I’ve had multiple problems and misfires with my 2017 sonata and have never had the check engine light come on. I know the bulb works. But won’t ever read codes for me. Like wtf. SOS. Help
I m driving a ford ranged xlt, the engine light is ON and theft say i have to bin a News BCM which cost thousands. What is this. I dont have the monyet to pay
You guys are all correct. This does NOT permanently turn off the check engine light. It just resets it. My car has a fault code indicating an EVAP leak. I don't care about an EVAP leak and the car has been running fine for 2 years with the check engine light on. The problem is the computer won't allow the remote start feature to work with the check engine light on. I need the remote start to work but won't pay to fix a stupid EVAP problem that is of no help at all. If there was a way to turn off the check engine light my problem would be fixed. How bout I remove the computer and scrap it?
I was born in the 1950s and grew up in the 1960s In the UK. Cars were basic and understandable. Now here both our cars start and drive fine. Both have engine warning lights on. Here in Finland, it gets pretty cold in the winter. Both our cars got this problem when they suddenly got to sit in some wet then freezing weather changing in the same few days. We are pretty poor so just now too little money to get professional help. If the car starts the first time, has no exhaust oddities, and drives perfectly then it's got to be some electrical sensor that does not like getting cold(maybe I am wrong) or a faulty electrical connection or sensor. Anyway, I am searching and waiting for my Russian mechanic buddy to return from his Philippine trip he should be able to give me some advice.
My wife did when we went to the mechanic he split his sides laughing as she said she fixed the problem. One car had a faulty crankcase sensor. In the other car, the light went out with a replacement battery. :) @@mgman6000
well some systems are interpretative eg a misfire cyl 3 -- the only system really at fault is the EGR Valve and its downlink functions. While it's quite true that NOX is reduced by feeding combustion exhaust into the gas-air feed, nox is really only a problem in places like LA or where inversions are common. The real problem is spewing unburned gas and c02. If you burn gas one might as well burn as little as possible. It goes w/o saying that these lights drag you back to the dealer for un-needed work.
I'm one of those fools that bought a car.Not realizing the check engine.Light had been disabled and i'm trying to figure out how to hook it back up. I found nothing about how to hook it back up.
Let’s go back to the old ways .never mind the crap that they put in the cars today to line there pockets with our money talk about the real scammers they are.
All this tells you is how to reset the computer, not how to permanently disable the light
They are beginners try to be look like a pro
@@toplespecah666 ,I don't believe there is a way to permanently disable the light.
@@sbeaver9 you can have a tuner program them off but you're gonna need to know a tuner and the tuner is gonna need to trust you....
Liquid electric tape paint right over it or shoot through the light with a Brad nailer & hope you hit the bulb

And none of this says how to permanently disable your check engine light
remove the bulb.
None of this disables the light. It simply resets it.
This is not going to permanently disable a check engine light . Don't waste your time
