  • Hello Guys, we are back with another Performance M video, this time we have been testing out our newly developed Stage 1 + Software which gives you the tunability of Stage 2+ torque figures, without removing the OEM Downpipe, keeping the car completely street legal! Check out the video to see the results, you will be surprised!

    Great video.
It’s very informative and really helps to decide which option to go for
I prefer the more quieter sound so would definitely go for the stage 1 plus retaining the original down pipe.

I got laughed at when I said a dyno run showed my car at 450bhp stage 1 tune with just a Remus catback and Pipercross panel filter and silicon hose intake.

With stock airfilter also 450hp most likely ;)

Great video. For someone like me who can’t be asked for the hassell of MOTs even with a sports cat and doesn’t want more sound it’s perfect.

Such a great video. Do you think if it was stock exhaust with both resonators in place it would do worse? I never thought the stock exhaust was restricting

I ve been told that the TU pump Will not give any benefit since i m still om stock downpipe. And i cant find any ots map from MHD/bm3 thats called stage 1+ 95/98ron (tu pump with stock dp)

I’ve always been under the impression that once the gearbox Is flashed with xhp you have to do roughly 50 miles to let the clutches adapt and settle in before giving it full throttle?

I am confused as i thought the standard pump was good until 500bhp. Every other tuning company only changed the pump at stage 3 ??

    • @DjNikGnashers
      @DjNikGnashers ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@timmymallet3809 BMW official figure is 335 bhp actually.
Mine was dyno'd standard and made 336bhp (on an ACCURATE dyno, with a realistic correction ratio, and strapped down properly without and chance of roller-riding.
It's easy for tuners to exaggerate figures, in fact it's harder to dyno properly and get an accurate number.
It made 411bhp after a remap, then 455bhp/634nm after a 200 cell wagner sports cat was fitted.
Tuners are just selling products, and if they can make the number higher it makes them look good and gets them more work.
There is a video on YT of an M140i making over 500bhp with just a remap, it's obviously not a realistic number, but the tuner did it to show how easy it is to fake number.

@@timmymallet3809 Apologies TM, I didn't want to come across as a know-it-all, just giving my opinion.
I knew from working in the motor trade for many years, dyno numbers were all smoke & mirrors, and have seen the same car do 8 runs on the same day with the same fuel same temperatures outside, and make 8 different torque readings (the bhp is then calculated from the torque figure) 🙂
But even so, I didn't realise just how much variation you can achieve with simple adjustments.
If you let the car ride the rollers a bit so the tyres loose contact with the rear roller, that can gain 10-15% easily. If you make a tiny change to the correction ratio when calculating the torque to bhp number, and the transmission loss when calculating the flywheel bhp from the wheel bhp number, that can make a big difference too.
On top of that, if you put the ambient air temp sensor for the dyno in a warm place, again that gives a more favourable number.
Tuners are just selling a product mate, like any other product. While there are always going to be small differences, because no two engines are ever going to be completely identical from the factory, dyno readings are basically not worth the paper they are written on.

Not being funny - NVM when they are explaining their mapping videos on M140is looks way more knowledgable than this.
Not hating but you could tell he knew something was up with that stock run dunk result - take these results with a pinch of a salt I’d say
