In simunition training on the first try, I failed to get out of the way. The paint ball hit the base of my bicep resulting in a huge red and black bruise. I learned quickly how to get out of the way.

This is why an experienced person never pulls a gun at arms length while ' danger close". Pull the gun and keep it tucked at your side pointing at the target and it will be unwise for the opponent to try and disarm you.

I know of another one consisting of grabbing the wrist instead and pulling, then rotating the weapon to point to the assailant before pulling them out of their hand and stepping back. The round if it fires, will hit the assailant. I think that disarm and your disarm are pretty similar. There are two main points as you showed but you only explained one. The first is to get out of the way as soon as possible. The second is to pull the assailant off balance in order to give you time to complete the disarm without them fighting you. I did notice that on your rotation of the weapon you were putting your assailant off balance each time. Thanks for the video.

Excellent !! Great teaching Jason 👍 this flat works…
My son did this to try to teach me and he was crazy fast. I stood zero chance of getting off a shot and if I did, like you said, it would be an air ball and I’d not get off another. I always wondered where he learned this

How do you disarm a bad guy if the weapon is not extended... say held adjacent to the hip, or slightly forward of the hip? That's where I would hold the weapon.

Anyone with any firearms experience is not going to close distance with you...they will commence to let the speed of the round devastate your human tissue...if you are disarmed, seek any cover and escape

I use to teach this in a women’s self defense class. Very effective. I used the first part as a psychology class to demonstrate action, reaction cycle in the brain. Using a water pistol that had to be cocked to fire. Even after several dimensions no body was able to beat the brain’s observation delay. Everyone thought they could next time!

Only works if they are within arms reach. Very rare! Most likely they will be feet away. Then it is a highly risky move. You may get the gun. You might not. If you don't you're dead.

Exactly how we train in Krav Maga. It does work but you must practice and be familiar with how to use the firearm once you’ve taken possession. Remember to keep your trigger finger out of the trigger guard when practicing. Great video once again.👍

I'm not an expert in any sense of the word but, criminals most likely watch youtube also. So if they happen to watch this video, it tells them not to put a gun right into your chest. Then they stand back about 5 feet from you with the loaded gun pointed at you, what do you do then?

If that gun is a revolver and is pre-cocked and you grab it like that...ouch. If not pre-cocked, grabbing the cylinder will stop it from firing. Good technique for a semi auto pistol.

When the cylinder is grabbed the person with the gun just squeezes trigger and rotates the handle of the gun the direction needed of it a smith vs a colt once in lined it will fire thst round exspecially on a small revolver even if an old lady it works the person gripping the gun not much meat of the Hand is actually on the cylinder and the person holding the handle has all the leverage

One slight tweak would make this better--always clear the gun to the outside. The way you are doing it now, the direction of fire goes across your body. It's a bit faster to get out of the line when you clear it to the outside.

Just a question does that scenario happen a lot? The largest city I have ever lived in was Shreveport in Louisiana not huge but not a small town. And that never happened to me and I was out day & night in some of the worst areas of the city as a young man. I have CC most of my 66 years and don't think anyone would ever get that close don't know if it's the way you carry yourself when your locked and loaded or just luck? I have also been to a lot of places in the USA just not long-term.

It occurs to me that mind set is vital. Decide right now what you will do if someone comes at you with a gun. And when that time comes, your reaction will be automatic, precise , and successful. Do not hesitate to conclude that the person aiming a gun at you cannot be reasoned with. Act now, mull it over later because seconds count. Your life depends on reaction time. Give no quarter. Or get shot; whichever works for you.

It seems SO WRONG to grab a live guns barrel and fire I always just assumed it's blowback from the force of the bullet and cut your hand up, hmmm, interesting!...and sketchy, haha

    • @johnwood1010
      @johnwood1010 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Tugsman revolvers are not as common today but if you are holding a revolver at the junction of the front of the cylinder and barrel and it goes off your going to be badly burned/ cut with the blowback. However most revolvers you would encounter in a “ hold up “ will fire in double action. IF you hold them cylinder tightly , and it doesn’t take much strength the cylinder will not move and the gun will not fire. Still better to take a hand injury and take the gun away from aggressor I think.

I always state that when the video of you is found after the disarm.... You rolling the barrel upwards, not outwards shown you never pointed the gun at any body else. They can't go after you for negligence or putting them in danger.....
