Coyote Swap Fox body parts list, and price
On the rear outriggers, are you not able to weld them on the bottom side after you weld the main hoop in? Looks too tight to get a mig gun in there.
Yeah you might be able to fit a MiG gun under it. Or cut a small hole in the floor about 2” Long and MiG or tig them through it.
@@crusadergarage298 thanks for the reply. Excellent work.
Picking up another Foxbody after being out of them for 25 years. This video helps me with a choice. Thanks. Also new subscriber now.
Thanks for watching and subscribing 😎
That looks fantastic and your detailed comments are very helpful. Thanks for making this video!
I got a question. ( I am working on a ford f-150 5.0 2014) How did you get your cam caps and shift out??. I have seen some videos that they have the valve system completely out of the engine to get to end of the shift
Can you send me a picture of what you had to do to the trans tunnel? I’m also putting a th400 in my Foxbody. Thanks! FTI also builds my transmissions. I drive straight to deland
I had to do nothing to the trans tunnel. It fit without any modifications 🤷
Nice breakdown. How do you like the Holley VCT control?
It was trouble free and worked flawlessly for me. I’ve locked it out now with my new built motor.
do you have a cam for a gen 6 hyd roller or solid roller.
I knew this guy in Georgia that had mustang he called lighting. It's probably the fastest car ever to be on the road
Yeah. I know that car. Definitely faster than this one by a long shot.
Lightning definitely looked better too
This is awesome! Can’t wait to see more of the engine build!
Thanks. And thanks for watching.
I m building a 5.4. Crower did my cams for $600. Versus 2k for new ones
Yeah. These comps were expensive. 🤷
What size axles did you have to get? want to do this to my 8.8 for my race car.
I can’t remember the exact length. I’ll have to find the receipt from strange. But they are their 35 spline.
Going to be nasty!! 🎉
I hope so. Thanks for watching.
So you managed low 8's from a stock gen2 with just springs? No OPG or oil pump gear? I have a 93 LX Coupe with a gen 2 truck motor, 6R80, circle d 3200 stall, twin precision 6266 t4's. I should have input by spring. I think I'm just going to run it on 93 octane with 10-12 psi. Ls or not those are nice builds. Don't be too tough on the poor guy 😂
It had OPG, CS and PAC 1234X springs on it. Yeah I like LS motors, but when my buddy is around I can’t admit it. Hahahaha
Instead of using the front bumper bar, can you use the factory bumper? I have a 4eye and the lights are in the bumper
Honestly I’m not sure. You might have to weld on some attachments to that bumper bar, for the lights. 🤷
Did you weigh old vs new?
Sorry I did not.
Good vid. I dont have a drag car or a fox body and I think you did a good Job.
Thank you. And thanks for watching
Great video. Are those connectors straight or slightly bent? I’m doing a 81 Fairmont, I’ll have to make my own since it’s 4 inches longer than a mustang and can’t find anyone who makes those. Thanks
There is a slight “bend” in them, they are not perfectly straight.
Did you put the lower control arm brackets back in the factory spot?
No. I moved them inward about 1.5”.
@@crusadergarage298 you may have said that in the video and I missed it. Thanks a bunch!!!
Great video and information, sir. Let me ask you I have a 2011 50 and my driver side has low compression. How can I tell if I’ve been a valve or jump time? Thank you sir.
You would have to do a timing check while it’s running to see if the computer and the engine are reading the same timing to see if it’s jumped. For a bent valve you probably would have to put a bore scope camera in the cylinder and see if you can see the valve seated fully, or pull the head and valve out. 🤷
Good video. I wish I had found your video before I narrowed my 8.8. Went through a similar process. One thing I did do that worked out well for me when cutting the old ends off was to square off of the blade and drill holes in the saw base so I could use u bolts to attach the saw to the axle tubes. It was solid. No movement whatsoever. The ends came out nice and square. It's in my video "Cutting down the Ford 8 8 differential" if you are interested. Thanks.
Thanks for the very helpful info.
Thanks for watching
Definitely buy the Euroexport (OG one) not the cheaper knockoffs. This tool works great. I have to do this shitty job again because my dumbass didn't do the valve stem seals the first time. I will break the job into 4 days. 8 a day just because it's repetitive and tedious and that's all you need is to have a lapse in attention and drop a retainer , lock or valve....
nice shifting sick car
Great channel and good work congrats this vid was super helpful so thx
Do you know what’s reusable and what’s not when installing new cams and springs? Do I need new retainers, cam caps, certain hardware, anything like that? I can’t find it online
I bought new retainers with the springs. I re used the same locks. Stock cam caps are fine. You will have to buy new cam cap bolts. They are torque to yield. So I went ahead and bought the ARP ones because you can reuse them, and they aren’t that much more expensive
Thanks
Thanks for watching 👍
Yeah buddy! This is an excellent video 👍
Should’ve just used the outriggers for the cage. Don’t need the plates.
That’s what I used for my cage ?
'Promo sm' 💔
I was thinking about swapping Ford 8.8 axles into a Suzuki Samurai. Hopefully, this will somewhat increase stability just haven't decided to use ranger/explorer factory width or to go short side/short side width or long side/long side width. Or if I should just go with Ford 9 inch axles. I will also be stretching the wheelbase at least 1"-2" and will be using 30" or 35" tires. What do you think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi is that 2x2 or 2x3 mild steel
It’s 2x2 kit from TeamZ.
Some people say to use gloves when you handle new springs, so they do not rust. Is that true?
I’ve never heard that with regards to valve springs. I’ve heard it when touching certain rod bolts like ARP’s L19 due to hydrogen embrittlement.
Thank for sharing! Plenty of information to glean for my turbo build.🌟
Thanks for watching 😎👍
Keep them coming good information man!
Bad ass man I’m around the same step for my coyote swap. Thanks for all the information
✨ Promo_SM
Six of one, half a dozen of the other. ;) Good info!!
That’s it. Hahaha. Thanks.
Let’s see this thing racing already!
Good explanation of the different ways to control boost, my friend.
Pretty nice setup sir. !
Thank you. It’s been a really fun car so far.
I just try doing one with the motor in the car. But I didn’t add air and the retainer wont pop out any other way to do it?
Only way I’ve done it is with air to keep the valve from moving down with the spring. I’ve heard some people fill up the chamber with thick string or something but I’ve never tried that method. Without something on the back side of the valve (air/ thick string) the retainers will not come free because they valve will move up and down with the spring.
@@crusadergarage298 ok im gonna remove the heads and just do them like that since i am doing gt500 gasket and studs also any ideas on removing head studs they are a pain 😂 i cant even get one out yet lol
You always give a light but firm tap on top of the assembled spring and retainer before you compress it. Doing this unseats the locks a little bit and they will not stick to the valve when you push it down.
@diambo4life thanks for the info 👍
Odd question, but what is the diameter of the flange on that pump?
It’s about a 4.5” diameter area in total the pump takes to mount with the screw holes and all around the flange. The pump itself needs about a 3.5” hole to go down into the tank. If that helps
@@crusadergarage298 Thank you! That's what I was looking for.
So basically pretty cheap
Cheap ish. Lol.
So glad found your video. Looking at buying a pro street built car here very soon and of course as you described it'll mostly be street driving so while I've seen itger options for a swing out door bar I feel this is probably the easiest in terms of fabrication work required to install on an already installed cage so I've saved it and will most definitely be ordering 1 very soon
Glad the video helped. Thanks for watching.
Now 31 more to go
I need to learn how you measured a pillar to go thru dash please, any help appriciated. BTW you ra very good teacher.
Honestly I didn’t measure. It fit perfect they way I put it in. I guess I lucked into it’s figment.
Did you weigh your chopped off metal versus their kit to see Your actual weight savings?
I didn’t.
Did the subframe connectors help your 60 foot times?
I never ran the car before the build. So I can’t answer that, sorry.
@@crusadergarage298 👍🏻
That torque curve is crazy!!
How's the pump going any problems?
I had to send it in to get rebuilt. Motor went out. I have the 5 Gpm pump in there now.
@Crusader Garage and the 5GPM had treated you good
No issues at all so far with the 5 gpm pump.
@@crusadergarage298 ty brother I was trying to figure out if I should go with 3 450s but I would rather have a brushless for my E85 build
