Heir Apparent is easily the heaviest fucking song they’ve ever done. The intro sounds like you’re some medieval king walking to your throne among the blood of your enemies 😂
The transition from absolute beauty that is coil into the BRUTAL heir apparent, never gets old. Also for a band known for their outros, this one rocks.
I don't like the random changes in Heir Apparent where it switches kinda randomly to a flute or might be an acoustic guitar idk lead I think it should've stayed brutal throughout the whole song.
I remember buying this album and playing it on a wild camping tour around Scotland with my mate and gf of the time.... Great memories! Beautiful views, good music, great company.
16 years of waiting... 16. Mikael's daughter is 17 years old and she sings in the new album, it feels like if he had been waiting for her to sing with him 😂
To my knowledge, "Coil" has only been performed live once which was on a Swedish morning news show. The reason was that there wasn't enough time to actually perform any of their other songs.
@@alexfilma16 "Born of cement but it's me who's tomato." from Harvest is a good one. Or "In his shadow I am choking a virgin, monster." from Beneath the Mire. Ghost of Perdition has a ton of good ones, too: "Sisters bringing the wieners, penetrating in a line." and "Even when I'm drunk on morning early days, white women really need to live."
That’s the charm, I hated growls before Opeth, but their musicianship was just out of this world. Now I don’t mind growls, and Mikael’s growls specifically match Opeth’s music.
In Heir apparent I could do without the flute sections, they're too random and the song should finish after that build up of noise before the final riff. I think it could have been trimmed down by a couple minutes to make it more concise but still it is my favourite Opeth song.
These 2 songs to start the Watershed album have everything that makes Opeth awesome and one of a kind…Beauty and the Beast…
One of the best prog metal albums of all time. Opeth RULES! 🤟

It is up there, but i would go to Blackwater Park in terms of heaviness and just pure destruction. HA still a favorite nonetheless ❤️🔥
Agreed. It's a good pause.

the best piece of music in history no matter what genre . imo
Opeth always do good contrasts between accoustic and electric, regular and metal vocals
Watershed keeps moving up my list of favorite Opeth albums.
Huge growl fan.
So I miss the growls badly.
They're back 😳
Not anymore buddy, we're so back!!
Agreed

Axe is outstanding in this entire album, blast beats and all!!!

They did a couple of songs that morning. Burden being one of them.

All time favourite Opeth song.
Mine too!
These songs together deserves a James Bond movie
This album was my gateway into the GENIUS of OPETH 🤘 It will ALWAYS be my favorite !!!!!
heir apparent is the best thing i've heard from them so far. i've only started listening to opeth a little white ago
One of the best progressive metal bands of all time.
Great reaction to two amazing songs
Love your reactions!! ❤
🔥🔥❤Opeth❤🔥🔥
The female vocals was done by Axe the drummers missus❤
Opeth knows how to mess with the musical part of the brain alright 😂😂❤❤
@6:52🙌🖤☠
I've never seen anyone enforce reactions to the camera as much as you two
Every time I hear Opeth I think I'm gonna shut it off because I'm not into the harsh vocals, but the musicianship pulls me in every f@^$%&^ time.

Listen to Bleak from the Blackwater Park album.
Mikael's transitions from growling to angelic are phenomenal.
@@p.s.r.3588 Also Steven Wilsons vocals are great and the harmonies with Mikael are just beautiful.
Could do with a post-reaction to the genius you just witnessed!
its still a great song
Came for the 3:56
No thoughts and reflections after? Just over and done with, huh?... 🤔
The only time this band has ever come even close to proper DEATH. Fans of this band need to be Cynic fans. we're prog bros.
its anneke van greisbergen i think
It's Nathalie Lorichs, Axenrot's girlfriend at the time. Anneke's voice is much twangier.
Anneke fuckin rules and is a total legend but it’s Nathalie Lorichs

U Guys have zero music knowledge. Why are u even a band?
pretty rude
@impulse4079 why is it rude?
I guess because they want to be? Sorry that makes you cry.
@@jmarasco510 Why is it rude? Take a good hard look in the mirror and think about that yourself.
@Mattseak wow what a sensitive little flower u are.
