A great review, Peter, and what a lovely selection of campers. I particularly liked the Ford Nugget, but VW have done a great conversion of the Multivan.
I think we are seeing the new age of campervans as they start to adopt the more modern looks and features of cars inside and out and this is of course reflected in the price. The days are gone where the dashboard looks like an early 2000's work van and I think this could push more people into using campervans as their every day. VW has some seriously nice designs, they always have compared to the others in terms of exterior looks. I think the Ford, and even though the Nugget, especially the one with the fixed high roof - perhaps the most ideal inside for me, just doesn't look dare I say as COOL as the VW.
Why only Induction cooker on mains hook-up? My induction hob only pulls 1800w on start-up. Solar, decent battery system and 3000w inverter should be fine.
Hi Peter , have you seen the 3 Chinese campers that drove all the way from china . I think that they are on Iveco chassis and have 2 or 3 pull outs on them , Not bad for a 5 or 6 metre van . Enjoy the show and thanks for letting us be there.
Will we get the nugget plus trend in uk? Shame the new small vans don’t put in magnetic fly screens. Such an easy fit. Also it’s about time they saved us space on bulky thermal windscreen covers and put some built in blinds in. Prices are serious it’s about time they sorted it.
Hard to choose a favourite. Great innovative ideas. Some more suitable for the continent with the rear slide outs. All in all a great video and well put together with plenty of information. Keep up the great work 👍
I wish they had RV shows like this in the USA. Showing the VW California is just a tease. We can't purchase any of these cool vans in the USA. I will have to get a conversion when and if I buy one.
It’s always great to see the latest developments, but how much will they cost? When a caddy sized camper costs nearly £50K? Thanks a great video as ever Peter keep up the good work
Great review Peter, must have taken a lot of planning. Those micro campers are great when the weather is good, but as 2 ladies in a Cali Caddy in South Wales found out last week, not so good in the rain. Some great features on the Cali concept but it just looks too low inside compared to the current model. Cheers K.
Hugely interested in a VW camper, Buzz will be a great camper also. The only issue is the uncertainty of diesel / electric. The infrastructure for electric only isnt here yet
@@MotorhomeCampervan Aye, Sunak gave out mixed signals with his emissions! But I'm in Scotland and the government are sticking with their targets, but don't think they will be applied in retrospect. We are not looking for big, I think a Buzz or T6 would do us fine, me the wife and 2 daughters, my son at uni, in a few years they wont want to go on holiday with us, so will just be me and the wife
We are waiting for the real successor of the VW T6.1 California..., the one on a Ford chassis ;) This thing, just like the ID.Buzz-based camper, is a dead end. Regards!
We've been driving the California for seven years and this new design is a step backwards. There has always been a lack of space in Cali and now there will be even less of it. The new T7 is nicely made, but it is more of a family VAN than a camping car. I wonder what the sales of this model will look like?!@@MotorhomeCampervan
Thank you for a great insight, the California l ooks very nice fancy .. can u imagine how much its going to cost to repair anything that fails or breaks on van in the future with all this bespoke equipment. Prepare to hand over that second kidney.
@@MotorhomeCampervan its a nice thought. A pity that van manufacturers have less trust than you. Why don't they give good warranty's like we get with cars? Fiat reduce their warranty on van conversions to 2 years. What does that say about their vans? I would guess 3 years for a VW.
@@robertcook2572 I run a long wheelbase transporter camper as our second car already so I'm OK with the length. If it's reduced in height too much though that really starts to rule this platform out for me.
@@robertcook2572 Not many well off middle aged people juggle cushions and go to toilet in their kitchen before they go to bed. A decent van conversion with a fixed bed, bathroom, seperate kitchen and dedicated eating area is more usable and, in many cases, far cheaper.

I enjoyed watching the Video 😊

Motorhomes at Düsseldorf coming next.
Have you seen a price yet?

Where would you put the inverter and batteries in such a small camper? Storage already looks tight

Love the Citroen H van😍
Great to see one that isn't a coffee truck LOL!

I've not seen any prices or spec yet for the new Nugget in the UK but it is clearly coming here. Only SWB pop-top version has been announced so far
Reference the external beeping noises You know you’re reversing so you only need the beeping outside 🤪😊👍

The New California Is definitely one of my favourites 😊
Its got to be £100 GRAND! The base vehicle is £60K!

Totally agree - you need good weather for a micro-camper, or at least a good inflatable awning and some experience of camping!
are these coming to the UK
The new California will. Is that the one you were interested in?
Hugely interested in a VW camper, Buzz will be a great camper also. The only issue is the uncertainty of diesel / electric. The infrastructure for electric only isnt here yet
The Buzz is considerably small inside than a T6, so it is limited as a camper. Diesel will be with us for a long time yet...

But the Multivan is a pure VW product, the T7 van will be a Ford that's had some VW input (still Ford mechanicals). VW fans may prefer the former!

Me too, can't wait to try one!
Am I the only one to find that digital screen, masquerading as a dashboard, in the Nugget absolutely ghastly.
I've got used to the digital display in my Mustang, even if I generally prefer old-school dials

Is it just an optical illusion or does the roof on this van seem a fair bit lower than on a T6?
It seems from other reviews that it is slighly lower. The van is also significantly longer, which may preclude its use as a daily car replacement.

VW Campers. Designed to be ideal for young couples but mainly affordable for middle aged people.
They're ideal for well-off middle-aged people. I'm amazed that you can't see this.

They say that the VW ID Buzz is retro but it looks more like a pregnant rollerskate.
If you're after retro, Citroen have done it properly.
Pregnant rollerskate - LOL!
New Copa 500 ?
The Copa isn't yet confirmed for the UK but we are getting the Renault Playa
That VW T7 is really REALLY cramped tbh
It feels smaller than a T6.1 but looks very appealing as a day van/weekender
A VW ID Buzz with a gas cooker, how rediculous can it be.
It's better than being tied to campsites with hook ups.

I hate the new VW kitchen. It is a waste of storage. Design over practicality.
