Hello again Chase 👍 Eagle 🦅 is a firm favourite with us old ABBA fans, it's the first track on their 1977 album ABBA "The Album" and also features in ABBA "The Movie". I'm afraid you got to listen to the shorter version of album track😱 which is ashame. Another reactor ( Christian oazzuro ) has left you a video link to the original video, it also appears in"The Movie" please if you get the chance watch it the you'll understand why this is a favourite to us old ABBA fans😂 Another great video reaction, until the next one. Stay Safe, keep smiling 😀 🇬🇧🧐
In every song you will see a different side of them. They can compose and sing "any" kind of music and any style. If you want something unexpected try for instance Put On Your White Sombrero.
It would be hilarious for Chase to react to "Put on Your White Sombrero", just to see the baffled look on his face... And then follow it up with "Bang A Boomerang"!
"Eagle" (1977) It is the longest song of ABBA, almost six minutes It is the opening song of their fifth album, entitled "ABBA The Album" (1977), which coincides with the release and premiere of their film "ABBA The Movie" (1977), which records ABBA's memorable tour of Australia and throughout the ABBAmania "Eagle" was released as a single in a few countries, It's a shame it didn't get a chance to be the third single from "The Album" in the UK (following "The Name of the Game" and "Take a Chance with Me" which you'll hear already) "Eagle" Many associate it with progressive rock, and say that its sound is the closest thing to the style of Pink Floyd or other similar groups. others relate it as a tribute to the Eagles group others relate the lyrics to 'Juan Salvador Gaviota' which is absolutely clear that it is a song that you never get tired of listening to, its almost 6 minutes are absolutely rich, and the joint voices of Agnetha and Frida, armored together with the magic of the 'Third Voice', literally fly like eagles , just as the instrumental ending leaves us with that feeling of flying in the sky for many it is the best ABBA song in my opinion it is 9 points, absolutely brilliant... but there is more, and in this same album "Eagle" ABBA performed it in a television presentation in Germany 1978 (in a reduced version, together with another song from this album "Thank you for the music") and in the opening of their TV special in Japan 1978 and these, that is a special scene filming in Stockholm for the movie "ABBA The Movie" (with Agnetha already pregnant, although it is hardly noticeable) and it is performed in their concerts of the 1979 Tour in North America and Europe ABBA made an official video for "Eagle", reduced to just over 3 minutes, without one of the choruses and the final instrumental part, for better dissemination in the medía
"Hole in your soul", "Elaine", "Man in the middle"... There are two ways to love ABBA - randomly by requests or album by album song by song. I like both ways as I'm in love for 40 years already 💓
Well i just listened to the backing track of 'The Visitors" in utube. No matter the years it still sounds such a magnificent production even without the vocals.
All in all THANK YOU Chase. You make a lot of us feel happy while sharing your Abba journey with us.And if you ever try 'Summer Night City" then again watch out and keep in mind that this is the other Abba song that has an original Full length version. This one has got a magical intro that unfortunately got chopped too mainly for 'radio friendly' purposes. Btw ABBA had 3 great popular tracks that got edited for same reason. 'Eagle/Summer night city' and Gimme!Gimme!Gimme!.Last one was re-released as an official lyric video by ABBA in October 2022 that also combined the original footage.Fortunately this time it was full lenght and did some justice to the famous missing part we all love.
Great song. This wasn't an earlier song of theirs though. This was from their movie called "ABBA The Movie" in 1977. You should check it out. Very entertaining. It follows their tour of Australia where there was absolute hysteria by fans. They were treated like the Beatles and had huge massive crowds. ABBA mania and of course great music. Try their song "If It wasn't for the nights" it's a great dancing disco type song and "Summer Night City " thanks and take care
Another fantastic opening track from ABBA the Album which was released as a single in some countries but I agree with the comment that the album full length version is the best. Some great keyboard wizardry from Benny on this and as ever the girl’s voices were soaring high like the Eagle.
You really need to listen to the studio version wich is way better. This is the single version and a great guitar solo was cut out to get Radio play ..in the 70s songs need to be short, but ABBA had there own rules 😊
The strange colours in the video, eg on their faces, is not because this video is older (it's somewhere in the middle of their catalogue). I think they experimented with special effects here and tried to make it look a bit psychedelic.
Yes unfortunately our friend Chase missed the originally recorded version since he didn't know.Btw i do prefer "The Movie" version, not concerning (the duration that featured the song) but the visual part.So adventurous,Pure heaven
@@discogareth Because a lot of people told him that there is a long and better album version in the comments of his previous reactions. And he read this comments because he liked them.
Don't feel pressured into playing a particular song by Abba just because people keep asking you to (I've been guilty of that). Just play whatever catches your eye when you feel like it. Don't get bored of them.👍
Great reaction video! When you get a chance, please please please🙏 listen to the instrumental as the song got cut off. It's amazing, the guitar playing is - as you would say - "crazy"! 🤩👍
Iam kinda sad you missed the original full length version to this majestic gem that is such a huge fave of many in the Abba community. So in case you wanna give it another chance Here's the correct choice all coated with this fantABBAulous video. th-cam.com/video/QuC6yAiaXBw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=otvH-vKsAJlNH002
@@jamesleogue3938Hey James thanx but actually it's not the official video but a fan made one of the official audio recording (of over 5 min) that has original Abba footage of the song from '77/'78.Wonderful isn't it?
Most part of this clip includes 'ABBA The movie" filmed version.I had missed the chance to watch this in 1978 i was too young. But first time watched in the summer of 1981 during my teens holidays in a summer open air cinema.I got so stunned that when i turned back home i was bewildrered at the time and kept on thinking of Frida's and Agnetha's 'suntanned' ' breathtaking sight 'dressed in whilte' while singing "...and i dream i'm an Eagle/And i dream i can spread my wings...flying high, high i'm a bird in the sky"..
please you need to react to "I still have faith in you", which is part of the 2021 album Abba Voyage after 40 years the members got together to record an album of new songs, which is actually a great album like everything Abba has done and he does. Pleeeeeeeeaaaaasseeeee❤
When you see for example it's saying 14 years ago that is not meaning the video was made 14 years ago it means that this particular video was uploaded to TH-cam 14 years ago.
Chase, this ABBA song reminded me of the song 'Fly Like An Eagle' by The Steve Miller Band who also had other hits including 'The Joker' plus 'Abracadabra'.
There is only one fan video with a long album version 5:11 and the great middle part of the synthesizer guitar musical; There are fans who say it's prog rock. OK. not really important; For me THE VISITORS (unfortunately no video; worthy opener in the current Voyage concerts in London) is one of the most interesting gems. Eagle wasn't a worldwide single either, but it was number 1 in Belgium with the most loyal ABBA fans in terms of the charts.
Good song bur not my favorite. Time to dive into some more Frida leads, I wonder, Our last summer, White Sombrero, I let the Music Speak, Casandra, One Man One Woman, Like an Angel Passing through my room, Visitors. The last two are entirely different than anything you've heard.
I love this song, it is magical
Take A Chance On Me! Gotta be next.

"Eagle" (1977)
It is the longest song of ABBA, almost six minutes
It is the opening song of their fifth album, entitled "ABBA The Album" (1977),
which coincides with the release and premiere of their film "ABBA The Movie" (1977),
which records ABBA's memorable tour of Australia and throughout the ABBAmania
"Eagle" was released as a single in a few countries,
It's a shame it didn't get a chance to be the third single from "The Album" in the UK
(following "The Name of the Game" and "Take a Chance with Me" which you'll hear already)
"Eagle"
Many associate it with progressive rock,
and say that its sound is the closest thing to the style of Pink Floyd or other similar groups.
others relate it as a tribute to the Eagles group
others relate the lyrics to 'Juan Salvador Gaviota'
which is absolutely clear that it is a song that you never get tired of listening to,
its almost 6 minutes are absolutely rich,
and the joint voices of Agnetha and Frida, armored together with the magic of the 'Third Voice',
literally fly like eagles , just as the instrumental ending leaves us with that feeling of flying in the sky
for many it is the best ABBA song
in my opinion it is 9 points, absolutely brilliant... but there is more, and in this same album
"Eagle"
ABBA performed it in a television presentation in Germany 1978
(in a reduced version, together with another song from this album "Thank you for the music")
and in the opening of their TV special in Japan 1978
and these, that is a special scene filming in Stockholm for the movie "ABBA The Movie"
(with Agnetha already pregnant, although it is hardly noticeable)
and it is performed in their concerts of the 1979 Tour in North America and Europe
ABBA made an official video for "Eagle", reduced to just over 3 minutes,
without one of the choruses and the final instrumental part, for better dissemination in the medía
There is a longer version though, with the guitar "solo" expanded.
Same with "Gimme gimme", and the drum and bass interlude.
Thanks for taking us to your ABBA-journey, just love it ❤

The song here was shortened for the music video; the full length album version is the best has cool electric guitar riff instrumentals at end
Good song, Chase!... Good react too👌!

Please react to " hole in yr soul" by abba.. u will be amazed. Even better than " as good as new"
There is another video they did for this song that I believe is longer with better video graphics.
Yep from ABBA The Movie.
Great channel keep it up! Eagle is one of my favorites, the album version is almost 6 minutes. Check out The Visitors and Knowing Me, Knowing You.

He already has.
Our last summer is a good choice
You have to listen album 5 min. version, cause the end instrumental part is cutoff.
Great reaction! I read somewhere that Benny and Bjorn wrote this song as a tribute to "the eagles" band who they respected.

Pity you didn't select the longer cut of the song, the outro is awesome!
Love it. Play song called tiger please.
It was also a kind of tribute to the US Rock band, The Eagles. This was 1977.
While this is the "official" video for the song, I do perform the video footage of the song in ABBA The Movie better.
Me too.
