and there was just enough of bad ape and his comedic moments to help break up the overall bleak and sorrow filled atmosphere of the movie. this is exactly how it should be done. masterfully executed by reeves.
Bad Ape mimics human's behavior to the lil girl by telling her 'put it down, no touch', just like the way people usually do to their pet. amazing details of directing by Matt Reeves! can't wait!
Man I love this character. He’s a perfect blend of tragedy and comedy. The way he says “bad ape” and then points to himself makes my heart melt. He clearly is a sad character, however, his years of paranoid isolation have made him come off as comedic and ignorant. What a great character.
2:19, Does anyone else feel kinda sorry for him? the way the line was delivered, so beautiful and sad... Man, this movie will be astounding! can't wait!
I think he was meant to serve a huge purpose. Being raised in a zoo. Repetitively reciting “bad ape” as it was a testament to live by. That’s why ceaser looks at him inquisitively for so long. He was devastated. Being isolated in a zoo for years and then forced to continue that time in a confined lonely cave due to humans taking over the woods. He gave ceaser even more of a reason to fight.
Did you ever see the original 1970's ones? They had a great story too. It was a bit different but this updated trilogy is done amazingly well. Just check out the originals sometime. They're dated and campy but still good stories.
Although out of character I feel. How would he have learnt to say this? He would’ve had no one to ask him if he was okay or not in his life past intelligence
This character could've so easily become the Jar-Jar Binks of this series. Instead, he's my favourite character in the movie. Goddamn, this trilogy is so good.
I saw this movie two days ago. And I have to say, it's the best of the trilogy. I think it's time for the Academy to recognize Mocap actors. This is easily a best actor and best supporting actor nomination for Messrs. Serkis and Zahn respectively. Outstanding performances. Bad Ape completely stole the show for me. Amazing.
''Can you take us?'' "'HUman zoo?....no! never go back!" *caeser looks pissed "Look! More Snow! Cant go! MUst Stay!" *Caeser looks pissed again *nervous chuckle
When is the academy going to recognize these types of performances? Not only do the actors need to be convincing, they must do so while acting like a different species. That includes mannerisms and body language. Not an easy feat.
I have to confess, I've never been super into this franchise. But I love the Bad Ape memes because they're so relatable, and they led me here. I'm starting to genuinely love this character. Even though I'm not an actor, part of me wishes I could be in this franchise as either a character like Bad Ape, or a character who would comfort someone like Bad Ape. Steve Zahn is a national treasure.
This trailer already had me in tears, I can already tell I'm going to be crying throughout this whole movie. This movie is going to be amazing, I can tell.
@Minchius Maximus The Devil is a lie and you don’t hold my future. I can do ALL things through Christ that strengthens me. I’m praying for you internet troll.🙏🏾
Been watching all blockbusters this year and so far, this is the best. Stunning visual effect, great acting, a morally complex storyline. Just the best.
Watched this trailer with my dad and he is amazed to find out how great the CGI is in this movie.Looks extremely real ,expressions are best and it seems like this 3rd movie improved a lot from the first 2 in form of CGI.Definitely going to watch it as soon as possible.
Just watched this movie yesterday and it's outstanding. Loved the way the apes look and act. The CGI is impressive, the movie got everything to be the best of the year.
"I now understand why I still have this cruel animal instinct to let the weak and stupid die." Still, poor Bad Ape. He clearly did not get enough hugs.
Haven't even really got into this movie series but every scene from this film just oozes an amazing blend of great acting, good writing, and effective use of comedy.
Based on this clip alone, this may be the zenith of Steve Zahn's career to date. He is quite possibly my new favourite character, he's sweet and unintentionally funny! He is why the sooner it is truly a Planet of the Apes, the better, as he's inevitably suffered unspeakable horrors at the hands of humans and been told that he's a 'Bad Ape'. Both Rise and Dawn were marvellous films and based on everything I have seen of War it doesn't disappoint, indeed I have faith that it shall surpass all expectations. Hollywood could learn a lot about character development from this trilogy.
I dont know man this guy is so sweet and innocent that it made me cry.. Also the node to him being a zoo animal thus always hearing "BAD APE!" and "NO TOUCH"
“Then human kill ape, but not ME! I run!” God. So much nuance in this line everytime I hear it my eyes water. Bad ape survived against the odds which is powerful for somebody like him. Sadly this came with a personal cost of isolation, trauma and possibly survivors guilt.
I wish they gave him a different name than bad ape 🙁 I loved him. He so desperately wanted company, didn’t wanna be alone anymore. I’m glad he found it in the end. ♥️
He called himself Bad Ape because humans were always telling him 'bad ape!' So as he got intelligent he eventually came to believe it was really his name
Steve Zhan,,,my hats off to him, he nailed that role of "Bad Ape" beautifully, he was not only comic relief but a welcomed relief as well. This movie in my opinion is a top 1 or 2 summer blockbuster of the year.
I like how he demonstrated how he learned to talk and how he got his name. The way he squints his eyes and gestures his hands which he probably learned from the zoo keepers or visitors.
Already by far the best movie I have seen this year they really need to win an Oscar for this one cgi was very good and beautifully shot and for me one of the best pieces In cinema
Bad Ape provided a much needed comedic relief in a storyline that was pretty grim. He was a perfect addition to this awesome film.
I also love how although he might be this comedic relief character in this grim story, his backstory is also very sad and dark
and there was just enough of bad ape and his comedic moments to help break up the overall bleak and sorrow filled atmosphere of the movie. this is exactly how it should be done. masterfully executed by reeves.
I think he was unintentionally comedic, at least to me, he never made me laugh but I always liked his character
Too bad his descendant is likely the main villian of the sequel of this.
@@cheteyaliyanage8721How do you know that, I'm curious?
"New friends...Special Day." I love him already
So wholesome
This is awsome it’s like when my ape pet died and I did not like that day :(
@@dengchansy1 you had a pet ape? What was that like..
I cried so much 😭 but he's still adorable. So sad, referring to himself as "Bad Ape". So happy to see others.
He's too precious I just can't
Mokomboso exactly
I totaly agree
That's my baby😍😘
I love him
Bad Ape mimics human's behavior to the lil girl by telling her 'put it down, no touch', just like the way people usually do to their pet. amazing details of directing by Matt Reeves! can't wait!
But at last
: "here you keep". Said Bad Ape calmly
Bravo Matt 👏
I love how everytime he runs off they just sit around all awkward like, "so...what are we doing here exactly?"
Terry I "I'm okay" lolol
I thought when he ran off "Oh dear, he's psychotic" Bet they did too. But then a squeek "I'm okay!"
Man I love this character. He’s a perfect blend of tragedy and comedy. The way he says “bad ape” and then points to himself makes my heart melt. He clearly is a sad character, however, his years of paranoid isolation have made him come off as comedic and ignorant. What a great character.
He’s the opposite of Koba… basically he was humbled by the chaos, not vengeful.
@@SYCZkoba was a lab experiment, bad ape lived in a zoo. honestly cant even compare the both..
He's the ape I've been most impressed with looks awesome how they made him look and speak
yea its eery. Their evolution throughout the film feels so natural its spectacular to witness
Mizanur Hussain I like how they put a receding hairline on him
I still prefer Ceaser, he’s my favorite.
2:19, Does anyone else feel kinda sorry for him? the way the line was delivered, so beautiful and sad... Man, this movie will be astounding! can't wait!
Gonzalo Collao I cried inside.. that's how I feel
He had been in there alone for quite a few years. He just wanted friends, not alone anymore 😭
I know I’m late but whenever you feel sad just imagine Steve Zahn who is a funny actor moving around in a cgi suit saying those thigns
@@Jake0666 lmaoo yeah! but his performance was still very touching even though he's known to be a comedic actor, he was awesome as bad ape 🤟
I think he was meant to serve a huge purpose. Being raised in a zoo. Repetitively reciting “bad ape” as it was a testament to live by. That’s why ceaser looks at him inquisitively for so long. "She Keep..." ...I'm not ashamed to admit I teared up at that scene ..more than once throughout the film in fact.
He just didn’t wanna be alone 😭
I was looking for a comment just like this!
I dare even say this might be the best film trilogy we've gotten since the Dark Knight
As long as you didn't say LOTR
Did you ever see the original 1970's ones? They had a great story too. It was a bit different but this updated trilogy is done amazingly well. Just check out the originals sometime. They're dated and campy but still good stories.
it has to be i just watched the first movie and man forgot how perfect it was
Light Far Away which one?
Metal Head
I was so happy when he lived through the movie and joined Caesar's civillization. He was alone for so long but he found so many friends.
I love when they try to use signs with him and he's like "huh?"
I agree. Hell fit right in.
The incredible CGI continues to blow me away .
Looks better than the Marvel movies
oh so much better!
+Bhaskar Singh Tomar Yea this is really top quality CGI despite having a smaller budget than some other films.
+Fanmade Trailers legend of Tarzan looked similar
"CGI" my ass, you're looking at Advanced Genes Manipulation & Cloning
*0:57** - "LOOONG, long time!"*
I loved that scene in the theater. He talks to Caesar with such euphoria after so many years of solitude.
This is what character development should look like.
DCEU should take notes
TheSlimmshadyy, You could say they already have; Matt Reeves is directing The Batman
@TheUsername that is some shitty character development
Same for some characters from Lego Ninjago.
B
2:04 “I’m okay!” The writers just couldn’t resist themselves XD
that line waa actually add libbed if you can believe it
Although out of character I feel. How would he have learnt to say this? He would’ve had no one to ask him if he was okay or not in his life past intelligence
@@samarthkapuria
No, but he’d have seen how humans act and ask each other if they’re okay. It wouldn’t necessarily be a foreign concept.
@@kiddfaith4397 yeah I thought about that but idk just doesn’t sit right with me lol
Mark my words This Movie is gonna be the best movie of this year .

Shubham Sharma Thought that was Wonder Woman.
I was just going to say that - I am looking forward to this movie.
don't u just love when filmmakers take time to make high quality movies like this? u can tell they put maximum effort in this movie!
I agree man
New friends! Special day.
Rick Horner favourite part
Ceaser looked pissed
When he said no...
Excited Cat I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that
He's not used to being told no.
He got more pissed when he said "look snow"
Excited Cat he was the whole movie pissed, and had a good reason to be
Ceaser always looks pissed
Even after 3years and 4 months and 14 days, this movie still has that special place in my heart.
Have you seen the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes trailer?
"Bad Ape" is so adorable. He brings that necessary comic relief in every scene he is in. He's innocent and also brave :)
This character could've so easily become the Jar-Jar Binks of this series. Instead, he's my favourite character in the movie. Goddamn, this trilogy is so good.
0:56 when he says 'Long time' melted my heart
Lol i died when he slipped and said "I'm ok ;-;"
I always liked his "I'm okay!" when he slips and falls.😆

I can’t help but feel emotional when he say “that’s mine.” Like he’s worried about the other apes taking his stuff or hurting him.
Give Andy an Oscar already!!! Hands down the most moving performance I have seen in years!
My God that CG is utterly incredible.
not gonna lie whenever his expression/voice changes when he says "bad ape" i get full body shivers... this movie is going to be awesome

I like how throughout the movies Caesar’s English improves
This trailer already had me in tears, I can already tell I'm going to be crying throughout this whole movie. This movie is going to be amazing, I can tell.
Now, this is how I think CGI should be like. Pushing the limits of visual effects to help the story and character in a film.
And that is how I want my cgi effects to look in my movies when i become a film director

Been watching all blockbusters this year and so far, this is the best. Stunning visual effect, great acting, a morally complex storyline. Just the best.
Is it me or they purposely made Cesar look older/aged from war
Isaiah M well in human ages he should be in his late 40s or early to mid 50s.
He's older and gone through a lot of things.
In this movie, Caesar is 20 years old.
They can live up to 40-50 years.
Isaiah M I did the math, he's about 60 years old in ape years which means 20 in human years
Watched this trailer with my dad and he is amazed to find out how great the CGI is in this movie.Looks extremely real ,expressions are best and it seems like this 3rd movie improved a lot from the first 2 in form of CGI.Definitely going to watch it as soon as possible.

Bad ape was the best part of the film
