And my dream of a snow runner game in the jungle gets shunted down the line several more years. VR is neat and all, but I’d much rather have fun environments. They already did a Warhammer colab. Why can I not drive my trucks in the war zones of Cadia?
I don't care about VR, but if it opens the door (pun intended) to an option to leave the vehicle in the non-VR titles, I'm all for it.
VR fan here.
Want a good VR game? Just have the original game. In VR. Like Subnautica (VR mod improves it). Or games that are compatible with UEVR.
Game first, VR second.
That's it. You don't need to reach and grab everything. Using a steering wheel is better than holding controllers in the air. Focussing on VR will make it feel like a tech demo.
I agree, for driving games there is little benefit for air grabbing though I suspect it is to cater for those who do not have a wheel or want to use a controller.
Exactly what I want as well. Being able to see the vehicle in third person and look around in the environment without the wonky camera controls would be awesome. I guess that makes me strange as most people seem to prefer first person view.
SnowRunner players: we want an even better SnowRunner!
Saber: let's work on literally anything else.

I love Mudrunner games and I love VR. Definitely excited to play this.

The only thing you're failing to realize is that 80% of the people that use Quest are kids and you know what kids want to do drive cars. They may not plan a lot but they're going to buy the game just to have a car plus the trailer has 52k and all the comments say there excited
It's true, I was being more jokey than serious. Though I would be curious to know Quest headset sales figures.

ive seen an overwhelming amount of hate from a lot of saber's new releases and projects, but MRVR specifically, i dont see the hate on the art style, there are a lot of vr games that look like this, personally you could choose to look at the other things, like 1 theyre looking into vr for these games 2 windshield whipers 3 the weather looks really nice 4 real first person out of truck interactions and 5 an actual manual gearbox

it's kinda cool to see this running on a quest . The only thing that really pisses me off like nothing else, is the delayed controls... The grab animation is wayyyy to slow, making it impossible to grab stuff consistent... it should be instant grab... otherwise you keep missing the levers ... and it would be nice to walk freely outside the car .... otherwise it's a really nice game... can't wait for PCVR release with hopefully PC graphics!
ah man; at the start of the pandemic, i was buying PC peripherals to escape reality (flight stick, new wheel/shifter, VR) and was super excited when SnowRunner's Epic exclusivity ended. I thought, "Great! Manual shifting on my wheel will be awesome!". Manual shifting is still not supported.
A month later, I thought "This would be awesome in VR!". After about two months of playing with VR, I realized VR is dumb AF.
To see them bring out MudRunner VR is ... surprising. I'm not as angry as others, but I'm not enticed.
what do I see here? flatland VR haters and mainframe fanboys. Meanwhile, I have countless hours of great VR racing fun in Grid Legends on Quest and I'm readying for some mud sliding soon... haters gonna hate while I enjoy
Exactly, I bought the game today for my Quest 3, although I haven't got to play it myself yet, my friend enjoyed it very much
Hope this is them figuring out how to make VR work with the game then adding it to Snowrunner.

quest devices are essentially smartphone, thats why they are still rather affordable as standalone machine.
@@hetzel3606 True, and that's a plus in some ways. VR is inherently expensive otherwise.

The fact that it's not as open to user as a computer can suck tho, but that's almost any smartphone sadly.
Also grabs calculator: yep... yep.. wouldn't count on it
At least our calculators are finally back in action.
Err there are between 20-25 million quests sold. Thats why its launching there. There are only a couple of million pcvr players out there.
yeah how about they work on the logistics side of Snowrunner and make bigger maps with actual highways so that long-hauls become a viable thing. Can't even shift to sixth gear before having to break again. Vehicle spare part logistics? Sharing parts between our trucks would make setting up strategic maintanance points even interesting. At the current state we have to pull our rescue trucks all the way back to refill each one by one.
Literally no one will sit for hours and play a VR version of Mudrunner. It will become very tedious after just a couple days. It is simply too uncomfortable.
you say its a quest exclusive (quest 1 is unsupported now, so it HAS to be for the other quest headsets)
I get dissapointed, not excited. This game looks terrible, like a mix of first Spintires tech-demo and generic mobile game. I see now why we have only 1 map on upcoming season 13 and why Snowrunner have so much unfixed bugs - because devs wasting time and resources on things like THIS
Waste of resources, exactly what I thought! And Snowrunner suffers from it...
Really is not the best look when we are getting a one map DLC as you said. I suspect Expeditions sales have suffered because of stuff like this.

@VCN01 I don't want to sound rude but, dude...if you think that *good graphics=good game* then you are just flat wrong.
Take for example Project Zombiod. The graphic looks like something from the 90's and it's one of the best zombi survival games ever created.
Noone should judge a game because the graphics look terrible. This is just a dumb excuse.

Played the game. And it’s awesome
it look super fun but i'm afraid mud physics will be lackluster, water physics seems already non existant and i dont see a very good perspective for modding

It seems like a good idea but depends how it’s implemented. If it’s a cut down and basic version of mudrunner with tiny maps and poor physics to get it running on metas rubbish mobile hardware, it’s gonna be a tough sell.
I never played mudrunner but I do like some of the trucks and the waypoint is better then snowrunner but I’m not a VR person so I will pass on it

this game is going to be dead on arrival cause it’s on the meta quest 3 only. the meta quest 2 sells way more in volume and than the 3 cause it’s 200 bucks gets people in the door for VR. bad decision on their part

How would you rate Expeditions out of 10?
@ATribeCalledCars I'd give it 5/10 as it does have the potential to be a good game, but a lot of attention and much more content is needed to warrant the asking price.

What a waste of development. SR Xbox series is STILL a fucking joke, blurry ground textures, broken video settings, motion blur turns its self on and off while driving, truck lighting on the ground flickers on and off, massive long loading times. FIX OUR PLATFORM FFS! It’s been 2 YEARS. I honestly think you as a content creator needs to report the textures not loading in with video evidence, because they’ve been ignoring us this entire time.
I did make a video about the Xbox version and do mention it a fair bit, really not cool at all. The issue is that I can only make so much noise as it comes at the detriment of other videos :(
@@ATribeCalledCars I meant actually open a ticket with Saber and just send them a couple clips of the textures being blurry on Xbox series X. Your voice carries way more weight than just normal players, as a content creator they might take it more serious hearing it and seeing it from you.

PS 2 era graphics, why would you play something so ugly in VR?
Because it's in vr
Vr actually does a lot of the heavy lifting, low poly stuff tends to look really good when your in it, your brain still feels like it's real. And since this is for the quest, it does have to run on what is essentially beefed up phone hardware. I won't say the pc stuff doesn't look better, but it's not bad for quest level graphics.
I think the VR stuff does help, but there is a base level and MudRunner VR appears to be on the line or below it. At least, if coming from playing the game on a decent PC or having played PC VR.
@@ATribeCalledCars yeah a big thing is setting expectations. Quest is mobile. Even more so then a steam deck, and is running something that by accounts shouldn't work on a standalone device like that. So there are... Concessions made. And it seems like the concessions here are being made visually to make sure the game works well physically. As long as people can accept that, they will enjoy it. Otherwise wait for a pcvr version I guess.
@@ATribeCalledCars There are plenty of fine looking VR games, even on Quest, like Arizona Sunshine 2, Asgards Wrath 2 or Walking Dead. When it comes to PC VR you can find games borderline photorealistic like Half Life Alyx or The Climb. There is no excuse for ugly game like this nowadays. I'm Rift 2 gamer myself.
