Brawl mods continue to prove when it comes to actual love and passion, no one does it better than the community for it and most likely will remain the most dedicated and passionate modding community for any of the games in the series.
I'm just glad they continue to mod it specifically since I enjoy its aesthetic the most. Giving a bright and colorful cast a dirty grungy tone was pretty experimental at the time
@@_G.C honestly based. Besides Mario and Luigi's weird realistic overalls, making all the characters go into a slightly more mature style while not losing elements of what made them who they are is definitely very difficult and so easy to mess up, but they nailed it easily. Id rather have a semi realistic smash with actual detailed effects than the shit uktimate is doing thats for surr
@@Dhampire1976 My thing with ultimate is how washed out some of the colors look, like pikachu or zelda. On certain maps they look bleached almost, not to mention the switch not being able to handle advanced lighting so when you look closer at some models the shadows look really pixelated
@@_G.C yeah a lot of the colors are washed out and models are not as detailed/shaded properly loke they were in sm4sh.the effects went from explosive realism to 2d anime slash effects like bruh. I get probably because its a handheld and they needed to make over 60+ characters so in that context its okay but still Maybe we are just nostalgic af but idk. All the old smash games before 4 and ultimate had charm or magic in them. The new ones not so much unfortunately
@@Dhampire1976 Not to mention how are they going to follow up on it? They called it smash ultimate, included the most characters and stages to date, and basically jumped the shark as a whole. The main thing I could see them doing is rebooting it with less characters, more refined and updated movesets, and just overhauls in general when needed
That would ruin the whole point of their inclusion that you mine as well get rid of the second Ice climber. Smash ultimate pretty much perfected the pokemon trainer idea, considered to be one of the best designed characters.
I remember after one PM update I, a filthy casual, was playing a buffed Lucas against my competitive Fox/Falco-main friend. I beat him handily and he was speechless lmao. Funny memory. We need a part 2 with more characters!
@@projectz358 Unfortunately, Nintendo won't allow it at majors, along with Smash Remix, a mod I'd argue is just as good as P+. It also desperately needs it's own version of Slippi like Melee. You have to find other people to play it. Combine that with the lack of large tournaments, and it makes it hard to justify investing a lot of time to play it seriously. Ultimate had the potential to be P+ if they just reverted to the Brawl/Melee physics engine and brought back the ability to do all the tech. They didn't even keep DACUS, the one cool advanced tech from Brawl.
@@projectz358I know right Actual combos for EVERY CHARACTER not just Mario and all the other brawlers and real non brawl hitstun I would play it if I wasn't afraid of bricking my switch or getting in hot water with my PC
Bowser actually won the very first Project M Major. Via a player named Kirk at The Big House 3. He beat a player who eliminated Mew2King in the same tournament.
Charizard was one of my favourite changed characters in Project M. I have so many memories of using the down b glide to chase opponents upward and glide around the stage. It's too bad none of the later iterations used this move. Then you add in his lanky tail attacks. Heat wave. Throw it in a pot. Baby, you got a stew going! Would love to see you cover charizard someday! But I can't complain too much since you already talked about my other two mains, DK and Mewtwo
Honestly I don't have much experience playing P+since they added that move. But it looks like a fun time! Maybe I should boot up the old wii again@@bobbob7885
Interesting idea I've had for a video topic, so with Pokemon Trainer, it's obvious that Project M separated the trio because Brawl PT was awful, however with Ultimate PT showing how amazing they can be, it would be interesting to see what general opinions are regarding if they should be kept separate or if hey could work together.
I remember being excited when I realized what jumping out of QD meant. Another change to QD that I don't think I saw mentioned was how you have the option of not swinging the sword, making it less vulnerable as a recovery tool and made it work well with having the option to jump out of it. Also the fully charged OHKO existing was pretty funny. But the most important change of all was giving Ike his blue flames. P:M did it before Sm4sh and I'll take that as the biggest W for the community over the official games.
Last day I played classic mode P+ with Ivysaur on Hard. Reached the last battle between Master Hand and Crazy Hand with only 2 out of 5 lives, I lost the first life early on. I had to take down 100hp of Master and 200hp of Crazy without f*cking dying and dodging a lot... *somehow I pulled it off.* mainly thanks to the directional airdodge.
Yo Zach im curious if you ever seen a low tier bottom tier or mid tier get OVER BUFFED thats a unique idea characters who were awful in their debut game but became A MENACE in future games resulting in people hating fighting them Aka Roy Sonic, Pac Man, Mega Man,.ROB Palutena and Shulk
Project M is the most balanced game, all of the characters are balanced, for example: the bottom tier characters in project M are still viable characters, just not as much as the other characters
So basically Ultimate but Melee's engine. Proves Melee players exactly that their game not needing patches is ridiculous because Project M is Melee but better
I remember messing around with pm3.6 bowsers pac file when I wasn't satisfied with how he played. Pretty happy with him now though I wish aerial koopa claw dthrow had better base knockback
Loved the video man, always good to learn more about P+. How did you get the brawl characters in a green screen to remove it in editing? Is it a gecko code in dolphin?
@@FransenYTIt's a stage on Project Plus, go to the Stage Selection Screen, then select the Training Stage on the 2nd page, and then instantly press X or Y
It's unfortunate that a lot of high level Melee players shit on PM for having a poorly balanced roster, but it largely seems to just be players not being used to the 23 year old tier list where only 5-7 characters are viable at the top level.
Mewtwo isn’t a light weight he’s floaty. Fastfallers can survive vertical kill moves easier that a floaty. Bowser despite being the heaviest character dies earlier to a fox up smash compared to falcon because bowser is more floaty that falcon
Feel like it should be noted more often that p+ has the largest viable cast of any smash scene, says alot considering it outnumbers the game with 100 characters.
I hate ikes forward air. Me and my brother play project plus for fun every once in a while and that stupid move is like the freest ledge guard tool and I hate it

PM/P+ made the best iteration for Ike & Sonic 2 of my favorite characters in this game
Great video! I’m glad the TH-cam algorithm blessed me with this.

Nintendo needs to write notes down on how you can make a heavy good.
