Well in Dawn you start rooting for the humans again seeing as how most of them are genuinely trying to make peace with the apes. Also, in most of the original movies you cheer for humans too
To be fair aside from Koba the apes aren't really bad guys. It wasn't their fault that the virus that made them intelligent was lethal to humans. And all they wanted was to be free and live their own life away from humans. Only Koba wanted war.
Will and Caesar’s relationship is so touching and emotional, and the window symbol became a long lasting legacy in this series. I’m forever curious what happened to Will, I know he’s most definitely dead but his storyline left such a melancholic legacy.

That Mary moment was it for me, even as a kid(idk why this was and still is my favorite movie, even as a kid) . Dude you crashed in a airplane, in a deserted island for years, and then still worry about your friend. DUDE! The empathy this film inspires is the reason why I love it so much.
1:16 I think another reason why this scene is so badass is due to that fact that apes are so similar to humans. The biggest thing that separates us from them is speech so seeing an ape shout “NO!” kinda breaks the barrier of us from them so it’s super shocking and surreal.
