with red thread locker on them they will not work on your x5

    Hi Alma. Just received a Romeo 1 red dot for my P320 x5. When I went to install it none of the screws in the box were the right size to install on the x5. It came with a M1913 mount already installed on the optic. When I removed the mount to install on the x5, the 2 screws holding the mount in place were way too long to mount the optic to the slide. The screws you used to install the sight to the slide do not come in the package. The model is Romeo 1 SOR11001. Any ideas where I can find the correct size screws? Just spent $399 on an optic that I cannot use on my P320 x5.

      Not off hand, but if you reach out to Dawson then they should know. The 245 tall one that's on the X5 is close but I haven't put it specifically on paper

    • @BigMurph45
      @BigMurph45 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alma Cole thank you for getting back to me. I just talked to Dawson and they said the one on the X5 was .215 which I thought was a little short. I think it is a 245 like you said. They did not have a sight measured for the X-Carry or a P320 carry. They did say the sight they use for the M17 paired with a Delta Point Pro (which is .085 taller than a Romeo1) was a .400. This gives you a slightly shorter sight radius than the X5. I’m still unsure.

      It's actially a permanent glue and grit job that I do to these grips. Springer Precision does has some precut grip tape that should work well.

    Hi Alma. Sig p320 xcarry. Disassembled gun and next day when reassembling slide to frame forgot to install the takedown lever. As a result the trigger assembly is stuck to the slide with barrel and guide rod. Anyway i can rectify this? or do i have to take it to a gunsmith?

    • @AlmaCole
      @AlmaCole  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Assem Ahmed assuming you know the gun is empty, try pointing in a safe direction and pull the trigger. That should release the striker. Otherwise you will need to remove the rear striker plate to remove the striker.

    • @assemahmed2581
      @assemahmed2581 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alma Cole did that but the whole trigger assembly is still stuck to the slide. Barrel and guide rod holding it in place.

    • @AlmaCole
      @AlmaCole  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Assem Ahmed you can try grabbing setting into a vise up side down and grabbing the end of the guide rod with pliers. Pulling on that can relieve the tension and then try again to release the striker by pulling that trigger or try to get that striker plate off. Good luck!

    • @blackspeed69007
      @blackspeed69007 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean for the Legion ? I have a X Five and manufacturer's catalogue says it's compatible with ROMEO1, like the RX.

    • @ericsilvestri6875
      @ericsilvestri6875 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's what I was questioning. Because I seen multiple video saying the romeo1 will not fit the X5. So this is a pretty shitty video and I wonder how many people are going to fuck up the threads on their Legion trying to get the Romeo one to fit

    • @XSpiffie
      @XSpiffie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      People get confused, there are two types of x5 now the older model with the non skeletonized trigger will fit the older romeo 1, the x5 legion (newer model) will not accept a romeo 1, only the romeo one pro and delta point pro. (optic mounts are made for many others) The optic mounting was changed to the military m17 mount. Trust me I contacted customer service about why my sig optic wont fit my sig pistol. They sent me a link to the 400$ romeo one pro. Super helpful.... Only time I've ever had an issue with Sig. I hope more people see this comment and don't make this mistake. Make SURE you know what model you have the forums are full of people hacking screws and slides trying to get this to work. Also this is a huge money maker for Sig, change optic mounting systems, make people buy the sig romeo one pro. Hope this is helpful.

    • @AlmaCole

      Ben Reid you should register with SIG and they will have you send your gun in for upgrades. It should be improve the trigger and improve drop safety ratings

      @AlmaCole  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      S. Huang it's less susceptible to the drop safe issues but the upgrade makes it better and modifies the Disconnector method to remove potential timing issues.
