@rkan2 not a fighter pilot, though, man. If he was a private pilot he was probably doing stuff like Cessnas, right? If you're doing that for a love, a dream would for sure be to go in one of these, I don't think the person was saying Teds dream was to get in a plane
I'm really questioning the narrative here. There was a German TH-camr who got to fly with an Eurofighter from the German military and he had to go through a full day of medical and physical testing + countless safety instructions and so on, to be even allowed inside of the plane. So I guess that can't be that spontaneous.. or they just don't give a f?
@@billystanford275 He is often reciting aircraft types and flight numbers on Ted's notebook. There is an article about him becoming a pilot if he didn't become a presenter. So yeah..
SKY SPORT: George, we've arranged for you to do loops in a jet fighter plane. LANDO: ...and what have you organised for me?! SKY SPORT: Game of cricket against Oscar.
I love listening to Bjork but hadn't actually heard this track before and I was thinking, one of my favorite things about watching these Sky F1 specials is, the music is always on point and right up my alley. A feeling further solidified by hearing Air right after it.
I was gonna say this!!!! What a banger! Amazing track, David Arnold is underrated. May be a Bjork song, but it's his at heart. Even some Air later on too!
@@ethownzbh I'm not a regular viewer and one of my first takeaways was "wow, they really pulled out all the stops with the music licensing." Good to hear it's a regular occurrence.
Kids, can 100% attest to joining the RAF as an aircraft engineer. I loved my time, which then led me to join BAe and was part of the design team on (Eurofighter) Typhoon. And always remember, if flying was hard it'd be the groundcrew doing it🤔 Well done Sky Sports F1 and really nice words from Ted too. Having flown back seat a number of times, I knew exactly what you felt
I'm an American F1 fan, so as such I'll always have pride in our F-22's, F-15s, F-16s and F/A-18s. That being said, the Typhoon is a proper piece of machinery, and we're proud to fly alongside it. The Typhoon is the Spitfire to the F-16's Mustang. Or the F-16 is the Mustang to the Typhoon's Spitfire. Either way, proud to fly side by side. Cheers, RAF!
Honestly seeing these 2 motor racing duo and the joy they brought to the 2 RAF pilots well that worth the watch. Ted and George I am sure will never forget this moment and you know our men and women in blue deserve all the recognition they deserve. What a lovely sight to see!
I am sure George and Ted were absolutely thrilled being up there. What an experience. I have to say I was impressed by Ted. Unlike George he is not used to Pulling G's, but he did it anyway. Respect!
George looks that he could do that every day, and at full G. What an experience for them both, and the RAF will even pay you to do it if you're good enough too.
Lol they where not pulling many G forces.. george might be used to lateral g forces but positive and negative forces is a completely another thing. At 9 g George would pas out just like anybody who isnt trained for this
@@User05199 There's quite a few familiarisation flights here on youtube of military personnel in the US getting taken to the 9g club in the F-16, you would be surprised how many of them don't actually pass out.
Ofcourse the duration of pulling g's matters. Most of the time those are short pulls. U gotta understand a typhoon or f16 can pull 9 g's without losing speed
This is exactly why I love aviation and fighter jets! Out of this world. Hopefully I'll be one of the Lietenants one dy flying these beautiful jets over the earth.
My girlfriend works here and does all the batteries for these typhoons. These things are absolutely insane. I will happily spend hours by the airfield watching takeoffs when I visit her. Absolutely incredible bits of kit.
Respect that George gets in there, well now there might not only be Formula 1 for him. It's been like this for me since I was up in heaven, he calls out to me. I hope pilots that it's the same for George.
George looks like if you recorded this in black and white he would be a spitfire pilot, let's have a cup of tea then go kick the chocks, has this made him want to get his pilots licence maybe he has , actually getting up in the Typhoon and a refuel at altitude , jealous, what an experience . Go RAF.
This segment was super cool. In 20 years time assuming Ted is still working and George has retired from F1(hopefully as a multi-WDC), I'd love to watch a series of these two trying out different fighter planes from the various air forces around the world. Honestly Russell actually looks like a proper fighter pilot in that flight suit
Ted didnt look half bad either.
He aced the voiceover too
Just wished the journo would shut up and let George chat with the pilot.
like how when someone looks like a pilot wearing pilot outfit, whaaaaat????????

Amen. He kind of looks around to see if he is being pranked. Tes is the every man. I think a lot of us his age identify with him.
I don’t think that’s how it works
Ted Kravitz is such a putz.
Should of pressed the ejector seat on him mid air. Most biased reporter in F1!!
I would of been crying my eyes out at that point.
This is truly beautiful. So much respect to the pilots that are able to fly these machines at full potential.
And the engineers/flight ops/people that keep them airborne
to be fair, this aircraft would not be able to even fly if it were not for its incredibly complicated computers

Ted's little face when they told him, how precious.
I like Ted ,really like his presence for sky f1.

Amazing seeing the wash over the canopy going at speed from inside.

George genuinely looked the part.
He has the look of a dashing 1940s pilot
No doubt if he wasn't an F1 driver, he could be a fighter pilot. Same goes with all of the other F1 drivers.
