To make thicker frosting for a base frost and piping on decorations that do not run just add confectioners sugar by the teaspoon under a mixer until thickness is reached. You can also extend a can of frosting by using shortening and some powdered sugar. For thickening chocolate frosting a bit of cocoa with the sugar will achieve a thicker effect for piping.
@@markinri1877 if you knew anything about baking you'd know there's no baking involved lmao. A bag of icing sugar, butter, flavoring of your choice & a beater or a spatula. Takes 5 minutes & tastes so much better. Guess that's too much to ask of this generation. Got time to sit on the internet or play video games all day though.
@BonitaIrwin-fs8mp some of us work full time for a living. Personally, I'd rather spend the time baking and decorating the cake instead of making the frosting.
That recipe gives you something that tastes similar to the canned frosting but grittier. A swiss meringue buttercream is not that much more work and is not sickly sweet
What is your favorite frosting flavor?

Thank you for the great tips. I learned a lot from this segment.
My favorite frosting is the Pillsbury Toaster Streudel frosting.
I used to steal frosting out the can when my parents weren’t home lol ………
I'm 41 and still want to do that lol
When my son was a kid, I had to hide the frosting. Otherwise, when I got ready to bake a cake, the frosting would be gone.
Awesome video! Grandslam here!
Why not make your own? that stuff tastes like chemicals.
Some people don't have the time to bake all day

I make my own. But for those who don't, or are really pressed for time this this is for them.

Homemade frosting is easy to make, why buy canned at all?
How? Please share a recipe.
You lost me at "bacon".
