Don't worry you'll get there!! I don't know if I would have any good advice for you (Im only just coming out of my own slump) but slumps happen. If you're interested in restarting I know you'll get through to the other side.
I was shocked, when I realized that I've read 13 book this month. It's the biggest amount of books I've read in a month ever. Really enjoyed your wrap up and vlogs this month 😊
Because of being in quarantine... I legit read 22 books in the month of April. Most books I read within a year lol. 🤣 I can feel I'll be able to finish my reading goal this year. Hope you guys will too! 💞 PS. Some of the books I read were really short like The Little Prince & Matilda, that's why I finished 22 books. 😂
If you love regency romance, I highly recommend Georgette Heyer’s books. She’s the queen of regency romance. I recommend Arabella, Grand Sophy, Cotillion.
Your videos are keeping me sane right now. I discovered booktube a few months ago and it helped me pull myself out of a 3.5 year reading slump (thanks college), so glad I found your channel!
I’m so jealous. I usually read about 15 a month and I only read 4 this month. I work from home and online orders have been crazy. I have absolutely no time for reading lately
You're like a whole different side of booktube I love it. Almost everyone reads the same books and you can see the difference in their taste from their start till now
Wow that's a lot of books. It took me the whole month to finish 1 book. (Exactly 1 month, started on the 1st and finished on the 30th: Priory of the Orange Tree).Granted it was a huge book but still. Use to be able to read that much but my eyes won't allow me to read too much before they start blurring. Look forward to seeing what you read next.
If you like regency romances I recommend "To Have and to Hoax " by Martha Waters, it is about an already married couple who married because of love but fall out and now trying to gain back their significant other's attention and finding each other again. It's so funny and full of joy, quick read.
Confession, I really liked romancing the duke. It had this whole fandom thing going on and I have read quite a number of mainstream romances and I have never really come across a blind hero. And the author never made it feel like it is something that has to be changed or cured, so I loved it! Also, read edenbrooke because of your vlogs and I loved that they became friends first and the million ways the hero told the heroine he loved her without really telling her was lovely!
I finished three books in April: Artemis by Andy Weir, The Circle by Dave Eggers, and The History of Reading by Open University. I enjoyed the first two books so thoroughly that I had to stay up until very late to finish them. I will be starting The Royal Assassin sometime soon, I have it as an ebook from my library.
Congrats Regan! I recently read the Wallflower series and the first book of the Highwayman series (both historical romances) as recommend by one of your viewers in the comments of your last wrap up and loved them all! 💓
I read all of the Spindle Cove series by Tessa Dare and I LOVED it, it has five books and like four novellas??? And it was just a joy. I think you should check out the Duke Dynasty series by Sabrina Jeffries, its about this incredible family and the family dynamics and relationships are the BEST! I love all the siblings so much and they make me so so sooo happy and I just love big families since I come from one myself.
I've been eyeing Dangerous Alliance since I snagged the ARC at work months ago. Since you had so much fun with it (despite the flaws) I might finally pick it up! xx
I am also ahead on my good reads goal, so that is shocking and exciting. I've never read any NK Jemison books, but I just picked up the Broken Earth Trilogy and I am excited to read that soon.
Of the Castle ever after books I highly recommend When a scot ties the knot (book 3): The female invented a fake fiancé to get out of having to have a Season and started writing letters to mantain the lie to her family, and unknown to her the name she invented was the name of an actual person and he's been getting her letters all along. That book and A week to be wicked are my fav Tessa Dare books :)
Read 12 books in April, which I'm so proud of considering the current situation worldwide. Have finished the Illuminae files this April too. Sooo amazing. It makes me happy to see the series on your shelf :)
I was so close to reading 8 books in a month but I got to 7 and I finished one book in the first hours of May! But I definitely had a good reading month! I really liked all the books I read!
I read the last wish by Andrzej Sapkowski last month and started rereading Queen Of Shadow literally on the 28th April so finishing it this month then this month I want to reread Outlander by Diana Gabaldon because I read it 4 years ago and want to see if I still love it as much as I did. Then I want to read empire of storms because I hate to admit I haven't read it. Then maybe Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth
When I first read Storm Front, I really didn't enjoy it. A few years later, a friend got me to go back and read Fool Moon (Book 2), and I was surprised to find Harry was actually a slightly better character than I remembered. That got me reading Books 3 & 4, which I felt each consecutively got a little better in terms of characters, world-building, geeky in-jokes and banter... and from Book 5 on, I've felt like every single book has continued to get better by an order of magnitude compared to the last one. I can't wait to hear what you think as you work your way through the series.
I also read more in the month of April then I have so far this year. I didn't finish any books in Jan., read 2 in Feb, 4 in Mar, and 6 in April! Hopefully this means I'm getting out of my slumpy mood.
Hello wen are you doing a book shopping haul? I love tho watch do,s and i am so happy for you wen you find you,re books that so want😄😁👋🏼👍🏼 bye have a Nice day and keep on reading
I agree, I listened to the Romancing the Duke audiobook and found it mediocre compared to other regency romance novels I’ve read before. I’m kind of hesitant to try Tessa Dare’s other books now
Im reading a novel thst i think you like its the eighth life by Nino Haratischivili. Its a family saga set in Georgia ( the country not state) and russia its goes through wwii, the reign of lenin and so on. Its also has some romance in it. Its so good and uts hard to put down. Hope you are doing well!
somehow i read 12 books in april! one of them was a historical romance called "to have and to hoax". it wasn't my favourite but i do wanna ready more from the genre 💘
disastart I read that book too. I gave it 3/5. I was just very frustrated with the lack of communication. Miss/lack is communication is a trope I don’t enjoy.
@@LoveAndLabcoats i gave it the same rating and that was my main problem with is as well, since the book would have been 50 pages long if they had had a decent talk at the start haha
I've moved to a new place in March and it was exhausting. Ever since then I read so little. And it made me so sad to be honest. It felt wrong 😭 Read 2 books in April and 2 in March. But I feel like May will be better. 😊
I read 9 books in April, 1 of them being the Duchess deal (seen from your vlog) 😂 and oh my gosh I loved it, I listened to the audiobook and it was such a fun listen
I'm so glad you read and loved Edenbrook! I really enjoyed it, too. I tried some Tessa Dare books awhile back, but didn't like them as much...maybe I need to give her another chance! Thanks for the recommendations :)
on the topic of Regency romance i'm reading A Wicked Kind of Husband by Mia Vincy right now and highly recommend it! the banter in this book is AMAZING and makes me laugh out loud it's just a really good time
I recommend Night in Eden by Candice Proctor! One of my favourite regency romance and it’s set in Australia (my country). A lady gets convicted for “killing” her husband so she gets sent to Australia. She is hired by a Lord (I think) who is in need of a wet nanny for his newborn because his wife died during childbirth. I found it intense but a great book overall.
How do you read soo many soo quickly! I so want to do that but wow thats impressive. There must be a video you have done on your reading techniques or how you can read them so quickly! Will have to look
"It will make your teeth hurt it's so sweet" I got really confused there for a second then felt dumb once I figured out what you meant! And Good Job!! I'm about 3/4 of the way done with The Toll which I read every chance i get but with school and two jobs, it's hard to finish a 600 page in any reasonable amount of time lol.
Omg what you said about Jim Butcher's descriptions reminded me of this post about how male writer's describe women and actual women debunking their lack of understanding female anatomy it was so funny oh my gosh
Have you read The Edge Chronicles? I'm currently rereading them and am absolutely shocked at all the dark elements and character deaths I didn't remember from reading them as a child. The worldbuilding is amazing though haha.
The Glass Hotel seems like it'll give me what I thought The Last would give me but didn't. I've read One Night in Montreol too and she seems to have this specific style which I can only compare to Sylvia Plath, a sort of sad realism
Hi! Loved your video! I was wondering do you use any kind of special lighting for your videos or are you just relying on natural light. I was thinking of starting a channel myself and wondered if I need "professional" lighting to film a good video.
Elizabeth Nickle you don’t at all, you might get some spoilers for the earlier books if you read the later ones first, but it’s only a few lines and the spoiler is pretty much just the couple get together and it’s a romance so
technically no, but previous couples are interwined in the books so it's best to read them in order so all of the encounters with friends that are had make sense
well done! I have just started editing my April wrap up and just realized I read 19 books 😂 I have no idea how this happened, it's way more than I usually read 😂😂

Her books are so funny! Cotillion and The talisman ring are my faves. Maybe. There are so many!
thank you so much! I'm searching for regency romance books lately, and still haven't decided which to buy. now I know what I'll choose :D
Pluto You’re welcome! Also fyi her books do not contain sex scenes so they aren’t smutty regency romance.
Omg YESSSSS. THEY ARE SO GOOD. SHE’S the QUEEN. I love These Old Shades.

College got me into a 5 year slump. Totally can relate :) I have been out of it for almost 3 yeara now, but I am still catching up 😁
I read 26 books in April, yeah I'm that bored
🤔🤔 average length? One a day even at 2x speed seems not quite doable.
I’m so jealous. I usually read about 15 a month and I only read 4 this month. I work from home and online orders have been crazy. I have absolutely no time for reading lately
Joe Courtney if someone’s a fast reader and spends most of the day every day reading then it definitely is possible lol

I didn't read a lot in April, but I did start reading more regularly so hoping to continue that trend in May, and maybe even amp it up.
If you like regency romances I recommend "To Have and to Hoax
" by Martha Waters, it is about an already married couple who married because of love but fall out and now trying to gain back their significant other's attention and finding each other again. It's so funny and full of joy, quick read.

Also, read edenbrooke because of your vlogs and I loved that they became friends first and the million ways the hero told the heroine he loved her without really telling her was lovely!
"Most Likely" sounds really good! I love stories with female friendships, and this one sounds really empowering.
I’m hooked on regency romance because of you lol. It’s a dark rabbit hole.
I finished three books in April: Artemis by Andy Weir, The Circle by Dave Eggers, and The History of Reading by Open University. Loved Rosamund and Daisy in The Governess Game. Oh and Millicent who could forget that little doll of a character, Her death scenes were the best 😉

Ooh Dresden Files! I started that series on audiobook ages ago, but never finished it. I really need to do that at some point.

Dresden >>> all contemporary/romance. Hope you do more of those... thing about Dresden is it was written in the 90s? And the audiobooks are great.
