Tips To Look Out For When Changing Transmission Filter And Fluid On A Hino 268 @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 #hinotruck#truckrepair#truckmaintenance
Bro, you’re awesome I followed everything you said I did my 2010 Hino 268 It was piece of cake and those bolts you mentioned on top of the transmission oil pan were loosed to.. Thank you so much for everything 🙏
Hello I have checked with Allison dealer they say when you drop transmission fluid should add 15 Quarts Because I try to check through the dipstick could not get it right for some reason Do you have an idea how to forgot out please? Thank you for all your hard work.
I'm a trucker with no mechanical knowledge. How did I ever get a class A CDL? Lol, I don't even know! Actually I do know and it wasn't easy because I was 47 years old when I did it, I wish I had done it in my twenties because it would have probably been a little easier. Anyhoo since I don't have any mechanical knowledge, that makes my job a bit harder, but I'm willing to learn. Seems that with cars, transmission fluid is checked with the car running. I'm in a 2015 hino 268 I'm assuming that transmission fluid is also checked with the engine running in a truck as well. I'm asking because I figured you would know. Also shops are always asking me do I have a Cummins or Allison engine? I don't know because I can't read it because I can't see what it says, even on a ladder. Thanks and subscribed ❤
It sounds like the rear seal itself. Check your Yoke Bolt and make sure it haven't came loose. If so remove your Drive Shaft and tighten re tighten the Bolt.
HELLO, I HAVE A QUESTION, I SEE THE WARNING LIGHT OF (INHIBIT) AND THE TRANSMISSION ON MY HINO 268 2088, HOW CAN I DELETE IT, SINCE IT LOCKS THE TRANSMISSION AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE TRUCK TO START, I APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS !
Good question! When you look at the Owner's Manual it says: Automatic Transmission, TES389 approved fluid change every 25,000 miles (40,000km). Automatic Transmission, TES295 approved fluid change every 75,000 miles (120,000km). I personally prefer 75,000 miles or once a year.
Any chance I can get your email and send you a couple videos of the hesitation I’m having in my 2012 on taking off that would be extremely helpful. Thanks also for your response I greatly appreciated it

You are correct with checking your Transmission fluid with the Engine running. You have a Japanese Manufacturer Engine J08.
Do you have any videos on how to adjust or replace the front axle bearing?
Not yet 🤔
What about your transmission cooler? Do you need to drain that? It was not mentioned in the video. Thanks.
No sir, just the two filters and fluid in the pan.
How many miles should this change be done? And thanks for this video
Alot depends on the type of fluid that is in the Transmission. You should change it at least once a year or every 100,000 miles to be safe.
Temperature sensor on the transmission?? 268 hino
Is those filter numbers good for a 2019 hino 268 as well?
You may want to check with your local Dealer.
Great video as always
👍🏽
Are these the same part numbers for a 2018 Hino 338? Allison transmission as well.
I would say yes, but please check with your local Hino Dealer. And give them the last (8) of your Vin#
Do you have to change both filter at the same time?
Not really,
You can get away with changing the outer filter and fluid and you will be fine.
Mine is leaking from that rear fin on the back below the rear seal . Why is it leaking there ?
It sounds like the rear seal itself. Check your Yoke Bolt and make sure it haven't came loose. If so remove your Drive Shaft and tighten re tighten the Bolt.
I have a 2016 Hino 338, will this be the same process?
If I am not mistaken,it should be the same.

I'm afraid that can be a number of things. Your Vehicle need to be connected to a scanner to find the proper cause.
How often should the transmission fluid changed?
Good question!

How many liters of transmission fluid should I use
Expect to use at least 10qts

What brand of transmission oil do you recommend? 6:53
@jllauger21ify The Owner's Manual recommend TES 295 & 389 Approved Fluid. I personally use Pennzoil ATF Dexron III.
