  • Peter Vaughan samples four newly converted campervans from Wellhouse Leisure on a variety of Japanese base vehicles - Nissan Serena, Honda Elysion, Toyota Alphard and Nissan NV350 Caravan. All offer cut-price campervanning, but which should you choose? One of them even has an oven and a built-in toilet, another drives almost like a sports car and they start at only £25,000!

    Nice to see Peter reviewing something different. These wouldn't be for me but it's always great to see what choice is out there. Thanks as always, best motorhome / campervan reviews on the net because you take the time to be comprehensive and non-biased.

      We have looked at adding a small pop top to this which can be done but it does add to the price.

      We looked at these imports. I love them but they're gas guzzlers. Probably why a 2008 only has 24000 miles on it.

    Did I miss something about the pop tops have a bed?
    When I had my T25 (I was thinking about the driving position over the front wheels in that van just before Peter mentioned it) I tended to use the roof bed when I was staying for more than one night on a campsite. This meant that I could leave the bed made up and the downstairs in lounging configuration.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because these are smaller vehicles than a VW T6, roof space is quite small, too. You can have a roof bed in the Alphard (and the Elysion, I think) but it would be for small kids only

    What a great feature !! Fully Functioning campers that don't require a second mortgage . Small but beautifully formed and much more in the spirit of the original VW . The quality of the conversions looks really excellent too . Really enjoyed this

    Had my Elysion nearly 5 years, fitted rear kitchen unit and full width rock n roll bed and I love it! Rides like a limo, super reliable, 30 plus on a run, even sold my 7 series because this is a better car. Dont worry about running costs over a vw diesel, you will make that back because they just dont break down...

    Great Job once again Peter on this very different take on road vehicle conversions. Too say there are 1500 types to choose from!! Whoa, but the one's you highlighted and tested look very impressive and if budget is concerned rather good pricing too. (P.S loved the transition between shots Batman LoL!!) The strange thing is that these vehicles weren’t imported to us. Another question is how they operate, and how much they cost!! My problem is that it isn’t an electric vehicle!! I’m never returning to diesel or petrol!!

      @MotorhomeCampervan  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Vikenze shows how an EV camper can be done but it's very small inside. The base vehicles need more range (and lower cost) before EV campervans become mainstream

    The Serena would make a great one-man and his-dog touring vehicle, but the Nissan BV350 was the most disappointing looking on the inside. That layout did not work for me at all.
