- So obviously farming isn't just tractor sitting as we all know, it's being able to adapt to last minute changes and rolling with the punches! Right now, we are trying to increase our lentil acres and keep a good rotation but at what expense? 😆🤷🏼♂️

No I really do not have anything better to do than watch you look at your fields 😂
😂🤣😂
😅😂😂
I’m in the tractor watching videos of Mike looking at his fields lol
@@etrain757 😂 OH MY !
I am farm worker and student and i have been learning from weeds and stuff more from you than in school! You tell things more understandable way. Keep it up! :)
Harvest and seeding are the best videos, but I like videos like this where you explain consideration in what to plant for a set of field conditions too.
Your knowledge of farming is at Genius status....
Hi Mike, i’ve seen more or less all the content you’ve posted… I’m looking up how the wheather is in saskatchewen hoping for rain in the forecasts… thumbs up for a crazy good harvest 💪greetz from belgium❤️
It sure looked like you were petting that weed. I had a good laugh at that.
We’ve put saltlander down in a few patches that were bad with salinity. The results have been very good. The access to the patches is good just off of a highway and last year I just cut and baled the patches. Went 3 bales/acre.
Hi Mike, have you thought about using a sponge weed wiper to get these taller weeds in short crops like lentils? It might not be feasible for a farm of your size, but its a neat idea
Also, I heard humic helps reclaim with saline areas. Maybe you can broadcast it with a drone outside of your busy times
Hoping for a better year ths year for you at the south farm 👍
Keep up looking at fields, please! I actually enjoy looking how it is developing and what kind of struggles u run into :p also it‘s good to learn about seeding without moving a lot of dirt around.
I check weather radar offen......saw some thunder storms in your area....hope you got some rain
I think Mike said they got some rain.
We need rain here in north EU badly buy looks like atleast another week without any rain
@@nakki123 Would you like some heat/humidity?? Here in the US it’s downright hot feels like July. Plenty of moisture at least… I just hope it stops for a bit as it seems to rain bought every few days.
@@crandonborth its hot here too. Hot and dry
Our problem weeds are wild sunflowers, yellow tops, and number one is pigweed. Pigweed is also known as careless weed as it could careless where it grows with its millions of seeds per plant.
Don’t forget water hemp
Great job thanks
Calm down Mike! You’re going to blow a seal. Have a good day!
Mike, you're looking at it wrong. You need to farm kochia! Sounds like it would have high yield!
Back in the 80's my dad bought kochia seed to plant in saline spots of tame hay fields.
I would be interested to see Mike seed a full season cover crop right next to some of the other crops and see how it performs side by side in drought.
Salut Mike magnifique vidéo et les chang et bien compliqué 😂😮😅😊
Hopefully u got some rain after u posted this edition !!!
Mike could you put a ton of lime in those saline areas to nuturaliz it
No, the sodium and chloride must be removed. Usually this would be leaching from rain or an extra heavy irrigation, but in dry areas certain plants can suck up the salt and then be mowed and hauled off. After a few growing seasons the soil levels are reduced enough to grow other plants, but the effectiveness depends on the source of the salt and how fast it builds up.
Can u use dicamba on it? ,albeit that won’t kill it but down here in Iowa it kills pretty much any broad leaf but maybe that’s not considered a broadleaf 🤷♂️
has anyone in your state /province running the new bourgault disc drills, do you have any feed back? cheers
Xceed canola. Did it ever take off or work in the sw.
Mike you need a drone to crop scout. 😂
I actually used my drone to look for lodging in corn last year and it worked pretty damn good.
Why don't you put in a irrigation sprinkler? In those slues you can tow them around
Morning
Mike, imagine how richn you were if you were growing rocks.
Yeah i have problem fields of feral rye. It is a bear to get under control. Koshia is getting tougher here every year.
Where’s your “See & Spray” Sprayer to spot blast Weeds like Kosha Mike ?
Welkers South of you across the USA Border have it and Love it !!
Rain is coming don't worry
Do you use crop oil?
I no ur soil would blow away but would the plough kill it ?
Mike how are you liking the 1 ton? How is the Duramax 3.0 SUV doing?
👍
Put humic acid and ACF-SR biological bacteria product on the saline.. that will make it crops grow.. ACF-SR biological bacteria product loves saline soils
Just this week a plant-protein company decided to close up shop in Saskatchewan. They bought peas and lentils, will this affect your choice of seeding, or is there lots of buyers out there?
Pretty thick infested area, might have to carve it out and do summer fallow🤷
Well. Beans it is.
Mike why are you plow it?🤔
Short season soybeans. Sorghum milo
👋😊
what about organic farming?
i love you
🥰😍🥰
😅🤣😂
Plant the lentil where it's plenty fertil
If you have to choose specific fields to manage nutrients your farming to many acres. Bad look Mike
I appreciate your opinion on the matter, but I think quite the opposite. If you are broad acre farming every 1/4 the same, I think you are "farming to many acres". Each child learns different and at different pace, each fleld is different.
Especially when you take on new fields, shall they be treated the same as the ones you have farmed for 10yrs?
Seed milo.
you might have adhd
This field is larger than most farms in my area…😳
Lime it. Neutralise it
North-west Germany
first
Always remember Mother Nature never tried to grow the crops we as modern man want to grow in that region of the world , so your lack of crop success is just Mother Nature saying not today Mike, Welkers, Fast ag … 😂😂
Chemical Guy: this is the easiest who shouts kill me, spray me, with Chemicals ..☠️
Try organic...pays more off💰
And If you walk in the Field talking turn off your Motor from your Car , you are not in Russia with -50 degrees, IT will start again for sure, and you save some Diesel...
😆 I appreciate your opinion on the matter, but many have gone organic and I am now farming their ground or they went back to conventional farming. There's no money in it down here.
👍
