Can you tell me more? I'm considering the 2020 legacy XT limited. I have a 2014 Mazda 6. I like the entertainment system in the legacy. Is it sporty? Does it make you want to keep driving it? How does it handle in corners?
I love the Legacy's more premium look and feel. Also, the standard all wheel drive is a must where I live. I will take the Legacy over the Accord any day.
Let me give you my perspective as I recently looked at both of these vehicles with the following priorities. Comfort, fuel economy, quietness, work/phone compatibility. I drive a lot for work so my priorities. Comfort top of list. Test drove both and subaru blew me away. That Interior and seat comfort no comparison. Put an order in for the 2020 subaru touring xt with upgraded turbo engine. Cant wait
@@jkdckismlo my 2020 Legacy Limited now has 10,000 miles. The Accord was a nice car for sure, but for commuting, my Legacy kicks ass. Quiet, comfortable, and I'm averaging 31.1 mpg(in reasonably heavy traffic). I have the smaller motor, but did drive the XT. It definitely punches, but for every day use, the base motor is just fine. And I read a lot about people struggling with the touchscreen - it literally took me a day to figure it out. Super user friendly.
@@jkdckismlo it does have it. I can count on one hand how many times it's actually kicked in. It seems to only kick in if all heating/ac systems are off and you've been sitting for a while. It's never shut off in heavy traffic, which I find annoying. My 2019 Equinox constantly shuts off. The Subaru is not as frequent. It can be abrupt in operation, but it would not stop me from purchasing this car again. I hate start/stop systems, but at least you can turn it off. (It resets every time you shut the car off, though.)
I just bought my Legacy Limited GT 2.4 turbo here in Canada, it’s the equivalent to the XT. Love this car comfortable, quiet, fit and finish is excellent and the motor is great. Couldn’t agree more with you.
Diehard Subaru fan here. Own the 2020 Legacy. Super sweet comfortable car. The auto stop start stinks and it is disabled through the infotainment cluster. There is no hard button. HOWEVER, it can be disabled by running the rear defroster which is a hard button. Interesting qwirk, but Subaru has always been a little qwirky....it's what makes a Subaru a Subaru.....oh yeah and that awesome AWD!
Personally i prefer Subaru, because there’s styling very nice , good material and good acceleration . On the other hand i really love Subaru which preferred massive touch screen
A few notes on both models, the Legacy has the start/system that remains active until it is shut off, It can be shut off but reverts back to stop/stop after car is shut off. The Accord is a good choice but the speakers in the car are second rate in order to cut costs and the hood is so light it flutters when traveling at moderate to high speeds.
Why aren't all of you automotive journalists NOT talking about the fact that NOW, The turbo versions(XT) of the Legacy/Outback use Regular Gasoline, as in 87 octane. More power than before and Less at the pump? That's something I would assume would be talked about more so, when making these videos.
Just traded in my ‘18 Legacy sport for a ‘21 Legacy Limited XT & it’s solid! Best bang for buck in my opinion. That symmetrical AWD & turbo engine gets the job done! SubiLife is where it’s at! 👊🏼
Bought my Legacy limited GT turbo (Canada GT=XT) a month ago and absolutely love the car. Excellent fit and finish, great ride, all wheel drive the 2.4 turbo is really healthy and uses regular fuel. The accord is a great car but for me the Subaru is hands-down the winner here.
For someone like me, living on a mountain in snowy Connecticut, the Honda is not even an option. I used to own an older Honda, and every snow storm if I was out I walked home - the car with snow tires on all wheels could not get me home. When the second transmission went on the Honda, I replaced it in 2013 with the Legacy. Now we don't get stuck anymore. I liked the Honda for the most part, but the Subaru is just more practical. If I need to replace it, will probably get another (the current Subaru has 100,000 and has needed zero repairs so far). I only wonder how long the CVT will last in the snow as there are reports on TH-cam it does not do as well as the old 5 speed I have.
I have a 2020 Legacy Limited and my wife has a 2020 Accord EX-L. The Honda is a little quicker and handles better. The Subaru rides better and has a better interior. I hate stop/start on the Subaru but I like both cars. I give the edge to the Honda because I feel like part of the car due to the great handling. However we haven’t had a snow storm yet in Cincinnati this season.
Props to Honda for keeping a manual transmission option but the AWD is the deal breaker here if you live anywhere it snows and you don't pay a mpg penalty.
I believe that Subaru wins this hands down. I have said it for a few years now, that Honda is over rated. Subaru on the other hand, is a sleeper. I'm going to be needing a new sedan here very soon. And so far, Subaru is in the lead. One item that is not mentioned in this comparison, is the ease of wintering and exiting of the vehicle. I have a very serious arthritis condition in both knees. The Subaru door, open very wide for entering and exiting. I need the power seat. It must be,able to raise high. It helps to prevent me from bending my knees as much as possible.
I test drove both the other day and was amazed at how much smoother the Legacy drove. Both were excellent and I like the Accord's styling on the outside more but I give the edge to Subaru.
What about ground clearance on both vehicles ? I think Suby is around 8.3 inches? No body says anything about ground clearance on a Accord ? Im thinking a lot closer to the ground , And does Honda accord even offer all wheel drive on a accord ?? Lets compare all wheel drive ? to all wheel drive ?
Ken W I’m sure it isn’t that much. I don’t have the specs in front of me but I’m betting it’s around 6.5”. Unlike the Outback, Forester and Crosstrek the Legacy and Impreza aren’t marketed as off-road worthy and have pretty standard clearance.
@@tpolerex7282 WRX is offroad worthy....its built for dirt and mud...and what do you mean by offroading? Many ppl seem to think offroading = climbing rocks but 90% of the ppl dont do that. Its really going into back country where there are just gravel road, dirt, mud, etc....
I think you must not drive your cars! You just get in the interior and play with the steering wheel and all the shiny bits! If you are going to compare two different cars then drive them for awhile.....in the city and on the highways....are the seats comfortable or do they just look pretty...how does the car handle...does it ride smoothly over uneven road surfaces....is there wind noise....does it give you a good feeling while driving it? Just some of what I would like to see and especially hear about while comparing two vehicles!
I think Audi A3 would cost the same or less than the Top models of Subaru XT or Accord Turbo 2L, A3 much better car and NO CVT. If you are looking to buy any of these two cars, maybe you should test drive a A3.
While Audi does not utilize CVT, they are much less reliable than Subaru. I personally never owned an Audi but I work with a lot of people that do and they always say they spend more time in the shop then they do driving them.
Audi is a luxury brand and will cost you much more to maintain. Meanwhile the A3 will never never have all the features you’ll find in those non luxury but top in trims. Moreover both Subaru and Honda are more reliable than Audi. My pick is the Subaru with a name brand Audio system, 18.5 gallons fuel tank vs Accord with 14.6, AWD, adaptive headlights, Napper leather and near 12 inch infotainment plus a much better ride than the Accord and Audi. You are just looking at an Audi logo but if you can get over that you’ll understand and see that both Legacy and Accord are better.
Honda needs to redesign the front end. That thing is butt ugly. I especially hate the wide chrome strip. They looked awful when Acura had them and don't look any better on the Accord. A few years ago, the Accord was a good looking car but not anymore.
I just got the new Legacy with the turbo engine. It flat-out kicks ass in every respect. A great car!

How is the oil consumption on it? Do you have to keep topping it up monthly or weekly?

Isn't the Accord's upgraded engine a 2.0L turbo, not a 2.5L? Hashtag: fact check?
@J Packard
What's that have to do with my original post regarding the incorrectly stated 2.5L turbo engine vs the correct 2L turbo motor?
Correct the accord has the same 2.0l as the type r but just detuned and some parts changed.
Correct the narrator made a mistake, the largest engine in the Accord is a 2.0.

The Accord has a 2.0T derived from the Civiv Type R line. Not 2.5

The Honda is not a 2.5 liter like this video says. It’s either the 1.5T or the 2.0T.
