- Discovering 10 QUIRKY CUSTOMS of THAI CULTURE!
From dinner table etiquette to dealing with conflict, I investigate some of the fascinating customs in Thailand's extensive culture.
Today I ride the bike to explore the stunning beaches south of Pattaya, Na Jomtien and visit the spectacular Thai fishing village Ban Amphur (Ban Amphoe) beach & inlet.
Na Jomtien feels very much like its own entity, deserving of its own name I believe. It's in fact fairly detached from Jomtien Beach and offers a maze of tight backroads and bridges that traverse the fishing villages and seafood shops of the region. If you're traveling to Pattaya, Thailand and feel confident to rent a motor scooter with the proper international license - then I would highly recommend taking a day trip or half day bike tour of this area and meander through the cute little villages.

more mate. very interesting stuff, half I didnt know.

Pretty sure there is something in the road rules about using a horn, but I couldn't find it. I hear Thais using their horns to warn people or when they pass a Wat as a sign of respect. There's lots more - looking forward to your next video.
Your last video really touched me about your depression problem.unfortunately it’s something you going to battle with your whole life but you seem to control it well👊don’t worry about rich past boy friends I was frowned upon by my Thai wife’s friends husbands because I work for the government.they even didn’t invite me to birthday parties because they said they didn’t want to embaris me when it came to the bill and I can’t afford it.but don’t worry Sam,as the years have gone by I’ve watched all these rich Thai woman’s husbands all fall off the perch financially.i have now reached the age where I have a good next egg with all my work bennifits including medical, bonuses extra.they are all now financially screwed.those same rich older men who now are divorced from their Thai wife’s and jobless, are now getting in contact with me!😁.your a good guy, keep pushing.its all us nice guys that see things through when it counts and never give up on people rich or poor ❤
Nice reminders for us all. The money thing is a big one. Always take the time to make the bill flat and if you really want to up your game, anytime handing over a payment in cash or credit card use two hands to pass it to the employee. I find it's always appreciated.
Oh really!!! Two hands - I'd not noticed. I'll try!
I work in taiwan, so I see it a lot here, but i've never seen a single thai person do it in thailand in 10 years.
@@michaelwilson8443I know what you mean. I've seen it more in other SEA Countries however my wife who is Thai will do it in finer restaurants and hotels, particularly in Bangkok. Definitely not common day to day but I find the locals always appreciate it.
Hi - Love your videos - introduced to them via Adam's channel. But here want to ask what camera you use if I am starting my own TH-cam channel?
I love the result I can just get from an iPhone 11, 12 or 13!
I like the way you don't hide the rubbish most people hide that stuff and you don't see the real thailand
New idea for one of your future vlogs is showing us Lele and you demonstrating the “ French Kiss “ so we Thai can understand palease ja 😂❤
bahahaha
First 🍻
you mentioned going shirtless especially when driving, but it is also illegal to go commando you must wear underwear, thanks for sharing
2:22 😱😱😱 yacht !!! NO😩😩😩
I made the mistake of folding up some money and putting it in my shoe for safe keeping while i was about to go out on the town. I was informed very bluntly that it was not the rite thing to do by my then Thai girlfriend.
A major point you might have included is the wai, that unless you know exactly how and when, holidaying farangs should probably just avoid it or risk looking stupid. Oh and not to make jokes about ghosts; many Thais are shit scared of ghosts/spirits.
Keis Two, bwahahaha
Sam, just double-checked with my Thai GF and Mai Ow Krap is not too direct. It's still quite polite. So no need to worry lol
Thank you. I actually had a similar discussion with my girlfriend yesterday and she too explained it’s not as bad as I thought!!
@@GoneAdrift we all live and learn Lol. Btw, we'll be back in Patts July 5-9, if you'd like to try again to catch up.
You're wrong on a couple, using your horn is perfectly ok, in fact it is correct. In the uk we use it as a rebuke were as Thai's use it as a warning, if you think a vehicle is going to pull out pip your horn or flash your lights. Mai ow just means not want, its not stronger and sounds better than just saying mai.
I wonder if the foot thing is why I’ve never seen stools or ottomans in the lounge areas of condo videos. Because to me, if you can’t prop your feet up it’s not a lounge, it’s a waiting room.
Great point!!!
Definitely why!!!
Got it dont put your feet on yah head...I just got back from Saigon and kinda surprised I didnt see you adrift in District 1. And as for the horns where else do you test them before sending them overseas ?
District 1!!! The HORN capital of the world!!!!!
@@GoneAdrift you might have to say that again I couldnt hear you I was in Vietnam
You can't fold or crease a note but it's ok to stuff it in the butt crack or cleavage a bar girl ?
