I was here in SoCal for the 2019 7.1 magnitude earthquake which is the largest earthquake that I have been in. Then about 6 months later, January 12, 2020, I was in the Philippines when the Taal Volcano erupted. My wife was with her family north of Manila but our house is about 12 miles north of the main crater. The volcanic earthquakes caused by the movement of magma felt stronger than the 7.1. I don't know if that's because of being much closer to the volcano than I was to the epicenter of the 7.1. All I know is that the house was shaking a lot from all of the volcanic earthquakes that we had which were a lot to where I lost count of them. Thanks for your updates.

I lived in Canoga park at the time. All my walls cracked open. I remember at first they said it was an 8.2 then they downgraded it to a 6.9. I remember they kept changing it. But with all the massive damage and for the quake to be able to knock down a freeway, I truly believe it was an 8.2. I remember the ground dropping 3 feet from under me then coming back up. I'll never forget.

Right before noon, we were driving past a cow field, and all of the cows were lying down. The only other time I have seen them all laying down was when we had an earthquake a few years back. I just got a new home on Requa in Northern California. The ocean and the mouth of the Klamath River are visible from the bay windows. If we get hit, we are going first because we are at the furthest western point of the Pacific Coast in the US. I hope these plates are just adjusting and relieving pressure and not a full-blown slip-faultline. My kids are Floorplan level 2, so they have a few more minutes than me. Lol. I'll see the wave frst. I am paraplegic, and just moved in today and said: "I could die here." I have been waiting for a place to open up in this area for 25 years. I hope we leave a little time left. I just learned how to live in a chair. Tough adjustment at 48. I've been waiting for someone to tell me I'm dreaming anyway about this beautiful house on the cliff above the ocean. My vdreams are coming true. It can't end now.

      My husband. Was driving
      his Big Truck just getting
      out of town ..
When it hit I ask him if he felt it ? His response was
he definitely felt something but just thought it was the road.
      He obviously wasn't in the
      middle of it.
      We lived in Roseburg, Or.
      at the time.
It was a terrible quake. !
Its gonna be worse when it hits this time.

October 17, 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake was 6.9 and affected San Francisco (Marina District) and the Nimitz Freeway double deck collapse in Oakland. The earthquake has been dubbed the “World Series Earthquake” because it struck at 5:04pm when the World Series game between San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s had just got underway at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. The game was being broadcast live across the nation when the earthquake struck and was caught live during the broadcast.

Hey earthmaster...one thing you could do besides postualating about the big one is start discussing the focal mechanisms of the earthquakes. They will tell you about whether the eq is generated as a result of extensional or compressional forces. You can also get a sense of direction. With AI you might be able to even quantify the stress and strain propagation dirctions which might be able to use as a prediction for next potential quake zone. You have great information but i think if you want to get better you need to evolve beyond reporting. Thanks for your awesome feed.

If there are quakes, even small ones then a that’s good sign. It means the plate is still moving. If it’s quite with no activity like in the southern region (palm desert/salton sea) areas that haven’t moved and inch nor had a quake in 300 years. That’s were you should be concerned. The fact that no movement has occurred in 300 years meaning 1 inch per year is going to be a massive quake with some insane movement once the fault finally slips in this region. So cal will be in shambles and Phoenix will definitely feel this one.
