That’s awesome to hear you went the extra mile on the wiring. It was a fun project. Original owner? That’s incredible!! I wish I was the original owner of my GX.
Looks awesome! I had to use the little piece of weatherstripping and still have a bit of a gap. I also hooked my lights up to my heated seat fuse w/an additional 15amp link! Love it
Thanks James! Oh nice, so does that just turn on when the vehicle is running? If so, good call...because my route was way more complicated and could have been simplified with that approach.
@@rzabeatsdun4589 @Awesomoto -- I'm trying to figure out how the heated seat tap works. Basically use the same fuse tap, but use it on the seated heat fuse and use a 20A and a 15A fuse? And this works because when you turn on the car...power goes to the heated seat connection, but the seat won't heat unless you turn on unless you turn on the seat heat switch (but the raptor lights go on because there's power sent to that line when you turn the car on and power is turned off when you turn the car off). Is that kinda right logic?

Hey Jon! Yes, you can use a tap for the DRLs and would be cleaner. I'm not sure what I was thinking with the crimp onto the drivers side DRL at the time lol
Hey again - so I finally got around to this project and ran into an issue with the fuse tap for the running lights. The fuse is always on, not switched with the ignition. So if I have the tap in the TRN-HAZ 15 amp fuse in the engine bay box (in addition to a low beam headlight fuse), the grille lights never turn off. I tested the fuse connection with a voltmeter and realized that it was always hot, even when the car was off. When you tapped into the wire for the running lights, do you run into the issue of the lights flashing in time with the turn signal? I am wondering if they will flash when the headlights are off, and the left turn signal is on. Is a fuse other than the TRN-HAZ 15 amp fuse in the engine bay box that will only be on when the key is on? Thanks!
The raptor lights flash with turn signal when wired up light this. It still isolates left and right signals so you shouldn’t have issues where both turn signals flash.
I think I will wire my lights with a switch inside, so I can turn them off if I don't want to call attention, like in a bad neighborhood. Also, I think 4 leads would look better, I wonder if they sell only 1 extra led...
Hey Andres! I think that's an easier route to go so that you have control and less wiring to do. 4 would be cool and I think you can buy these individually, but not certain where to find.
Hey Joshua! Yeah, there isnt a ton of space in there for the wiring. I'll admit that in hindsight I probably over complicated the wiring in this video. I went through the hassle because I wanted to have them flash when I lock/unlock and also blink with turn signals and 4-ways.
Couldn’t you use the add a fuse to tap into the accessories fuse so the lights will be on all the time when the key is turned to the on position just curious And where did you add the foam piece I can’t figure out where it goes
Yeah, I honestly got too fancy with it and it would have been much easier to just use the heated seat fuse. I never used the foam piece. Apparently it’s for getting a tighter fit, but mine fit great without.
No, but I've troubleshot this with some subscribers in the past and it was that they mounted the metal latch to the wrong side of the plastic tab on the grill. Try switching the side (top/bottom) and see if that helps things click into place.
Yeah there is definitely a chance of overloading. I personally went this path as many others use this approach for vehicle accessories. One might want to reduce the overall fuse size to decrease risk, but the amount of normal current would need to be monitored to ensure proper selection. Great question and thanks for reaching out!!

So, since there's no retention at all for the tops of the bolts, there's no way to put a wrench on them, the plastic of the grill is WAY too soft to hold the tops of the bolts in place by jacking a screwdriver or something in there (the pockets shred) - how exactly is one supposed to actually fasten this damn thing down? What state are you from?
I live in Florida at the moment. You?
@@Awesomoto Oh, I'm in Indiana. Got the grille too. Hopefully, will be able to install it like you did. So the LEDs run at all time - night/day.
@@Igryan8 That’s great to hear! Just FYI the seat heater fuse will turn them on whenever the ignition is on. So no need to make the over complicated circuit. 🤦🏼♂️
Hopefully that saves you some time.
@@Awesomoto Thank you!
@@Awesomoto Hey, I hope you're well.
Will I need a second fuse if I use the seat heater fuse?

Hey Johni!
The links to this grille and all the parts for the install are in the description of the video. Let me know if you have issues accessing it.
Go gators
Get up and go!! 🐊
Only 1 fog lamp works, hood latch is duct taped and headlights are cloudy as a Seattle winter. But yet you spent $300 on a raptor grill for a 20 year old Lexus.
Aaahhh priorities in your 20s. At least his shirt made sense. Go Gators!
For 20 year old vehicle, guess you don't get the extremely reliable powertrain and excellent off road capability. Deal looks good in my fifties! For priorities in fixing stuff, this gets most bump in aesthetics for a small amount of money. Certainly less than headlights. Maybe you have GX envy? Go Blue!
