Lead guitarist on this song is Janne Schaffer, who also was a session guitarist for Bob Marley and Johnny Nash. I believe Lasse Wellander also played electric guitar on this Bjorn Ulvaeus played acoustic guitar. "Eagle" is the lead song on ABBA's 5th album, 'The Album'. All nine tracks are phenomenal, the last 3 being part of a 'mini-musical. Aside from 'Eagle', my favourite tracks are "Move On", "The Name Of The Game", "Hole In Your Soul", and the banger "Take A Chance On Me", which peaked at #3 on the U.S. Billboard top 100 and is actually ABBA's biggest selling single (even more than #1 hit "Dancing Queen").

In the early 70s before Bob Marley was famous he visited Sweden and stayed at Janne's place he had a bed in the basement. Not all can brag about that 🙂 but Janne can

This has always been one of my favourite Abba songs. Very majestic and soars just like an Eagle. The production and arrangement are superb and those vocals and harmonies as exquisite as always. When those two voices sing together it ignites something in my brain. No 2 other voices have this incredible affect. Pure joy 💖

Eagle is definitely one of my favorite songs, it's so underrated. It's has this kind of psychedelic vibe and makes me feel high...who needs drugs when we have ABBA? And oh my god the guitar solo at the end is literally heaven. Your reactions are the best, but please try to not get this goofy again because it's like hard to watch... Glad to see other people my age enjoying ABBA!

    • @jeffreyweitzman6463
      @jeffreyweitzman6463 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Everyone obviously entitled to their opinion - but I say just let them be goofy, it was only in parts and it is endearing shows their personalities and fun side to both of them. Better than being all dull boring personalities and putting on a forced persona which isn't them. And with that terms of the songs themselves, they always treat them when talking about them dead serious and with deserved respect Abba should always get.

"Eagle" is ABBA's longest song, almost six minutes
It is the opening song of his fifth album, entitled "ABBA The Album" (1977), which coincides with the edition and premiere of his film ABBA The Movie "(1977), which records ABBA's memorable tour in Australia and the entire ABBAmania
"Eagle" was released as a single in a few countries, it's a pity that wasn't the chance to be the third single of "The Album" in UK
(follow "The name of the Game" & "Take a chance on me")
I go back to "ABBA The Album"
After the spectacular worldwide success with "Dancing Queen" and their album "Arrival" this more versatile album and more experimental music followed, with more elaborate and deep lyrics, all the songs are of different genres, different from each other, fantastic, for me it is his best album
    includes the great hit
    "Take a chance on me",
    the bizarre rock
    "Hole in your soul",
    the mystical
    "Move on",
the mini musical with the classic
    "Thank you for the music",
    each song is a must!
    I suggest you listen to
    "The name of the Game"
the second track in "The Album"
and the first single from these
    it's a fantástic song too
    #1 in UK four weeks
    Kind regards from
    Buenos Aires, Argentina
    South América

It's a great opener to The album, but their best song is a bit further down the playlist called Move on. Bjorn does a spoken word in the first verse. And the chorus... Just epic! A tropical island vibe. It's just awesome 👌

One of my favourite songs growing up. It is a wonderful example of how ABBA could take any genre and redefine it. This is the pinnacle of 70s folk rock - one of the dominant genres of the 60s and 70s (think Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon… and ABBA’s own origins) - with amazing sound production, brought to the world of commercial pop radio. It is a sensation, and very influential for the later folk rock and ‘prog’ rock sounds of the 80s and 90s. Compare this song with ABBA’s first single of this (or any) genre, ‘People Need Love’, and you quickly realise just how much this band had already accomplished in seven short years (with five more years, and three more great albums to go) . This album was right on the cusp of the disco era. Their next album was their iconic disco album, ‘Voulez-vous’.

Love that you are listening to this. The is a song you just have to sit back, close your eyes to and listen (not possible doing a reaction!) …and the best part….every single sound is made by a human!!! That makes is magical! Music today is electronic and often AI assisted….but ABBA did it all themselves….so in a way…they taught computers how to make modern day music! ABBA is a trip back in time to when humans did it all!

I bought this album when it first came out. I remember reading a review of it somewhere, that described it as being recorded with a precision that was "frighteningly mathematical". I always thought that was a good description of most of ABBA's music. It was engineered with the perfection of a fine Swiss watch!

  • @edned5504
    @edned5504 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

First things first. I liked the new seating arrangement. I heard this song way way back many centuries ago, in early 1978 when I was 14. I'd read The Hobbit a few years previously, and I always imagined the section of the book where Bilbo and the dwarves are rescued by the eagles. The imagery is so nice.
"They came flying from far away
    Now I'm under their spell
I love hearing the stories that they tell
They've seen places beyond my land
    And they've found new horizons
They speak strangely but I understand."
    Sigh. So so lovely.
At 9'45" on your video there is an instrumental section. This section of the song is a joy to listen to with headphones. You can hear the 'eagle' flying from left, overhead to right and back again. It has to be a stereo recording of course (in your video the music is mainly mono owing to the way you've made it). It is, as you say in the USA or Canada, 'awesome'.
Good fun as always people. Incidentally, TCC sounds a bit like Marge Simpson when he tries the Marrisa voice.

I would like you to react to a song by Diana Navarro the song is called "El perdón" she is a Spanish singer. Very versatile she sings different styles of music. With a very particular voice full of melismas.Saludos

Being 73, I can't resist some stupid humor for you to ignore. Are you guys brother and sister?, and what will you do after high-school?

Not brother and sister. Gay guy and his beard/hag. Love them. So delightful despite some odd reaction videos.

You are not worthy to react to ABBA.
