  • All of my previous videos, thoughts and treatments were misguided. That's why my skin never stayed healed. Once I stopped worrying about 'rosacea' and started focusing on my SKIN MOISTURE BARRIER, my skin finally healed- FOR GOOD! This is my final final FINAL skin video.

You have helped me so much. Thank you!
Two weeks ago I watched your last video. (I was also diagnosed with rosacea.) I bought the products you showed in that video. I have been using the cream multiple times a day and man it has helped so much. My skin looks so much better. Skin moisture barrier for sure.
I really appreciate you doing these videos.

Thank you so much for this post Victoria. I think I went down the exact same path of topical treatments you did and destroyed my own skin. I broke my moisturising routine over the covid lock downs...and then aggressively treated the outbreak thinking it was adult acne, and then rosacea but nothing worked. It became so irritated and inflamed that I didn't even want to leave the house. I will give your advice a go. Thank you and all the best ❤️

I watched your very first video this morning on the demodex theory, so just ignore my comment lol. What a journey this has been! Often times we destroy our skin trying to fix it. Cerave is the best, that’s why it’s so heavily recommended. Surprising no derms asked about your skin care routine or what stuff you’re using, I agree the doctors in the US are not about prevention. I’m so glad your skin is back to normal, I can’t imagine the relief you must feel now. Thanks for sharing your story, I’m sure there are so many people out there that have done the same. Thank you, all the best!

I think this really might be the same problem I have. Literally related to everything you said I hope i don’t have rosecea and it’s just my skin barrier. I stopped using al face wash and moisturizer because I thought that it was all making it worse so I started only wash my face with just cold water and i wash my face atleast like 4-5 times a day. Thank you for this video!!

I definitely have rosacea. My skin barrier was damaged and all ‘gentle, sensitive, hypoallergenic’ moisturizers made it SO much worse. I kept trying to repair it and my face reacted horribly to the most gentle products, even water would burn my skin. Azeleic acid helped, sort of but barely when it was at it’s worst. After 1,5 years of a damaged skin barrier- that only ‘improved’ when I put no products on my face and didn’t wash it, it’s only the ‘rosacea products’ that helped. Or well, in particular metronidazole and hypochlorous acid. Slowly my skin barrier is healing, because the underlying cause is being dealt with.

Hi, just saw yr video. I totally agree about making a buck on a person’s condition. Several years ago, I also reduced my skin barrier and I didn’t know what to do. A facial aesthetic noticed how overly dry the skin was and began correcting the ph of my face.It took time but it’s much better than before.
Stress can be a culprit and probably for some, what we eat.
Thank you for an encouraging video for others.

Hi! I just found your channel and I think I have contracted rosacea as a result of severely damaging my skin barrier from chemical exfoliants. I'm pretty much in the same position as you, but the common rosacea triggers "exercise, alcohol, hot showers, etc" do cause me to flare up. I went to a dermatologist and they were super unhelpful... told me everything i already know, recommended products I already have, and prescribed me topical medication that seemed to do nothing. I use the cerave moisturizer and a hyaluronic acid multiple times a day, but my face always seems to randomly turn into a tomato in the worst situations and its really been hurting my confidence. I honestly don't even want to leave my house anymore because my friends teased me saying it looked like I was wearing blush (I'm a guy) and and the dermatologist I went to even chuckled when I was telling her about how my friends made fun of me. This condition is really making me realize just how cruel this world is and I feel like all hope is lost. Any suggestions regarding what you think I can do to help lessen my symptoms would be greatly appreciated.

Wow I am so happy you shared this. I was being told since 2016 that I had rosacea but it doesn't seem right. Eventually after turning down everything the derms wanted me to take, I saw a woman for a facial. I explained how it's like red and painful. She said I think you damaged you skin moisture barrier. She asked if I exfoliated too much. I said no I have been using shiseido. Then I realized it has an exfoliation in it! I used it once to twice a day. I changed to a Emenence oil cleanser and it slowly regained moisture and I finally started wearing makeup without my skin peeling. I still have a red spot on the tip of my nose on occasion which usually shows during allergy season. Also a quarter size spot on my forehead seems to break out with what looks like pimples but nothing in the bump. It comes and goes I believe with hormone fluctuations. Either way I am so happy your skin is happy. I will focus more on moisturizing as I may not be doing enough. Thank you again!!!

Thank you so much for posting this! I went to a derm in March of this year (2021) because my skin had become more overall pink in the last year. I have also being dealing with dryness and irritation for many years prior. I thought my moisture barrier was probably weak and mentioned that to the derm (in hopes that she would suggest maybe a better moisturizer). She barely listened to that and quickly diagnosed me with rosacea (subtype 1) and first wanted to prescribe me doxy to which I said I didn’t want to take that cause of my stomach issues so she then quickly prescribed me Rhofade (a vasoconstrictive cream - she didn’t mention it was that at all when she prescribed it). She told me if I didn’t start treating my rosacea now it would get worse so I kind of felt like I was feared into thinking the cream was okay for me to use. I looked it up a bit online and couldn’t find anything bad so I thought it was safe to use. I used the cream for 4 days and then developed severe rebound redness that has had effects on me for the past 4 months. Only found out what I was experiencing by looking at horrific reviews. I went to soooo many derms to fix my reaction (which has lasted for months) and all of them kept throwing shit at me like steroids and other topicals. All of which I have avoided as I’ve seen those other topicals and of course steroids can cause more irritation. I totally agree with you that these derms don’t care to get to the root of the problem. They just want to throw dangerous drugs at people. The cream I used - Rhofade - caused me to flush so badly (way more than I ever naturally had and such a painful deep colored flush) and painfully and even though I am less prone to those flushes now I am still struggling with heat intolerance. If a room has no AC on my face heats up so quick and so bad 😖 I also can no longer wear a face mask as it has become a trigger in that it makes my skin raw and red so I haven’t gone out much in the past 4 months 😕 Finally found a good derm who is more holistic and wants to help me rebuild my moisture barrier through simple skincare. But I hate that I went through all this. Like you I wish the first derm had focused on how bad my skin’s moisture barrier was and helped me fix it before she prescribed a topical that basically destroyed what little of moisture barrier I had. Again thank you so much for your video 😁

@@cccccmmm9562 Hi🤗 Thanks for asking! It’s still not back completely to what it was before I used Rhofade. I’m still dealing with heat intolerance (like even a 70 degree day can knock me down with heat). Still having unprovoked flushing (which when it happens makes my face, ears and scalp feel like boiling water has been poured over them and everything feels hot around me) although less frequently. Numbess still happens from time to time still and I definitely am more permanently pink then before Rhofade. Ans I still have a bunch of broken capillaries from the rebound redness Rhofade caused - and where they are the most noticeable is actually where i feel the most burning pain on my face when I flush). I hope in another year I feel even better. I’m trying to control my stress more, eat better and drink more water😅 I will always wonder how I would be now if i had never used that crap😖 Again thanks for asking! How are you doing?

Not critiquing, I got “rosacea” myself. And I’m very hopeful to try your last options. First maybe again azelaic acid, metronidazole and ivermectin and then your moisturizing routine.

I also think i don't have rosacae and that it might just be my skin barrier being damaged because it happened in the winter and looking back I took really hot baths during that time and never protected my skin and we just had one of the coldest winters and it resulted in me going to see my GP because my skin was red, inflamed and got these bumps and was given Soolantra. He said that he was not 100% sure about it being rosacae and said that if I am happy with my skin,I can stop Soolantra and see what happens. In just 2 weeks my skin has improved while using Soolantra. So I will stop it and see how it goes.
    Wish me luck.

I think the skin moisture barrier is indeed key, I thought I had severe rosacea all of a sudden at age ~25 about 5 years ago in 2016 when a variety of things didn't help. A very good brand moisturizer daily is what gradually got my rosacea all but eliminated. I use PH 5.5 daily and deep face wash, and their PH 5.5 moisturizer cream and I haven't had to use that Prosacea medicated gel in about a year for good measure. A total lack of skin care routine is what got me, but I was a young bachelor guy who thought I was invincible, who could blame me lol. Glad to see you're doing better, I may look into those green drops you showed in the beginning. I gave away over time to family other new lotions and creams I never needed since I found what worked for me. I subscribed to you years ago in my rosacea "dark days" , and, hunkered down in Texas winter storm apocalypse hell, I'm glad to see you're doing better these days too. People were trying to tell me to save up thousands of dollars for laser treatments in very far away cities and I was like ummm....surely there's gotta be another way?

16 months I’m dealing with this! Just was given soolantro and its burning as i speak! I’m pissed! I was using vitc and it was making me red i was told it was get balanced. It didn’t. Quarantine happened and i was using HA and exfoliating, while black smoke blowed into my nyc apt and i did t know this so i started treating my face for irritation thinking it was age. So i was exfoliating 3x a day and using stuff for acne that i didn’t have, and stop using moisturizer. I have NO heat in my so the temp change is hogwash! One day it was burning so bad that i washed my face over 10x, it was purple red that night and i work up with my eyes swollen shut. I saw a derm emergency and was told not to use anything for 2 weeks, and then these cysts came! 16 months later I’m still here. The only time it was “better” was my using Azaleic acid. I’m a science head, and ive studied skin now for 16 months and it’s not roseca! Today is the 1sr dr I’ve seen in 16 months and she said roseca and i wanted to cry. My face it literally burning right now. NONE of this my entire life, no acne, not even period pimples! No redness ever! I’m Sicilian, my family has good skin. As an sports biomechanics injury expert i deal with drs regularly doing dumb shit, when they don’t know mobility. But this is just the same thing! Thank you for this video! I have tried an exhaustive amount of products in the past 16 months, Sarah V face wash that you mentioned is what I’ve used the majority of the time and I literally just stopped using it because hyaluronic acid I can’t handle at all anymore since it was a part of me burning my face and it actually sucks the water out of your face. And niacinamide as well I can’t use it if anything has it I can’t use it. And I was also using the 30 p.m. moisturizer and I’ve stopped that as well however my face has not gotten better with these changes and when I was using the NATURIUM skin line from Susan Yara It helped the most. I told the doctor that it was not rosacea and then I was not taking anything orally. And she gave me these prescriptions for soolantra and Hydro Corrisone. I’m also a nutrition specialist I’ve done nothing but health in a biology realm since I’m 11 years old about eating is laughable to me. Thank you for this video. I’m going to wash this off now

I think skin moisture barrier is the core issue in most cases. In my case i damaged my skin due to all the welding i was doing i didnt guard myself and my helmet let the dangerous light thru but just belove my eyes. Some parts by my ear it heald in time. But other parts started the become worse. But With right moisture and food and right vitamins i think it will heal with time.

You should put the oil on after the moisturiser as oil is most occlusive, the moisturiser won’t absorb if put on top of oil. Go with the wash, whilst skin is wet fresh out of shower put the HA on, then moisturiser and spf if going outside. Use the oil after moisturiser at night to occlude 👍

Damn it's an old video so I wish you will see this...
I'm confused cause I feel like a lot of what you are saying is relatable for my case.. but actually that I did not know anything about rosacea and actually no one told me this is what I have until recently..
I had great skin, and did not take care of it cause it was perfect.. and after a specific stress I started to have horrible bumps on my face which I thought was acne. So I treated it like acne, and like you said, it is not helping.. and even before, I used to have dryness in my eyelids, but I didn't connect between the two..
So actually a cosmetician I went to told me it's a skin barrier problem, but anything she did, well it did not help me, and I gave her like half a year but did not see any change..
And then I tryed a different cosmetician which told me she thinks its resecea and I should see a doctor.
SO I went to a doctor, and he actually didnot say he knows exactly what I have, but anyway, prescripted me Doxycyclin, and it was magic for the horrible bumps!!
But the redness is still there even though I'm trying to mosterise..
So I'm not sure, do I have rosacea, or is it the skin barrier, or is it both? I'm worried I'll treat it wrong 😢

this is what i used after my Rx ran out. it's not quite prescription strength, but it gets the job done. just make sure your skin is COMPLETELY DRY when you use azelaic acid, or else your skin will get itchy... and it *does* speed up the turnover of your skin cells (similar to retinol) so your skin may 'purge' and break out a bit in the beginning. But it's nowhere near as drying or irritating as all that other stuff...

Rosacea is just a catch-all term for people who have a red face.. there are multiple reasons why it starts.. eroding the moisture barrier is one of them. after a while some people are lucky to find a way to manage it… and it seems to “go away”. everyone’s “way” of tending their rosacea is different. I have rosacea but you’d never know as I have no redness unless I have a flare up, which happens once every couple of years. I too can eat spicy food etc… I keep it at bay with assiduous skin care… just like you.

"Had to" meaning fired if not and the masks we got were pointless since we are treating his for months and none of got sick until we put the mask on and those of us who had mold toxicity, everything got worse because of it - trapped, multiplied, and it decreases oxygen, increases cortisol, decreases immune function, increased bacteria. I'm sorry you felt like you had to wear something that was not healthy for you or others. :( I love your dimples by the way.So cute. Make sure you take care! I have had a lot of dancer patients (I taught zumba, I need everything to be on the beat, very rhythmic so I couldn't get into ballet or that kind of dance but it's soooo pretty to watch! I'm a musician who turned it down to serve in healthcare), have eating disorders and nutrient deficiencies :( Amazing how people comment and say "just do this" or "just do that." I had that when I died from mold toxicity and I got "are you praying enough?" "Did you try green tea?" I'm like, "COME OVER AND HELP ME CLEAN THIS TOXIC MOLD MAYBE? WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? :)" Glad you're better :) Smooth and lovely!

Have you checked the Avène products? It is a French company that has two lines for very sensitive skin (Tolerance Extreme and Tolerance Control). The Aveeno Calm and Restore line has hyaluronic acid in it. That may be drying you out because you skin barrier is damaged and HA binds with water. If there is no water in the air, then it will take it from your skin, making the problem bigger. I don't use anything with HA on my face, but my neck tolerates it.

@@lasupermanafunky haven’t tried avene yet. I know of it. Yeah hyaluronic acid is what actually started the burn on my face to begin with so I can’t use anything with HA in it at all. Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid was actually irritating my face while I was inside my apartment that was having black smoke come through the walls and my vents that I didn’t know about. So because my face was vulnerable and the actual number one reason you ruin your skin barrier is pollution above exfoliation. I was literally sitting in a toxic environment and my face was irritated from the toxic environment but I was treating it like my skin was having its own aging/skin issues and using HA and I ruined it basically not knowing until after the fact and was way late. Thank you for your reply. I just started squalene oil. The amount of research I’ve done, medical journals I’ve read, and investigating with different ingredients I’ve done in the past 16 months I swear I’m gonna be a freaking skin chemist by the end of this. And I hope I can laugh at that point. After making my comment above the soolanra actually burned my skin to the point of it bleeding and I flipped out on the doctor that gave it to me because she consistently insisted for the rest of the week that it was rosacea even after burning my face again, it’s never been rosacea and that’s what’s wrong with the medical industry anyway I could go on for days THANK YOU!

Wait so you blame the doctors because when they ask you have you been doing anything differently yet you said no and you admit later in the video you were taking three showers a day and not moisturizing and also trying all these silly medications over the counter.
They can only go by what they see, you blame the doctors you blame people who recommended acne treatment yet you take no responsibility that you did this yourself.
This sounded like a rage update, blame the doctors because you didn't tell the truth.
Remember like HOUSE says all patients lie!
But overall I'm happy for you that it cleared up but majority of the people do have skin issues and don't create their own.

    • @VictoriaVitriol
      @VictoriaVitriol  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

tell me why a doctor can't tell the difference between dry skin and rosacea... why is a doctor giving me DRYING acne medication when i need to moisturize? a doctor should have been able to say "well, you may not be doing anything different, but your skin is certainly drying up a lot... could be due to something in your water, or even just ages / hormones, etc... try moisturizing" instead of "here, acne meds, rosacea meds, steroids, drugs, big pharma!!!"
at this point a freaking tiktok influencer can spot a damaged moisture barrier better than a doctor can.
the very FIRST sign was little bumps of irritation. why did a doctor treat it like acne, and not irritation? why did a doctor dry it out more?
why was a doctor adding more irritants to red and dry skin, rather than soothing it?
no doctor EVER asked me "how often do you wash your face?" "what do you wash your face with?" "whats your skin scare routine?" and if they DID ask those questions first- we could have avoided a whole lot of anxiety and worsening of symptoms.
it was my fault up to a point- the doctors made it worse and were scratching their heads wondering why it was getting worse and never thought to try something else.

    • @RichFromQueensNY
      @RichFromQueensNY 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@VictoriaVitriol Because you have passed the dry skin part and you are very went to the damage and they both look exactly alike.
Oh believe me I agree there are many doctors who just would just give you the generic stuff and in 6 weeks come back or 8 weeks.
I'm just saying your response is blaming the doctors when you clearly stated when they ask you if you've been doing anything different or anything like that you didn't mention the three showers daily being in a cold area because of the chocolate place you worked at.
Then using Gym soap on your face I mean I think that should have been told to the doctor.
That's what they mean by changes they usually mean diet and stuff you been doing in your life sometimes it's stress sometimes it may be a death in the family or something that is traumatic or dramatic.
Like you said it didn't get like that overnight you don't break your skin barrier overnight it takes a long time.
I mean to do the damage that you did.
You may not understand acne, since you never had it you can have severely dry skin and still have acne.
Oily skin does not mean acne.
You can have clogged pores be oily underneath even being super dry on top.
I mean I don't know how often you were seeing these doctors.. I don't know if you were rotating doctors if you didn't get results and such many people do that.
Any medication be it benzoyl peroxide Retin-A and many others will dry out the skin.
Now many doctors are dumb and they give 10% benzoyl peroxide when 2.5% is just as effective except 10% is much more irritation.
I think when you tried soolantra and I believe azelaic acid.. and I'm pretty sure they would give you an oral antibiotic like doxycycline which is for rosacea it's none of that work especially the doxycycline which is only 40 mg.
That should have said this is not rosacea.. because between that Metro gel whatever they give.. you going to get some relief if you have true rosacea.
Let's thank God you don't have rosacea because that's a lifetime commitment and it can flare it up at anytime.
It sucks that you had to go through that but you played a big part in it realizing if you put this stuff on your face and it burned so bad that you could even use it that should have been a warning sign.
You called the doctor right away and say I can't even put this on it burns like hell.
Sometimes you have to be a nuisance patient because a lot of them will just say oh it takes time to adjust and I'm sure you heard some of that crap.
I don't mean anything against you I'm just saying that many people don't give the doctor everything the doctor needs to understand the situation.
Possibly to start this all out if you would have told them about three showers a day using basic cheap soap on your face and then also being in a very cold area then on top of that you're very athletic and you're not only taking dance classes you're also teaching so tons of sweat.
Maybe with that information a doctor just would have given you a gentle face wash and a gentle moisturizer and honestly in less than a few weeks you would have been much better.
Granted they prescribed it, the only thing I can say is that it did look like rosacea to them if you go to 5 dermatologist and the all say rosacea..that's a pretty good consensus.
Not saying you went to five I don't know if you went to more than that but not one didn't say it wasn't rosacea.
And I think what you have done coming back and telling people what it was I believe you may be helping many people there are a lot of people who might be doing the same thing you were doing.
You were just living life you didn't have any skin problems until all that manifested.
It always shows in life less is more.
Believe me I'm sure you've seen people who apply too much Retin-A and they learned their lesson pretty quickly in fact that's the number one thing people put on too much when they are told just a pea sized amount for your whole face.
And then in about 10 days or 2 weeks they look like they were in an inferno.
But retinoids are amazing, you just need a doctor and you just need the patient to comply.
People think of retinol the garbage you get from the store of course you're not going to have much reactions because guess what you're not getting any results.
This makes benzoyl peroxide and other medications seem so weak it's even used for rosacea because it builds up your collagen it literally thickens your collagen underneath so the redness is not as apparent.
And it does wonders for aging, most people start using it in their mid-to-late twenties to prevent aging or at least minimize as much as they can.
It's a 2-in-1 solution because if you have acne it's the best thing two birds with one stone.
You also have to realize there's another type of acne called fungal acne.
Anyways I'm just so happy that you actually fixed your skin and it's getting better and better and it looks pretty much flawless.

😂 Hello Vistoria. Greetings to all!! I want to confess here that I lead a life of sin… I have several dermatologists. They all think they are the only one. I let each one say what they want, I put on an obedient face and think: “Aha…”. One prescribes antibiotics for three months and ivermicide for 6 for ROSACEA. The other recommends neutral soaps and a calceblablabla inhibitor cream for my ATOPIC SKIN. The third says that it is staphylococcus and “has me” with a perinasal ointment. INFECTION. The fourth said it was contact dermatitis and prescribed ten days of topical corticosteroid for a small lesion under the nose. BURN. The fifth, he said it was irritating and gave me an epidemic test. ALLERGY. From time to time I return to each dr/a to reaffirm it. I've been like this since June. Not even a blood test. Not a scrape. Not even a biopsy… This discipline is like in the Middle Ages. High technology, biometrics, quantum and super electronics have not passed through this union. They look at you from two meters away (like the plague doctor) and that's it. It's not understood! One told me that it was perioral because I had pimples already going down my chin when those were marks of pimples that I had been picking at all spring and that had left me scars. Another of these told me that it was spreading across my upper eyelids due to the little red dot that I had left myself with a pinch of the tweezers while plucking my eyebrows. If you have time, desire and money, take the test. When five professionals of the same science say different things, I stop calling it science. And period. Do you know what I achieved with my little experiment? Knowing that it cannot be fixed from the outside, that it is better not to add fuel to the fire and, above all, it has allowed me to stop feeling guilty about what happens in the future with my rosacea-atopic-infection-burn-staphylococcus-allergy. The truth is that the self-esteem of many professionals is based on the lack of feedback they receive. These 5 people will never know that they are (all😂😂!!) out of touch. The thing about “asking for a second opinion” has gotten out of hand… The good thing is that this way, every day I have what I want. Like the adulterer!
