- We are heading on our annual harvest road trip which is the northern tip of the south farm 🙂
We are leaving a few machines behind due to we need more truck drivers to help haul the grain back to the main yard.

I see Chapel has added some art work to your combine cab
Please don't ever apologize for farming, and feeding the world......!!
Lmfao, that right wind shield wiper design is fucking hilarious
That is a mesmerizingly funky wiper system. 😉
my favorite part about combine moving is listening to the combines speed up🤣
And they say Saskatchewan is flat and you can watch you dog run away for days eh mike lol
It’s always a good day when Mike posts
Thanks for the effort making the videos
Mike Mitchell. Great video. Thanks for taking the extra time and editing to keep videos coming 😊
Can’t imagine driving that far and seeing so few vehicles 😳. It’s like a different planet 😂
That is one barren landscape
Great video Mike
Hope these moves pay for themselves with some bumper yields! You move from field to field the way the pioneers migrated from Province to Province!! 😳
I noticed many round bales, at least on the first paved, single-lane hiway. I assume those are done by a contractor? Perhaps the contractor keeps/sells the bales? Or perhaps the local roads department uses them? 🤔
That’s a crazy move!
Makes my 15 mile commute to my furthest field seem negligible lol
From the mid Midwest thank you! We is my neighbors and renter just starting to get into crops Corn and soybean. Thank you so much sir disable dude I am
Holy hone heke mate! That X9 cab is so quiet.
What a bizarre design for a windshield wiper.
Thanks for all the good videos 👍🤩
Safe travels on your travels to your field Mike
drive safe mike and crew. watchin from Australia!
Thanks for the great video
Another awesome video!
Super video Mike 👍 stay safe God Bless
Pretty countryside! Thanks for taking us along for the ride
Are you being sarcastic? There isn't a tree or Bush the whole way, it's the most bleak, uninteresting monotonous landscape there is
@@dmcg6074it's southern Saskatchewan......what do you expect😅
@@dmcg6074I didn’t know trees were required for something to be considered beautiful.
I enjoy traveling through the prairie as it has it's own beauty
@@dmcg6074 don’t need a tree or bush to make it beautiful
Keep up the good work
I've had the whole free wheel down the hill experience. Wasn't a combine though, it was in our Self Propelled Chopper. Popped out of gear because it has a 4 speed gearbox but I had no brakes. Had to put it into the bushes and trees to stop.
Great to see Frankles again!
Hey Mike! I love the moving days videos. It’s so impressive, here in the Midwest 2 or 3 combines moving is impressive. I couldn’t imagine a mile of equipment on the move. Honestly if I saw you coming I’d just pull over, grab the phone and start recording. What a sight to be seen. Can’t believe yal farm so much you have to move 70 plus miles just in the south farm. Unreal.
great video
I don’t know about other guys when you are on the road but I have taken to always wear my seat belt as you never know what can happen. Stay safe.
Absolutely!
Badlands look fairly green yet. Considering how dry it was that way
I live in south east New York, approx. 60 miles north of NYC, anyhow, the smoke from the fires in Canada early summer were unbelievable. The days were red and visibility by 4pm was as if it was sunset. Headlights on! Typically it’s dark by 9-9:30 pm that time of year.
I feel like when you slow down any combine on the road they rattle a lot 5:18
must be a site for the towns folk when you roll down the main stareet of the small town(s) if there are any left with your immense caravan // maybe a quick vidoe of the old farmstead that a family made a living from back in the day out in the middle of nowhere
good work
Or if the engine stalls they freewheel. Had some wild rides in packers and loaders on steep hills
Hi Mike. In the UK, the police have to pilot anything over 14 feet wide with 48 hours notice. Also its nice to see the quiet roads. We would have at least 20 cars behind us after 1 mile when on the main highway.
We built much bigger roads. Plus our roads arts hundreds of years old. They weren’t built for horses and wagons, they were long gone when we built the big roads.
Does that long straight road go for another few thou miles all the way to the pole, the north pole-?????????😉😉
OH, CANADA-!
Morning
I cant believe how strong the deere hydro is to be able to pull the heads. My case ih 9240 will barely pull its own ass up a hill. If i had pulled the header id be in 2nd gear lol
Magnifique convoi des moissonneuse batteuse et le charo et les coupes et la pluie 😅😊😮😂
100km avec les batteuses 😮
Maybe use one of those big mobile "mother bins" like in Australia?
did he say 7 miles or 70? holy hell that's a big farm
Glad everything is working out Mike, even with all the negatives that come with it i miss farming with my grandfather so so much. May he continue to rest in peace. *Wyman Bo Gray* ~ *1930-2018*
The X9 is a heavy pile of steel, almost 30 tons.
Seeing you move all the Green, I have to wonder if the Ideals are any more reliable? I really enjoy seeing your progress !
Mike said in the comments once that in 3 years they rarely ever had all of the Fendts working at the same time.
Certainly the “S” series is more popular amongst custom harvest crew’s because not so wide for moving plus they feel running more used “S” series vs new X9 save on fuel plus bushels harvested per hour very close.
Gleaner?
@@Toknowtheeventofgod-cw8hw Gleaners are just not popular. When the N series came out in the early 1980s they were turds that wouldn't stay in the field. 40 years later the stigma is still there.
With is with a wiper that pushes up and sets in the down lol. Some people's kids lol.
Our biggest move is about 80 miles. How I would love to only see as many cars as you do!!
@@MikeMitchell11-on-Te-le-gram What did I win??
👍👍
Moving videos are my favorite. There’s nothing I love more than seeing a long row of matched equipment going down the road. There is nothing more epic than that! I think it gives me the same feeling of excitement that some people get from planes or trains. I wish there was a way to get more of those shots in the video!
How long does it take to shift a combine that distance? At a guess, I would reckon about 5 hours.
Our farthest drive is 13 miles, 70 is crazy
This is big
keep the videos coming love watching them how many acres do u farm at the other end off the move must be a lot for 9 combines
If I remember correctly they farm somewhere around 40-45,000 acres as a family
16:56 🤔 Maybe you could fab some Semi Truck mud flaps for the Header trailer wheels to drop down the mud spray? ❤️🖖🏼🇺🇸
Harvest season and now you get rain wonderful
Distance between North end of your fields to your Southern most end of fields????
You would think Deere could design a side-wiper that "wipes" down instead of up. Geesh.
I know it's expensive but a LSW 1400 is a little narrower then the duels.
How much is a full length of grain bag ? Just the price of the bag ? And how many bushels does it hold ?
How much would it cost to hire trucks to move the combines Vs cost of manpower and fuel for the trip with combine?
Why do header trailers have skinny looking auto rims/tires and not nice wider ones like those on planters.
👋😊
Claas viper stays up. Enough said.
Mike was the Mrs. part of the parade or was she at home holding down the fort? 👍🇨🇦
She is running combines at the north farm.
The lack of trees just rugged landscape
Question how much is a grain bag.
You're able to bale the long yard over there????? Do they need permits for tgat or not????
Mike why don't yall put the wind systems on like half of your combines and do a test one year and see if they make a difference or not I would think in poor crops like you got that a wind system would be a huge help in catching every bit of product as possible.
Get a life and get a clue.
Why would I do that? Your a scammer or someone trying to act like someone your not.
was Jarrod the guy with the Ostrich?
I see someone is doing ditch hay.
You know it is bad when that needs to get done
@@ruststarits gets done more on the good years because that's when there is something,at least where I'm from
interesting old place in the middle of nowhere
I think your operation specifically would benefit greatly from a mother Bin. Of course you can’t expand equipment much without a crop.
Edit: speaking of hills and combines, my nephew went faster backwards than up and ended up stuffing her backwards into the bush and everything in the back was damaged pretty bad. They wrote off the combine.
Where u farm at??
Do you buy or lease ? how many acres do you have ? (own or lease)
I only watch y'all occasionally but did you say 10 combines? Yikes! Can't imagine the overall maintenance costs each year. Nice equipment tho
His goal is to have 18-20 total within the next few years
All the 10 combine are 690? Or different. Everything are dirty😂
Hey Mike have you heard of this Canadian company I’m not buying another Deere receiver AGRA-GPS North America
What happened to all the ideal combines? How many did you have?
Traded in for the X-9s.
@@OOpSjm How many were there?
@@user-pe4hr1be9hI think 6 not sure if that is with or without the burned one
@@user-pe4hr1be9hI think there was 6, but one burnt up the last year they had them.
Hey mike do you always go first on road?
90% of the time, yes.
What is the distance between North and South farms?
It's roughly 300 miles, I believe.
@@kevinmeyer3884 holy crap, that's like driving through half of my country.
@slav_K0 that's like a drive across my State in South Carolina
@@slav_K0the farthest points without our country are closer than 300 miles 😂
Who owns the hay on the side of the road?
I hope you brought the pressure washer trailer to clean those up before you start working!
Unacceptable....
Man I wish I had your banker lol
You think the relief valve blowing is scary try blowing a drive belt on an old school belt drive swather been there done that that’s the closest I’ve ever been in my adult life to needing a change of underwear lol
Does your father operate a combine, or is he just doing lugestics ?
He's retired 🙂
BC plates no doubt lol, they can hardly drive at the best of times as it is.
How far is it between the northern farm and the southern?
@bengtl.5017 it’s approx 550 km / 340 miles from the south farm near Bracken to the north farm near Bankend
@@jefflee5047 Horribly far then, I guessed it was about half that distance.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
MIKE! Question! How stupid of a design do you think that wiper system is on that combine? IMO, that is 100% embarrassing for John Deere engineering. 😂 EDIT: Haha I didnt know you were gonna comment on the wiper system. Your point is very valid as well, but I was meaning the stupid little mini wiper to accommodate the big wiper.
Looks like my earlier comment was taken down...eff u TH-cam.
If you don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen...again...eff u TH-cam.
15:30 of driving down the road and talking. what a wasted video, glad I didn't watch it
And that is why all my videos are different, because they appeal to different people. I get asked to record such moves so people who are unfamiliar with the landscape can witness it. 🙂
Hey you know what mike you do a perfect job no ad no clickbait no boring intros
It's not really any different to driving across a field and talking is it.
You must’ve watched it to know about it
