    I just found your video. I’m am doing the same thing with my 8.8 currently. It would have been nice to hear some welder settings and what filler rod you used.

    Did you do anything specific to the house to prep for tigging the brace? I also saw in a couple of your videos you welded the tubes to the center section. I found preheating it helped tremendously.
    Solid video bro!

      @crusadergarage298  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nothing specific. Just prepped it really good and made sure it was as clean a metal I could get before welding it.

    How do you like your Strange S Trac?? Your build is almost identical to mine! Waiting to get a tig welder so I can learn quickly hopefully and I’m gonna be following your videos, just got my 8.8 brace kit in the mail. Selling parts currently for an S Trac

      I love the S Trac. It drives very good on the street and I’ve been 8.30’s at 164mph in the 1/4 with it so far. Very durable IMO.

    Great job on the fab work. What type of filler rod did you use to well the brace tabs to the tube?

      I usually use ER70S-6 or ER70S-2. I can’t remember which one I used for this.

    What size axles did you have to get? want to do this to my 8.8 for my race car.

      I can’t remember the exact length. I’ll have to find the receipt from strange. But they are their 35 spline.

  • @mrpasciak92
    @mrpasciak92 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey bro. At the end you mentioned 35 spline to go with your strange s trac. Do you have any experience with the strac? I was wanting to go with that on my build but have not been able to find any reviews on it.

    • @crusadergarage298
      @crusadergarage298  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I had one in my 69 camaro that had a FAB 9 housing and loved it. That’s why I went with it again on this build.

    Is the 5 degrees what teamz recommends? I'm assuming so and I'm about to install mine but waiting till I get confirmation on the angle.

    • @crusadergarage298
      @crusadergarage298  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly it depends on what your doing with the car and what you want. But anywhere from 0-5 degrees will work.

  • @voncash7631
    @voncash7631 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So how did you figure out the 5 degree angle I’m about to do mine wanna make sure there right

    • @crusadergarage298
      @crusadergarage298  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just took what the rear end cover mounting surface was and added or subtracted from it to get my 5 degrees

      @@crusadergarage298 ok thanks one more question how did you get your coilover relocation measurements

    • @crusadergarage298
      @crusadergarage298  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I welded the bracket in between the rails, next I made sure the rear end was centered, then hung plumb bobs from the bracket in between the rails and marked where it landed on the housing tubes.

    • @crusadergarage298
      @crusadergarage298  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not 100% sure. With my 15x12 with 6.5bs the most I could have narrowed it and still used my stock LCA brackets was 2 5/8”. You would have to narrow yours more than that with 4”BS. So I would imagine not. But then again I don’t know everything.
