  • Today we are looking at the future of public transportation, and the vehicles that will change how we move around our cities for good.
    Busses, trains, trams, and taxis do a great job at moving multiple people around with the use of a single vehicle, but it's not hard to see that this tech is dated and due a serious upgrade.
    The Future of Public Transportation, Including: Uber Elevate, Hyperloop by Elon Musk, Skytran, Olli and Segway.

    the thing is. We can built all of them but sometimes it is the question is it really necessary? Just like flying cars, we can build flying cars but we already have flying busses which are called planes

    • @MOSMASTERING
      @MOSMASTERING 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Planes need an airport and runway and refuelling. VTOL is more like a taxi, obviously that's the point. It's the benefits of an electric car, in a flying machine.
      Is it necessary? I started driving about 20 years ago. There was no traffic in my area, places to park, fuel was cheaper. These days, I might as well walk. Maximum speed in my town is 20mph at most. Its non stop traffic, stopping and starting, no parking, cost of fuel, angrier drivers, more danger. Its not sustainable to keep widening motorways, clearing multiple crashes daily and selling every individual their own car that spends 95% or mofe of their life just parked.

    • @dhdufmrnfidjejjdndudi3150
      @dhdufmrnfidjejjdndudi3150 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it is not necessary at all because there something called an airplane, and it also stops in towns and carries much more loads, making the "uber air" unnecessary and inefficient. These "future" tech "$olutions" are just bullshit, the real future is Trains, Buses, Walkibility, Mixed Zoning, Urban Planning, and no cars and there stupid infrastructure.

    1. Uber Air. It would be very expensive to run so only rich people can afford it = useless transportation. If we assume it can somehow be done cheaply, it is also not solving anything as it has very low capacity. Imagine having thousands of these flying machines flying machines in the city. It won't be very nice to live there. And thousand is not even a lot, that's what one train can carry.
    2. Hyperloop. Vacuums are not easy to maintain, it is impossible to make it without any leaks. so you would have to have vacuum pump every 10 meters or giant vacuum pumping station every kilometer. Too expensive, too complicated. And I'm not even talking about safety and other issues.
    3. SkyTrain. Same problem as with UberAir. Low capacity, not practical. You may say like hmm by public transportation I'll get there in 30 minutes, but by skytrain It would take just 10 minutes. However, you would wait in line of people 1 hour to pods to arrive.
    4. Autonomous minibus. Again, low capacity. Not good for cities. Just use regular buses
    5. Segway S pod. That's just electric wheelchair.
