I have the the rog strix x570-I motherboard was wondering would Ryzen 9 5900x work with board straight out the box or would it need a bios update.

how does the MSI b550 tomahawk compare to these motherboards? or should I not consider it?
Yours is a better general use board capable of light OC and okay for medium workload use. A motherboard is almost always judged by what you will be using it for. There are some so bad they should be left alone but those are almost always obvious just looking at them. All of them game and general use fine. The 70 boards have more connectivity and are great for work that needs many devices like music, content creation, etc. Unfortunately, devices get wacky when overclocking. The 50 boards have more options designed for overclocking like, extra CPU power connections and sometimes even one located at the bottom of the board for extra power to the PCIe slots, error code display on the board, start/reset buttons on the board (liquid nitrogen use with no case), dual BIOS, clear CMOS button on the rear I/O, CPU free USB BIOS update (all this is for mistakes overclockers make and screw the BIOS). There is some crossover with really good boards that can manage both uses but they cost a ton.
Quick question, right now I’m running a 3090 and a rysen 9 5900x, with a b450 Arous, i have a new case coming and i can afford to upgrade my motherboard.. should i? Am i hurting my gaming experience with the b450? Just looking for some answers don’t need to change but would it the difference was worth it
If you have no issues right now, your b450 should be fine and any improvements would be minimal. It would be probably a better idea to save the money now for an overall upgrade in the future
I've got the 5900x/x570 TUF Plus combo. Love it. Oc'd to 4.6ghz on all cores with zero issues.
The only major drawback for this mobo is the lack of USB C support for front panel of your case. It does however have a USB C slot on the mobo itself though.

Yes, totally fine and safe to pair it with any 550 board. It would only benefit from a 570 motherboard under very heavy loads.

Thanks for asking! It's a good motherboard but with a bit more you can get the ASUS Prime X570-Pro which is better and more future proof if you want to upgrade to a new processor later...
@@BCZone Thank you for answering. I'm building it for productivity (Motion graphics and 3D animation purpose) for our studio. We use After Effects, Blender, C4D and Unreal. SLI and CrossFire is not much of a deal for us.
Here in India B550 Aorus pro AC is ₹17,500 and Asus Prime X570 Pro is ₹25,500 which is ₹8000 more. Which is 100 USD. Is the Asus Prime X570 Pro worth it ? Performance wise B550 slightly outperform the X570 i think, with it's better VRM design. What's your opinion on this ?

if you havent already got the pc parts i really recommend for your ram to get the same except instead of 3200mhz get 3600 because you are using a 3090 ti
