    Great points!
As someone who has owned a 2007 Raptor 700 and an 06 YFZ 450, I always liked the 700 better. And you hit the nail on the head on the reasons why. When I got the rear axle extended and wider A arms on the raptor, I ended up just selling 450 since i started to ride it less and less. I dont do big jumps or track it, so it did everything better than the YFZ. And people seem to forget, with equal oil changes and care, a 450 quad will need a rebuild long before a 700 due to the raptor being lower compression and the fact that you dont need to rev it out to make power.

Thanks for sharing your insight! I’m thinking about getting a raptor and wanted to ask you if you can share what length and make of the rear swing arm you got was and what manufacturer of front A arms? Your recommendation would be really appreciated! Thanks!

@@richarddonnagriffin7369 Sure. If I remember correctly, both front and back were +2 wider. Rear axle was a G-Force brand, but not sure if that brand is still around. And I can't remember the brand of the front a-arms as I bought them used off ebay.
If I were to do the same mods today, to stay on the cheaper side cause I am still not a hardcore rider, I would do a Tusk rear axle and Alba front a-arms. Those would keep the price down and I would put the saving toward a nice set of front and rear shocks. I have heard good things about Rocket Ron shocks, plus they're on the cheaper side while still providing an excellent shock.

As yfz450 owner and a fews years of experience, the biggest thing I miss is reverse. And I can fully believe the suspension is better on the 700 for trails. It’s definitely rough with a group of people trying to to keep it slow, but once I’m in front or somewhat by myself I can really let loose and ride it as intended.

That all makes sense. You can’t beat the lightness, and responsiveness of yfz 450.

Grew up on a raptor 250 it was the closest thing to my dream four wheeler I got,I beat the hell out of it and it ran till the day we sold it,I have some motorcycles now and have no one where to ride four wheelers anymore really miss them,if I were to buy another one it would be one of these such great machines

Before even watching. 450R for track, 700 for trails or general riding.
The only thing I don't like about the raptors is how high they sit. Feels top heavy.

Have had both, great machines but designed for completely diff types of riding. Sure you can trail ride a yfz450r but its not really comfortable, set up for suspension, gearing, seating position, rev range ect trail riding. I find the raptor 700r is amazing on trails and can also hit jumps, do sand dunes ect , is way more comfortable to ride and also has reverse. Did steering stabilizer, air filter, skid plates, exhaust, better tires, grip tape for where knees and thighs grab and a kill switch for if i ever fall off. Its great on trails, jumps and also enduro/cross country style racing .... def an all around better machine for someone who is MX focused ect.

I always thought just get the raptor and buy wider a arms and rears axles so you can ride and corner and throw your leg over the seat and not worry about tipping over

There’s 3 reasons why I love the Raptor. Seating position, can’t stand having my feet under my butt, unlimited torque, and reverse.
