Honestly, I haven't done extreme Behemoth either. The most frustrating thing is that it's probably not even your fault when the quest fails. Also if you want to wear the full Drachen set you don't really need the layered armor, since the skills of the regular set make it good enough to be worn as a whole thing. Ancient Leshen isn't that bad in my opinion, sure he hits hard, but I had less trouble with him than I had with Extremoth. And you're getting better rewards, even if you don't care about Ciri's armor I can recommend the dual blades, and you can upgrade Geralt's SnS too.
Leshen is not bad so long as no one else sucks. Bring health boost 2 or 3, health augment weapon, health booster and preferably something with a shield. Max flash pods/flies and even stun resistance. He's a pain in the ass til you learn his moves, but he's one of my favourite fights.
Obviously farming a lot of money should be one of the most important (and easiest) points, cause you'll need it for getting the new weapons, armors, etc.

Wow... I can't believe its 2021. I remember my first time playing a Monster Hunter game. It was so different from the games I usually played. Just a totally different experience. It made yesterday such a great day!
honestly if they add G rank armor they may add a new rank of armor upgrades didnt they already confirm Pure Armor spheres so what stops people from upgrading/augmenting there high rank armors to Master Rank level
you have always been able to upgrade high rank armor to close to g rank armor defense in previous games. g rank armor makes them obsolete by having way better/more skill points and slots in very rare occasions, you'd still want a high rank piece simply because the devs didn't add a g rank piece that had an equivalent or better combination of certain skills and slots. but for the most part, g rank armor is simply better due to better skill points and slots
@@aliasonarcotics what if you had a build that PERFECTLY suited your playstyle and weapon its fully upgraded/augmented max defence but the new armors cant support your build so you use the increase in upgrade the defense if your armor to G rank level to the new max level
@@xavierlawrence1705 that is possible, but very unlikely. because traditionally, g rank armor just has so many slots and skills that it's really hard to find a high rank piece that can't be replaced by a superior g rank piece i'm not saying it can't happen of course, one good example is azure rathalos's armor in mh3u, where the high rank version had better dps skills than the g rank one AND its combination of dps skills were difficult to find in other monsters' armors. so high rank azure rathalos armor still ended up being used in g rank endgame but it's a very rare case. you can usually safely bet that there's something in g rank that will be better than your high rank stuff
Master Rank will have the G-Rank level monster parts, meaning that monster gems will be considered High Rank level parts and each Master Rank monster will have a new "gem" type item that is extremely rare to drop. Like Rathalos Mantle or Brachydios Palium. The Gold Wyverian Prints will likely still only work for Gems, meaning a new Wyverian Print will likely need to be farmed for new Master Rank parts.
#14 Although KT weapons will become obsolete, your normal weapons won't as you'll be able to upgrade them further with master rank items. So go and make all the normal weapons you want
Collecting every possible KT drop fucked my inventory. I think I'm missing one or two weapons, and have hovered around 997/1000 slots for nearly a year...
@@jimmy_stath1656 In the long run yes, but I can imagine that firstly you'll have to hunt or gather materials for master rank weapons, so starting Iceborne off with Kjarr weapons seems to be the way to go IMHO
My list. - Pray to RNGesus that they're kind to is all and gives us the decoration we actually want - Obtain Gamma armor pieces - Get KT weapons - More investigation runs against Elder Dragons - Wait until Iceborne and play other games.
Ikr. That's what I'm trying to do. I need 5 in total of just mini and large crowns and its killing me. Also getting 1000 quest with a weapon. But I guess that's more personal 🤔
We should accumulate some of those event quest loots, there will probably be master rank versions of the events stuff (am looking at you rocket powered GS)
@@TacynMegan I completely agree. It is an awesome great sword but I would like more variety. I legit use the Vaal greatsword just because I like the look of it at this point
The first monster won't probably be to hard to get your first G Rank Armor. But he's right. The High Rank Armors and even the Arch Tempered armors will be useless in Iceborn
I have a few other things to suggest doing. 1. This is just a personal goal of mine, but I've heard there's some kind of achievement for doing it: try and hunt 50 of each monster before Iceborne's release. This does not include Zorah Magdaros, Kulve Taroth, Behemoth, or the Leshens. It does however count for all normal monsters up to the likes of Deviljho and Bazelgeuse, as well as all other elder dragons including Xeno'jiiva. 2. Try to reach hunter rank 100 at least before the expansion drops. This rank, I believe, is when you unlock the absolute final optional quest. Also, I'm aware that the highest rank is 999, but I feel like after 100 or so, it just gets arbitrary at that point. 3. I know this was already mentioned, but I'd like to add to it. Augment your weapons to the maximum level, but also augment the defense rating on your armor build. Yes, I realize Iceborne will likely make such a thing obsolete, but I'd say it's worth doing until you have been able to craft some decent master rank armor. For instance, I have an armor set made of three Xeno'jiiva beta pieces, one Kirin beta piece, and one Kirin gamma piece. Currently, with skills/decorations and the defense level of each armor piece after full upgrading and augmentation, my armor rating is little over 500. This has allowed me to tank multiple bad hits from normal tier elder dragons, maybe two or three hits from tempered ones, and maybe one bad hit if I'm lucky from arch-tempered elders. Point is, max out your armor and weapon power for now just in case. My guess is the first few monsters in Iceborne will be only slightly harder than your typical high rank monsters so it's not such a crazy learning curve.
8:08 Im reminded of HR Alatreon back in 3U, which was still a challenging fight even with end game gear. Though I was also considerably worse at the game back then so maybe that was just me.
Lol with the new decorations in mantles I bet people will just run temporal and the mantle that lasts longest/recharges quickly with attack boosts decorations
I shake my head at this as well and im sure Vaati and other Fromsoftware purists are too...to each their own i guess but to me it makes it completely unwatchable and i tuned out at the dlc.
One that I think is important that you didn't mention is to try learning as many weapons as you can. There are 14 total weapons and it's always nice to know other weapons than your main because if there's a specific monster that you're having trouble with it can help to try other weapons to see what works.
Just say in the title "collect everything before Iceborne comes out" xD!!! Anyways, already got every weapon/armor/jewels/etc I needed (not every single item in the game though), but the ones I surely needed - including all 7 attack jewels, and that's enough xDD
"Farm all decorations" hell of a time sink. While I'm sure they'll be useful, it's confirmed at this point we're getting new ranks and new combo skills.
My advice for you: start the quest and put the SOS join settings on manual so that you can manually accept who joins your quest and who doesn't. Try to wait for people that are at least HR100+ so that they are more likely to have some experience with the game and cart less. Best case scenario you get 3 people who are above HR300, almost never had people like them cart on normal Behemoth because they have fully upgraded sets and augmented weapons, as well as good armor and playing skills. I've heard from multiple people that PC players seem less good at the game somehow, maybe because there are fewer PC players who played previous MH games, as PC players most often stick to PC games and won't wander off to the lands of consoles and handhelds. If you're a PC player I recommend accepting players manually even more, due to that reason.
@@lagideath I've seen so many HR300 who sucked especially in arena lol. Don't check the Rank, check the sets they are using see if the skills they have make sense and if all their stuff is transcended.
@@Egoistic_girl I would've recommended that if it were possible during accepting SOS joins. You can only check sets if you join quests yourself. I always do that on AT quests to see how high the chance of them getting killed is. Always astonished when I see someone in an Extremoth or AT quest with sub 400 defense.
Another point of advice is to rotate your canteen. Do some bullshit low quests until Felyne Insurance pops up as a daily meal bonus, then eat for that. Then you'll have 4 karts to work with. It can also work mid fight, like if someone karts/goes back to camp and checks when they can eat again, they might luck out and be able to eat for insurance right there.
from years of experience, I'd say that the two only thing you should really care about before reaching G-rank is stocking up on supplies (pots, honey, dash juice, etc) and getting at least one of every weapon branch maxed, at least for your main weapon type, that way you can upgrade them straight to G-rank and check out the new weapons for cheaper. All you armor sets and kulve weapons will become irrelevant as it always has been , but they will still help probably for at least 1 star G-rank or however many stars is the first tier of quest when iceborne comes out.
12 things to do before iceborne. Get to end game.content, end game builds, and end game stuff. Average MHW player. Oh...so .dont work, dont pay Bill's, dont pass go dont collect 200 dollars
I started playing like a week ago and I'm suprised that I got so much to thing that I have yet to explore xD (to those wondering I'm at the part where I got the ship to bring you stuff from time to time)
The one thing you should do is Greatest Jagras over and over again. Only thing that will not lose importance are decos, and Jagras is a pinata filled with those. Weapons will lose importance, as will armor with the new ones released. Event quests are fine for cosmetics, but the weapons are also likely gonna be old stuff. Kulve stuff is likely not going to be relevant, either.
just for reference. in monster hunter generations and gen ultimate, when i transfered my save i went through all of g rank and finished the story with a level 10 dreadking high rank armor set(max as of generations). this was pretty much one of the "end game" sets that people would go after and i didnt have too many hitches while progressing. this isnt to say that its an absolute replacer for g rank sets, but i dont believe it will be one of those make or break things like man without this g rank set there would absolutely be no way i couldve cleared this mission. what im trying to get at is the meta will shift with certain things and skills being changed(i.e. max might being dead at sub 5.) but meta sets now should still be good even going into master rank here. you can even use your old weapons for a while as well but i would think that weapons would be something youre going to want to look at first. i would highly suggest narga which spoiler alert has high affinity and has always had the highest rating of sharpness in each game it was in. it wont have the highest raw but the shear amount of affinity and sharpness modifier it has out the box usually really helps it out. wasnt the cream of the crop for non elemental weapons in say generations ult, but its definitely a good starting point. i would say keep your mind open and look for things that look similar with better stats as to what we have now.
Since I am on PC it bothers me the more, that i have everything exept maybe No.6 and 11 already checked off my list. And still i have like 10 hero Streamsones and 20 warrior at minimum of each type (i am not using bow/insectglave, so i kinda got double to tripple the amout of these) and about 25 golen wyverian prints in my box. The only thing i am guilty of nt having on mass are Anjanath, Legiana and Rathalos gems, because I got a ton of maxed out and augmented weapons (I got 4 different wyvern ignition impacts' : one with double attack, one with attack and crit, one with attack and heal and one with double heal). I just hope "Winter" refers to December 2019 and not February 2020 :(
How did you get so many hero streamstones? I've gotten two in 300 hours. I literally only fight tempered T2 and elder dragons. I need Warrior: Axe for my CB but I never see them drop. What am I doing wrong?
@@IloveGorgeousGeorge Well at first, I nearly got quadruple your time, using about 300 for kulve, 100 for all quests and the rest for speedruns on AT, trying to get better times than players like tsc. I got close on the AT kushala but never passed the 3 min mark until i gave up speedrunning, because i got frustraded and bored. I really dont know if AT's have a greater chance to drop streamsones than "normal" temp elders, but i assume so, because i guess every 2 runs at least you get one streamsone from AT's
I wouldnt even do the AT fights for the layered arnor, in most cases the elder dragon armor in master rank is leaps and bounds above high rank ED armor.
I have a feeling all the current KT weapons will simply be upgraded via whatever the rare farmable drop is from the G rank KT. I really hope they're smart enough to not invalidate every weapon people grinded for, while still requiring you to have earned the HR versions (which would still drop from the G rank siege)
I hope they are not forcing us to upgrade Kulve weapons. They are throwaway weapons anyway. O prefer to build them from the ground up. Gives you a connection.
Tip for AT Nerg. Area 1 sleep him under boulders and cluster him until Area 2. Let him Turf War with Kush/Teo BEFORE YOU MOUNT/KO!!! (If you mount before TW then JUMP DOWN! The knockdown is not worth losing the Turf War) Once Turf War has happened, Farcaster and switch to a thunder helicopter (Thunder IG with cons3) and just spam aerial attacks. Why this works is pretty simple. In SOLO, Nerg will focus between you and your Palico and stay relatively still; which allows you to helicopter from head to tail particularly easily. ALSO, aerial glave tends to dodge 9/10 of his attacks. Got my 5 kills last night using this method. Hope this helps!!
@@jonarhax3388 then switch to Helicopter, his armour is way too OP to miss out on! Also, you can sheathe the IG in time to Superman Dive if his roar catches you. Good luck!

In addition to #5 Collect all Decorations, I would say "Collect a lot of Decorations". While the Gold Wyverian Print and the Gleaming Streamstones will become obselete (or more easily obtainable), I'm guessing there will still be a way to trade your extra decorations with the new Streamstones. Right now, the highest decoration trade is getting us Worn Feystones but I bet we'll be able to get Warp Feystones and/or higher. I’m a firm believer that the HR 49 Tempered Kirin quest should be done Solo by every single hunter that plays this game........ You should be “Gate-Kept” until you prove yourself worthy for the endgame lol
I don't agree with content being locked behind a quest that needs to be solo. It's a MH game. People expect to play with each other. You might as well play the game offline if you need to prove yourself ready for endgame. And endgame isn't really much of anything except grinding for the things you want. If MHW was free, then sure. But it isn't. By the way, HR doesn't necessarily mean that you're an expert or the like. It just shows how much of a person's time that they put into this game.
I've already completed every quest, have a mixed set for every weapon (multiple in some cases), have hundreds of every item / monster part. Wow... I can't believe its 2021. I remember my first time playing a Monster Hunter game. It was so different from the games I usually played. Just a totally different experience. It made yesterday such a great day!
tbh, I think they'll just add a new tier of Master Rank relic weapons for Kulve Taroth to bring it up to date and that's it.
My money is on MR Kulve Taroth giving Relic Armor based on existing armor sets with extra slots and/or slots.
Maybe we'll get to finish her instead of just breaking her horns
Maybe it will be a kulve taroth with an ice mantle instead of gold
Y’all seen the new glavenus subspecies. It uses a debuffing element and lives in the rotten vale.

honestly if they add G rank armor they may add a new rank of armor upgrades didnt they already confirm Pure Armor spheres so what stops people from upgrading/augmenting there high rank armors to Master Rank level
xavier lawrence good point. I thought that they might allow you to use a lot of resources to make your armor viable again
You can probably upgrade them through but they won't have the new slots nor as much defense
you have always been able to upgrade high rank armor to close to g rank armor defense in previous games. g rank armor makes them obsolete by having way better/more skill points and slots
in very rare occasions, you'd still want a high rank piece simply because the devs didn't add a g rank piece that had an equivalent or better combination of certain skills and slots. but for the most part, g rank armor is simply better due to better skill points and slots
@@aliasonarcotics what if you had a build that PERFECTLY suited your playstyle and weapon its fully upgraded/augmented max defence but the new armors cant support your build so you use the increase in upgrade the defense if your armor to G rank level to the new max level
@@xavierlawrence1705 that is possible, but very unlikely. because traditionally, g rank armor just has so many slots and skills that it's really hard to find a high rank piece that can't be replaced by a superior g rank piece
i'm not saying it can't happen of course, one good example is azure rathalos's armor in mh3u, where the high rank version had better dps skills than the g rank one AND its combination of dps skills were difficult to find in other monsters' armors. so high rank azure rathalos armor still ended up being used in g rank endgame
but it's a very rare case. you can usually safely bet that there's something in g rank that will be better than your high rank stuff
Working on that
zeroZyra I can’t wait to makes the brachydios hammer simply put on dat day something other than me is getting a explosion to the face
Collecting every possible KT drop fucked my inventory. I think I'm missing one or two weapons, and have hovered around 997/1000 slots for nearly a year...
2300 hours? Yeah I got plenty of time for that. Let me just go quit my job right quick.
For #7 Kulve Taroth Weapons will be a great starter weapon for Iceborne IMO
would rather use normal weapons because you can upgrade them to their master rank forms
@@jimmy_stath1656 In the long run yes, but I can imagine that firstly you'll have to hunt or gather materials for master rank weapons, so starting Iceborne off with Kjarr weapons seems to be the way to go IMHO

@@TacynMegan I completely agree. It is an awesome great sword but I would like more variety. I legit use the Vaal greatsword just because I like the look of it at this point
I don’t think they will make our currents sets obsolete. I think they may just give the option to lvl the gear up further by armor jewels or augments.
Have you played the older games because 100% of the time the armor is obsolete
My guess is the first few monsters in Iceborne will be only slightly harder than your typical high rank monsters so it's not such a crazy learning curve.
how epic would it be ig plunderblade just has you palico whip out a giant greatsword and smack the monster making it rain shiny drops
8:08 Im reminded of HR Alatreon back in 3U, which was still a challenging fight even with end game gear. Though I was also considerably worse at the game back then so maybe that was just me.
You should do a video on layered armour
The game tells you...
TGC: "Solo ExBehe and Treedude "
Me: "Nope!"
Lol with the new decorations in mantles I bet people will just run temporal and the mantle that lasts longest/recharges quickly with attack boosts decorations
About the prints, gems will probably be pretty common drops from master rank quests like in previous games, so maybe not so important.
#13 Speedrun through Bloodborne using spin2win smh
I shake my head at this as well and im sure Vaati and other Fromsoftware purists are too...to each their own i guess but to me it makes it completely unwatchable and i tuned out at the dlc.

One that I think is important that you didn't mention is to try learning as many weapons as you can. There are 14 total weapons and it's always nice to know other weapons than your main because if there's a specific monster that you're having trouble with it can help to try other weapons to see what works.
Also try to unlock all of or as many of those weapons upgrade trees, otherwise your gonna have to do some backtracking, which can be annoying.
Bruh i got the normal behemoth solo with LS but the extreme is a different Thing xD
Took a bit of your advice, and got all the ingredients. It was nice revisiting the game after several months away. It really is very fun.
Just say in the title "collect everything before Iceborne comes out" xD!!!
Anyways, already got every weapon/armor/jewels/etc I needed (not every single item in the game though), but the ones I surely needed - including all 7 attack jewels, and that's enough xDD
*Cries in 2 story attack jewels*
Thomas cries in sold my attack jewel
"Farm all decorations" hell of a time sink. While I'm sure they'll be useful, it's confirmed at this point we're getting new ranks and new combo skills.
I still haven't beaten normal behemoth someone always carts at the end.
@@lagideath I solo ATs to keep the monster's HP pools low.

Can I just wait until Iceborn to beat behemoth? I can't stomach losing against him anymore.
just for reference. in monster hunter generations and gen ultimate, when i transfered my save i went through all of g rank and finished the story with a level 10 dreadking high rank armor set(max as of generations). this was pretty much one of the "end game" sets that people would go after and i didnt have too many hitches while progressing. this isnt to say that its an absolute replacer for g rank sets, but i dont believe it will be one of those make or break things like man without this g rank set there would absolutely be no way i couldve cleared this mission. what im trying to get at is the meta will shift with certain things and skills being changed(i.e. max might being dead at sub 5.) but meta sets now should still be good even going into master rank here. you can even use your old weapons for a while as well but i would think that weapons would be something youre going to want to look at first. i would highly suggest narga which spoiler alert has high affinity and has always had the highest rating of sharpness in each game it was in. it wont have the highest raw but the shear amount of affinity and sharpness modifier it has out the box usually really helps it out. wasnt the cream of the crop for non elemental weapons in say generations ult, but its definitely a good starting point. i would say keep your mind open and look for things that look similar with better stats as to what we have now.
Make a video about the items armor etc that we can only get during festival for new players that haven't experienced the festival
Watch the other festival videos. Its already done
Woah this is exactly what I needed. I just finished the main game and I was wondering when to transfer to Iceborne. Thanks for the video ;)
Can you make a video for all of the layerd armour sets and canteen ingredients, that would be very helpful 👍
An attack jewel? Three gold tickets? Getting past phase two in AT nergigante? Noice
Tip for AT Nerg.
Area 1 sleep him under boulders and cluster him until Area 2.
Let him Turf War with Kush/Teo BEFORE YOU MOUNT/KO!!! (If you mount before TW then JUMP DOWN! The knockdown is not worth losing the Turf War)
Once Turf War has happened, Farcaster and switch to a thunder helicopter (Thunder IG with cons3) and just spam aerial attacks.

You should be “Gate-Kept” until you prove yourself worthy for the endgame lol
I agree. HR means nothing if anyone can be carried.
