I love the way this movie opens up and how it creates the title of war, the build up to the humans sneaking up on the apes and the way the battle was shot was incredible!

Matt Reeves was inspired by a few movies when he made this. One of the directors that he admired was Akira Kurosawa. You can really see his influence in the fighting at the beginning. Anyone else think Reeves likes the movie Ran?
