Really appreciate the classical music. Such a nice change.
Fire trucks,
Fluffcats,
and Firewalls
Oh my🤩
I think some Luciano Pavarotti would be some great background music.
I love your problem solving abilities, sense of humor and choice of filler music.
Haha thanks!
I like his jacket, very retro.
My truck had a cowl vent, foot well vents and annoyingly in wet weather -floor vents. I put rubber matting down to "fix" the water ingress, eventually moving it on as a rust free resto project....the buyer decided he didn't want to keep the free rusted areas n fixed it totally removing both character and ambience. Love watching you faff about!
I think I would have gone for option 3.....Kittyhair.
I'm working my way backwards through your videos... I feel that is the best way to understand your sense of humor. It's at least as good as your workmanship... I feel we could be friends because we have a similar sense of humor, and that seems to repel most people. However, your sense of workmanship is far superior to mine, so that plus the fact that I live near Seattle will probably prevent us from really bonding. Tell your cats hello for me and keep up the good work.
Jesus Kyle at one point I thought you were going to do your can can dance sketch 💃. 😃👍🏴
You always goes for perfect.Metal master. Love your video's. Always learn from you.Thank you.
Thought I should comment at least once since I've enjoyed all your videos. I don't have any body work experience but your channel fascinates me. I think I finally figured out your sense of humor (humour) enough that you know full well how good you are but I'm going to tell you I anyway: You're very good. Thank you for showing us your work.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm glad to hear you've been enjoying the videos!
Who knew I could hear such classy music by simply tuning into the Homeless Bodyman Channel! Cheers!
english older M G 's had a tidy little heater..... easy to hide....I sure got ur back.....haven't missed an issue of ur book.......... genius at work.
The music and commentating A plus and the cats are so cute I could go on and on anyway opus magnus .
I always prefer a Newfoundland butt weld over a Louisiana lap. Thanks again for sharing
I've really been enjoying the music.
Live stream would be great! Any evening or weekend is good
Watching you fiddle faddle while listening to “Piston Baroque” …sheer enjoyment!
Your decision making process on " finding one door shorter 😉" is the building industry motto.
Good job on the fire wall.
Perfect mung scrapping music! Bravo~!
I love the cowl vent. I hope you keep it.
You know Kyle, this reminds me of a time when I bought new spark plug wires, the wires were a bit too short, so I had spacers machined to lift the Cylinder heads 1/2", she was a bit hard to start after, but the wires turned out real nice!!!
Hahah I'm glad to hear you were able to make it all work!
Hahaha!!
The Firewall turned out looking as good as you intended it too. Your 200 years of experience is definitely showing through in the project. I cannot think of anyone else alive with the same amount of experience that could do the same.
Nice work.... 9pm
And you have a lot of patience great body works
Nice fab work Kyle. The firewall looks stock and clean. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Ken!
Awesome fitting job. Thank you.
The can can music was an excellent choice.
Thanks for another great video Kyle and the firewall looks amazing. God bless
Firewall looks great. I like the idea of retaining as much of the original that you could. Chip Foose could learn a lesson from this.
Thanks! Chip Foose is doing just fine without me haha
@@CarterAutoRestyling * Do you sign the final project?
@@gallowaylights No he does this weird dance ritual and deposits his DNA in various areas on and inside the Car...
Enjoyable content for sure. Thank you.
Subtle reference: Newfoundland treatment, LOL
Looks like a factory custom. Looks great
Baroque music adds to the medival garage
Wow, you must be a vampire at 200 yrs of bodywork. No wonder you’re so good at it .
I always love your old school approach to bodywork.. I learn something from every video..
Thanks!
Thank you Dan! Very kind of you to help out!
Firewall turned out great. Your videos are inspiring to get out to the shop and get some work done. My kitties are in the shop and curious about what in doing out there. Happy New year 2024.
looks good. thumbs up man
Wow! You blended in the firewall to look factory! I did notice you didn't add the standard factory number of spot welds! I can't wait to see you teaching the chickens how to drive the truck!
If you decide to keep playing that classical music then take it from me that I won’t mind a bit.
Love your work as well.
Sharing a little-known Stovebolt performance secret here.... we all know they don't like to rev. You can continue your hybrid shortening/ sectioning techniques on to the engine- just cut the top off the block and section the con rods and pushrods a corresponding amount for a more favorable bore/stroke ratio. (3 inches might be a bit extreme though.) Then add that injection setup you demoed a while back. Hope this helps!
My old 235 went great..the gearbox and diff ratios let them down
Love your videos.... Great welding.... Love the burnt jacket and classical music too
Ahhhh,, the heavenly, celestial can-can heights of welding in firewalls,, 👑🤩👑
Thank you ever so much Kyle, for your time and work it takes to sharing this project,, ❤🙏❤
Most harpsichord of any automotive TH-cam channel. Very impressive
Thanks for noticing! I had a heck of a time finding a local harpsichord player to do the music for me
Seriously, love the classical music. Also, fellow cat person. Two of my own.
Thoroughly enjoyed the running commentary in this upload. "Body work for 200 years".... and your reference to Fitzee's out east (I think) made me smile too. Keep it up, great work Kyle!
This is another awesome video....
You are the Obie One Kwnobi of these trucks.....
You don't give yourself credit. Many utubers refur to you on their channel on being the guy to watch.
Hopefully, the money will come....
Keep it up.
Thanks Scott!
For someone who plays a bumpkin character, you have some serious skills. Keep up the great work!
Like your music. Impressed with your work.
"It's not about doing what's easiest, it's about doing what I want."
Love it!
Awhile back I bought a copy of The Complete Book of Hotrodding from 1959. They threw in the September 1953 HotRod with the Polynesian on the cover and featured.
That's a great coincidence. I'll be picking up a copy of the Rodder's Journal to go with it.
Wow!! You actually quietly and subtly inserted a quote from the Airplane movie. This surely will become an epic video!! I know, I know....don't call you Shirley!! Thanks for another great video!!!
Nice job.
I'm behind on my commenting. I have been distressed after watching a documentary on the Super Pig invasion you are apparently having up there. I can't thank you enough for the great soundtrack. I play it while I'm baking, so a lot. Like almost all the time. I will definitely be archiving these videos and watching them frame by frame. Mary and Joseph like looking out the window in the winter and laughing at the squirrels in the snow. On an unrelated note I learn a lot from your videos. Thank you for your time.
I appreciate your talent and Dickensian attire. Thanks, Kyle.
One door 3 inches shorter than the other........... don't you just hate it when that happens?? I recognized you as a slacker when you took the easy way out and shorten the whole cab and other door, firewall etc., rather than the arduous task of lengthen the door. Well, I guess you'll be cutting corners for the rest of this build. lols
You make this all seem easy.......... that's a skill in it's own. Incredible amount of work you are doing there for a few youtube bucks.
You're getting close to 30k subs !
Keep up the great work on the Chicken Truck !
Thanks
Thank you again Billy!!!
“I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. If you know what I’m doing wrong, let me know.” Admiral Ackbar: “It’s a trap!”. And for the record, I don’t know anything about myself, Kyle is a supreme master compared to me.
Man it's good to see that firewall come together, this project is great! The outro confirms my belief that store-bought cat toys are a bit of a waste of money, ain't no cat toy like a cardboard box cat toy. Cheers!
I always tell people who complain about the adds about the TH-cam subscription that makes it add free for them if they'd like. :)
"That is a lot of work for something covered by the hood" I chuckled at that one, cuzI know you'll be showing off that sweet 6 pack under there!
Thanks for explaining how you matched the rear floor pan to the cab back. I enjoyed the video. The cats are always a treat to view.
I love it! That firewall is going to have a lot of people scratching their heads trying to figure out exactly what you did.
appreciate your comments and feedback...I've taken some time to go back and view some of your back-catalogue and you truly do have great skill and an even sharper eye for detail. I guess thats what many years of practice can do. I am also loving your sarcasm and the cats..keep it up. do what it is you want...I would love to watch a 'live' but timing wise from Australia may prove difficult...thanks again for your commitment to the project
As ever great content, and expert metal working, mixed with a little satire. 👍
Looking great, making good progress 🙂👍
I vote for lead, would love to see it done again.
Really glad you're sticking with the inline 6!
great video
Bang away, loving It all😊
Looking forward to the live event. Great work Kyle.
Fantastic audio choice. Your cats have good taste. I see you cleaned up the shop too. Keep the great content coming.
If kylie is like me he won't be able to find anything afterwards..........
Another great video! 👍🏼😊
Great as always! Cheers from Southern Maryland USA😀
Fitzee would be proud
Watching the entire Ad in these helps get a little more coin in Carter’s pocket. If you’re like me and would like to support the channel but Patreon isn’t in your budget, not skipping ads is the a good alternative. Nice work as always!
Thanks, I appreciate you sitting through the ads! I know they are terrible and wish there was a way to do this without them
No one scrapes mung better than you. It must have taken decades to perfect your technique. Mmmmm, Fiddle Faddle. A great example of how careful evaluation of the entire project going along can save a lot of time hassle in the end. Cheers!
Careful evaluation eh?...I was going to chalk it up to beginners luck, but I like your terminology better!
Haha
You should offer those Welding Jackets in your Merch Store.
Just some ratty old flannel jackets for sale! LOL
Thank you for sharing your work with us. Most of us couldn't do what you do on a dare so the ones that do criticize are only curious because of what they've seen on YT. They, like me, probably really appreciate the time you take to explain why you do things. At 67 it's a learning experience more than anything. Your welding blows me away. I have fit and welded for a living but what I did was more like running a bull dozer and your work is more like art. I lost $20,000 dollars worth of tools and equipment so I'll never get to use what I'm learning but watch your videos helps me. Also, my cats are all feral so I don't have anyone to tell me what to do. lol
Another great video on the chicken truck. Keep ‘em coming.
Cool work! It looks as it has to be that way. Love it!!!
The stock looking firewall looks great! Nicely done, as always. See you next time.
Haven't seen any doors like that but I've seen them with shortened window openings ... turned out great ... live stream on December 25 ... can't think of anything goin on that day ...
classsical music - an excellent choice for the cluck truck!
A lot of very useful info but by far the most informative was the backstory to handprint on cupboard door. Thank you Kyle. Saskatchewan mozzies and summertime mmm😮
Aahh! I recognize the Newfoundland cut-n-butt technique! I think he would approve! Offenbach is a nice touch!
Kyle... that Firewall turned out very well. I'm glad you couldn't leave it alone and decided to fix the BooBoo's! If you had left them alone... what would we have learned?
Incredible!! Those cowl vents really do provide some incredible ventilation. It's all your vision. Those bezels do finish out those fenders nicely.
Thanks Kyle, I really enjoy the classical music and the firewall looks great.
Very very cool Kyle!!
With your encyclopedic knowledge of Advanced Design Chevy trucks, I am appalled that you didn't realize you had stumbled upon the ultra-rare 3100-X cab. A one-year only offering, it featured a 3" sectioned cab along with the little known high performance 216" fire breathing inline six. A unique head casting bumped the compression to an unheard of 7:1, and the exhaust was opened up to a monstrous, free flowing 2" system. Few people knew of this beast, and fewer still would admit to being embarrassed at the stop light drags as a run of the mill farm truck blew the doors off of their Rocket 88 or Chrysler 300. Buddy o' mine had one in high school. Fastest car in town ! Used to race the cops, but they never caught him. Had to get a set of concrete filled front tires direct from Chevy to keep the wheels on the ground. That guy made $2,000 a week, street racing, and this was in 1954. His name was Garwood . . . or Garnats . . . or Garlits; something like that. From Florida, I recall. All true, I swear ! 😅😅😅
Nice work K-Man. Your choice of music is outstanding! Reminds me of Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid. Well played young man, well played.
Everything I learned about classical music, I learned from Bugs Bunny and Looney Tunes. Your choice of music is a highlight of the video. An Impala hood ornament might add to the smoothness of the truck.
Looks like it grew there.
If at first you don't succeed, try a bigger hammer.
When it comes to stuck and rusty nuts and bolts, you just have to outsmart them.
The music was deceptive.
As it peaked and then crescendo's, I kept waiting for something dramatic to happen.
And where were the dancing girls, the burlesque, Can Can girls?
What a tease.
Even less of a tease than they were, showing off their ankles and knees.
Thank you for the video
Keep 'em coming
Thanks Darren! I'll try to keep at it!
Kyle you are a master at what you do. I couldn’t do what you do in a month and make it look as good. This is a fascinating project. Glad you are sharing with us.
Love the look and smooth running of a straight 6.
That firewall came out awesome. I like the idea of using the straight 6. It fits with the look that I believe you are going for.
I'd watch anything you would like to show . My doctor says I'm not crazy.. I thought you might put a v6 or v8 in your truck. You answered my question in this video. ✌️👍❤️🇺🇸 Cheers.
Awesome work k Carter!! I’m so happy you are doing a full custom! I’m
Still loving the yellow colour too ! Excited to see more soon ! From greasy dean
Thanks Dean! Yeah the yellow is sweet eh? Haha!
Back in 1965 My dad had a 1951 3100. He removed the 6 cyl. and installed a 265cu V8 out of a 1955 Chev car and installed in his truck. He kept the original 51 trans and it did fit to the 55 bell housing. Also, the orig. 51 driveshaft and rearend was used. He let me drive it one day and I broke the ujoint because I popped the clutch trying to burn rubber. Let me get things straight. I went back and looked at the passenger side of my 53 and it does have the louvers as you said, I was thinking they had louvers on both side. I WAS DEAD WRONG. Love what you do.
Haha awesome story! Thanks for sharing!
