Change my mind, but DK 1 nailed an aesthetic, DK2 nailed the difficulty and had one of the best soundtracks over all, but DK3 nailed a mood. It knew exactly what kind of a mood it wanted to make for each level, be it goofy, spooky, haunting and gentle, or harsh and industrial, and it did so with gusto.
DKC2 nailed the thememing. The mining theme has the sounds of people mining to the beat and even included the sounds of the wind. Rig jib has that traveling Vikings theme and very pirate like. Captain K Rule has the big boss epic pirate theming to it with some guitars.
i agree. people talk bad about dkc3 and its music but i think its soundtrack is just as good as dkc2. I think its just more subdued and "mellow", its more atmospheric, and that isnt for everyone. but it works perfectly for the game.
DKC2 Really nailed the mood and feeling too. Everything is so harsh on the player, you have to pay for saves, visiting other areas, and hints/tips. All things that DK got for free all the time. The levels were all industrial and grittier than most platformers. A volcano mining complex, a polluted bayou, and a haunted barren forest to name a few good examples.
@@jamestomlin5525 Well, my guess is, the Zinger population decreased drastically after Diddy and Dixie defeated Queen B. and destroyed their natural habitat, Crocodile Isle, so Kaos had to build these robots called Buzzes to replace them. Or maybe there just arent any Zingers in the northern kremisphere. Sorry for bad english 💀
I don't know how to describe the feeling of hearing this song but so many memories just flooding back at once - of the house I grew up in, seeing a newspaper on the table (more common in the 90's) and playing this game in the living room on a cloudy day.
I feel like this the closest we got to DKC3's answer to DKC1's Aquatic Ambiance and DKC2's Forest Interlude. It doesn't quite have the melodic captivation of the other 2, but the soundscape it creates is just as impressive-sounding.
She truly did! She deserves waaaay more props~💜 David Wise is amazing, but he didn't make the DKC Trilogy soundtracks memorable single-handedly; it was a joint effort~
One of the best soundtracks from the game. Your work is amazing,as i always say. Water World would be an excelent choice for the next video! Keep it up,Sam!!
I don't have a lot of favorites from DKC3, but this is for sure one of them. The characteristics of each instrument are much more defined and crisp in this mix. Very nice. I'm also a big fan of the reverb you crafted on some of the voices; it really enhances the etherial nature and watery aesthetic of the track.
2024 and remembering the old times with this soundtrack. It would be great to have a remastered version of the whole DKC trilogy from SNES with these soundtracks
Ah memories! Golden sweet memories I tell you! Back in the day when games gave you more of a challenge while at the same time still being fun to play with a kick ass soundtrack, not to say that modern games aren't hard either. Man! I really gotta play this again, it's been WAAAY too long. I own 2 super nintendos, but don't have DKC3 on either system. I used to have it but the cartridge got so old and nasty from blowing in it alot so I had to throw it away, however I can still play it on my old wii since I bought it for virtual console several years ago. I can also play DKC3 on a homebrew snes9x gx emulator on the homebrew channel on wii.
0:30 The waterfall sound is missing. Not that it matters because the MP3 and FLAC files include it. Also, the song doesn't sound too bad without it. Fun fact: This version without the waterfall sound was in a WAV file that you can't find anymore.
DK3 was the game I had when I was a child. I wasnt the lucky one who was able to get all 3 at the same time... I ended with the first 1, but never was able to play the second one... I should try to emulate it sometime... But its just not the same ...

Fisher did alright with DKC3 OST, but Dave Wise's soundtrack for DKC2 was a really tough act to follow, and Wise is one of the most talented people in the space. I think her soundtrack would be better regarded if it came before Wise's.
hmmmm I would've guessed this track was from the mountainous rope-climbing levels. it sounds like something dangerous, high-up and urgent. no time for melody, gotta survive!

I can still hear the blue crocodiles screaming: rOooOoOOOOH!

I could listen to this 5 hours straight
Saaaame...
This music is seriously underrated :))
and i often have!!
All day long!
The best soundtrack ever. Incredible how perfect the DKC trilogy was in every detail.
I agree and I hope in the future Nintendo can make a new DKC game on switch with K Rool as the villain again.
@Dry Boi That would be awesome I hope the Switch gets a new DK game it could be a 3D one.
@Dry Boi Yeah and have the soundtrack be done by both David Wise and Grant Kirkhope two of my favorite composers of all time.
Only thing I hate about dk3 is the mech wasps. Like... why? The zingers were in the first two, why change them in 3?

You're the hero we need.
the flashing blue on this video is a disservice on an otherwise pristine experience
I like to think it better emulates an old CRT television

DKC 1 OST: Descriptive, distinguished, canny
DKC2 OST: Energetic, flamboyant, powerful
DKC3 OST: mellow, subtle, misty
You describe those like fine vintages and Im totally ok with that

This is one of the best tracks of DKC3 with the sewer level, the saw gimmick level, the cavern level, and the canyon level (burning rope).
Amazing and flawless recreation of the original. The quality is absolute Bud!
Great work as always Sam.
Eveline Fischer hizo un excelente trabajo ❤

This song actually legitimately feels refreshing like a drink of water.
You better get that Cox Communications bill paid, Sam. 👻(14:43)
*sigh* this game came out right when I hit kindergarten, and even though i played dkc2 beforehand this one had its own magical feel. I wanna go back!
i listen to these and just keep imagining all the SFX from the enemies and all of that

Este soundtrack me gusta mucho buen contenido 👍
The music in these games is phenomenal

Restore the Christmasy winter one soon I hope :)
This was my favorite soundtrack from DK😊. And I loved when the beat dropped😅 that shit so nostalgic
