    I don't really have much to compare this video to considering it's the first one of yours I've watched but I'm definitely loving this format! The use of the scene is incredibly helpful, the pauses included are just the right length and the repetition allows you to really focus on your pronunciation. A great pace to follow and I'm really enjoying it. Look forward to the next one!

    These videos are great! I think you all should add the English spelling right under the Japanese writing so we can see the pronunciation in Japanese/English spelling.
    My reasoning for this suggestion is that I was leaning Japanese years ago and the app I was using provided the English spelling in addition to the writing in Japanese and it was really helpful to pronounce the words when I could read the spelling in English. There are still phases I remember too this day just from a few days of learning!

      I think they don't include romaji because people become too dependent on it. Also at this point in lessons you should already know your hiragana and katakana, if you don't know it then you need to go back and review it. I know I need to review my katakana, that one never stuck for me 😓

    • @alana9205
      @alana9205 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Romaji is very harmful to people trying to learn Japanese. Because of the way English speakers read and pronounce things they words will be very stressed when they don't need to be

    Oh, and for "yukkuri" your talent is doing a short pause before "ku" (presumably to indicate the double consonant) and then lengthening the "ku". I know this one's not easy to slow down but how about saying "yuk ku ri" instead of what you're doing? That should make the double consonant clearer and eliminate the incorrectly lengthened "ku".

  • @lookup2theskyagain
    @lookup2theskyagain 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Yeah, this is nice. Starting off with only Japanese the first time is definitely beneficial. I don't want to be dependent on English translations. And breaking up the sounds to hear the pronunciation is really useful for knowing how to say/ write words properly.

    There is this Japanese foreign exchange student coming this year and i would like to introduce myself properly. So since it would be in the morning would this way of introduction be the best, Ohayou hajime mashite watashi wa Eric desu

      +eric mink Make sure you add the gozaimasu after the 'ohayou', try to keep it formal for the first meeting. They will probably respond in a similar way, the 'Hajime mashite' is fine. 'Eric desu' would also be fine as an introduction, as they should be aware you're referring to yourself when you say Eric, however maybe add watashi wa if that makes you feel more comfortable. :)

      +Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com Hi, great lesson, I was wondering, what is the the difference between "kudasai" and "onegai shimasu"? Also, what's the difference between "hajimimashite" and "yodoshiku onegai shimasu"?

    • @ナフィ-n1f
      @ナフィ-n1f 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Robert Langdon accrording to what I know(from anime), kudasai means "please", but it must have other words. Such as "tatte kudasai" means "please stand up".

    • @ナフィ-n1f
      @ナフィ-n1f 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +navi "Hajimemashite" is said "before" you introduce yourself. while Yoroshiku onegaishimasu is said "after" you introduce yourself(according to my analysis and basic Japanese lessons I once had in high school.

    • @ナフィ-n1f
      @ナフィ-n1f 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +navi Onegai means please, but it is said when you beg someone ( learn from anime XD). usually I see cute anime girl begging "onegai" with kawai face XD
      it is just my analysis. You need to check this with your friend who understand Japanese.
