Bleak was the first song I ever heard by Opeth. It took me some time to get used to the growls since I'd never heard that vocal style before, but they've been one of my favorite bands ever since.
Studio version has Steven Wilson singing the clean vocal part. I had no idea who he was when I found opeth as it took me a few more years to discover SW and all his stuff.
Blackwater Park the first record I brought from Opeth. I played it so much, I wore off the printing on the cassette. The only other cassettes I every did that too, was the Heaven and Hell and The Mob Rules albums. I love your Elvis reactions....more please.
I've been a fan of opeth since high school (as a reference, pre-2000) and tho I agree studio recordings for the most part sound best, as far as live performances go, opeth ALWAYS knocks it out of the park.
My favorite Opeth song. When it goes into clean vocals that riff and groove just does it for me.
Deliverance has entered the chat.
If only for that ending groove that will never leave anyone's brain
Same here. Only wish they made shorter, more focused structured songs. I feel prog metal doesn't get what prog rock was doing in the 70s.

Opeth at peak perfection
or "bleak perfection"... ;-)

Always knew he'd be involved, assumed it was Per 😂

Nobody growls like Akerfeldt. Nobody.
Bloodbath vocalist is better in my opinion
@@xavierxavier166 lol
@@xavierxavier166 Ways to the grave is my favorite from Bloodbath.
So good
Great song! I'm curious, does Suzi ever comment on vocal shredding styles in comparison to her own?
lol they can barely utter two sentences about the music, it's usually 'oh wow venue'
The studio version is much better, but i enjoyed this one too
I think this live version is short
