I got 100 ml bottle of fumerie turque about a month ago. It was a big gamble for me as a college student, it came out as a huge win. I think I completed big 3 of uncle serge with this one (fille en auguilles, chergui, fumerie turque)with a little brother ecrin de fumee. Thank you for introducing this masterpieces to me. You are still the best in the game Marc... I own the current version (From the Gratte-Ceil Collection along with Chene in this format) and it is beautiful... I still have a sample of this from way back in the day from Lucky Scent when it was still available in the 50ml bottles and it still smells pretty much the same... Some of the lasting balls of the current release are missing though as obviously it no longer has that Oak Moss extract that your bottle lists on the back of your old box but again all in all it still hits those notes you'd expect... Pissy, Powdery, Leathery, Honeyed Tobacco... It is still still one of my favorites from the house... Love this juice... I am wearing it around the house now after listening to you talk about it... Just great stuff... Also I totally agree with you as you are going to regret that score... It deserved the extra bottle... I'd bet you are regretting it already... ^_~ Awesome job as always...

These descriptions, man...I felt the love throughout this review with your details of the multiple facets of this scent and I could see the passion and wind kind of come out of you when you had to get to the pricing and versatility. I personally haven't been a super crazy fan of Serge frags, but I have an appreciation for their artistry (I enjoy 5 O'Clock au Gingembre for its scent quality, but it just isn't my rodeo for personal tastes). This sounds very challenging, even more so than Chergui -- that hay note just doesn't agree with me, personally -- so I may not be rushing to try this, but perhaps one day I will get a gander at this one for sampling. But overall, I enjoyed this review, just to see what you were talking about. Another one in the books, for sure. Take care, man, and I look forward to your next videos. A tout a l'heure. :)
I blind bought serge Lutens chergui last night not knowing anything about this house or fragrance. Just based off this some reviews.. now you post this about their house. I’ll take it as a good sign I did good choosing them 😂
Yeah chergui to a trained nose as mine is GORGEOUS. but I didn't always like it. I bought it awhile ago and put it to the back of my closet cause i thought it smelled like powder and nothing but it. But this passed year as my nose matured I gave it another shot and wore it alllll winter. It's a STUNNER. you did good, at first sniff if you don't enjoy it don't give up on her she will sweep you off your feet eventually.

Great review Mark! I bought this two weeks ago. One sniff of it was enough for me to take the decision of purchasing immediately. Besides the fact that Serge Lutens have moved it to the 100 mL black bottles, which are way more expensive. In my opinion, this is how I imagined Chergui would smell like before actually testing it. I have them both, and they’re ones of the best choices when it comes to tobacco scents. Well done Sheldrake, and yeah he deserves more respect. Tip: if you want a fragrance with a real hookah smell, try the new Tobacolor by Christian Dior. Awesome scent.
I'd like to see a review of Fille en... I've yet to try it and I have seen it on some discount sites. Couldn't find Fumerie Turque, but have been looking
I've sampled this one twice. If I remember I got some Musc ravaguer in the drydown. Very interesting, mature and enjoyable scent. I have been hunting for an old school bottle (for a reasonable price) to match the rest of mine. That new bottle would drive me up a wall sitting with the rest. Great review as usual.
Nothing beats old school, Serge. This is one of the best. And unfortunately, one that to my nose had been noticeably reformulated. Glad I backed up on it.
Yeah I saw another reviewer say the reformulation is not as good and he actually says why fragrance companies go and reformulate. His name is Aaron Terence Hughes
@@peterrak9554 Honestly, the non export line from Lutens is still really good. For the most part they did an amazing job with the reformulations. The ones that I think are not as good are Ambre Sultan, Chergui, Fumerie Turque, and Mandarine Mandarin. But haven't compared all. I feel the non export line from Lutens is such an overlooked one. So many outstanding perfumes, unlike anything else out there. There is where most Lutens treasures lay.
This is the best tobacco fragrance i have ever know...Negative point for me, the ( price x ml ) of course! I have one, but it's running out. Excelent review!
I was very surprised to see this in the old bottle. This and Borneo must be old bottles of yours. There were so many bottles I meant to get when I first was getting into fragrance that got moved into the bell jars and now these crazy 100ml black bottles for $375 😭 like these and Louve...
