Hi Sir, I'm your new subscriber from Timor Leste. I can understand what you said. I've started listening to and watching your video about real English conversation and always imagine when I become fluent. Hehehe I'm so happy found you on TH-cam. Thank you
according to British English, I would love to listen to BBC podcasts, they have a lot of programs such as English 1 minutes for the beginner, the English we speak or English 6 minutes, etc. I feel like the pronunciation of the British is super charming, I really love it. speaking of American English, I usually listen to Rachel's English, she analysis very clearly how the native speaker says in reality. I think my level is pre-intermediate and now most of the time I focus on speaking skills. Thank you for reading.
My level is upper intermediate in English, I definitely recommend ABC Brisbane radio (look for online radio box, and type that radio station) they have a contest and there are random trivias every day, also they talk briefly about news so I love it because keep my update and is people really pleasant. A podcast that I like is All Ears English, girls full of energy while talking. And a SitCom that I have found the most entertaining for me is because with it is a efficient way to enrich my vocabulary it is called "The Big Bang theory", as you say is specific for me, is enjoyable and is comprehensible (although sometimes I don't understand because of high level vocabulary, but they tend to repeat those words, so I can memorize it, also they speak so fast is hard to catch what Sheldon says).
So true. I've been looking for this video my entire life as a teacher. I enjoy the part where you say that understanding English is difficult even to native speakers, as that's truly encouraging to students who struggle to grasp a few words in a simple sentence. Thanks a lot dude.
For me a really good exercise to improve all the skills at the same time is "transcription". Just take and audio as for example the one of this video and write all what the speaker says and then speak aloud at the same time that you are reading what you typed. Last year I didn't understand almost anything , so this year , 20 January I guess I stated watching videos in English every day from 6 PM to 11:30 PM , and it's helped a lot with my listening and my pronunciation , sometimes I can't get across what I feel, it's crazy for me to understand 95% native English Speaker , I studied American English, but I prefer British one . But sometimes when I am speaking it seems like I can't find the right words . But I will improve my English

I'm a native spanish speaker, and the most useful resource that I found to learn and practice my english (vocabulary and pronunciation) was watching movies in english with english subtitles.
Thanks for the interesting video and, most of all, for something that really felt "eye-opening" for me, when you say that even you native speakers can find it so difficult to understand movies or music. I got a C2 Proficiency level many years ago, but listening has often been frustrating for me. If not in conversations or watching videos, surely when watching some movies (where I istinctively turn up the volume to understand and sometimes with no benefit...) or listening to songs, where I have to pay attention to get the lyrics, and also in this case not always successfully. Always telling myself in frustration "you are a C2 level, you are supposed to understand everything!"... So thank you for the suggestions to improve, but also for this "little secret"... that no native speaker had never told me before!

Hello Jack , I am trying learn this module for a long time but no one ,no one really could interpret the subject so beautifully. My heart felt gratitude for your kind helps. Thank you
The main thing that i use to improve my listening Skill is watching tedx talks videos. It not only helped me to improve my listening skill but also motivates me. And I try to find time for seeing films in English. I can feel the differences when I did all these stuff. Now I can almost understand native speakers talks😻
Thank you for your helpful lesson. I agree listening is key to learning a language, English. I have my car radio syntonized on the BBC World Service, and I listen to the news every time I drive, finding it very helpful, besides I get used to different accents. Lately, we had a computer crash at the office, and I had a challenging phone call with the IT specialist of Ryanair in Dublin. I am an informatic ignorant not knowing even the basic Office package. The first difficulty was that he spoke with a different accent than I preferred: a US accent. In any case I comunicated and solve the problem except for a specific word I did not know, and he kindly rephrased it. I watch daily many You Tube vlogs in English, maily American, about my preferred subjects as watches collecting, MTB riding, hiking, Englih learning and sports in general. Finally, every Tuesday evening I attend a meeting (BlaBla Bergamo - Make Friends & Language Exchange) in my city in Italy where we have a drink and converse mostly in English. There are some foreign, three US citizen, an Iranian English teacher and other European partecipants speaking fluent language. You can find the same in your city and it helps a lot besides being fun.
Hello Sir, You are indeed a wonderful teacher. Your teachings touch my heart. They are really very helpful. You are very easy to understand and your voice has so much depth that I feel like listening to you all the time. I often watch your videos and those helps me to keep going on my journey of learning English. Thank you so much for your life changing videos 🙏🏻
It was so good to understand everything you said even tho I'm a ES navite speaker (Colombia). It would be pretty good to most EN teachers to speak that clearly. I got a B2 EN level and my main resource it's been listenting EN music I like. Thank you for the tips
Thank you for the outstanding and informative video lesson. My level? I could understand every word you said except for the "graded reader," that I'll look up in the dictionary. I could even follow you without missing a word at 1,75 speed. Every day, driving to work for about 40 minutes, I tune my car radio on BBCWorld News, and I basically get the meaning of every topic. I sometimes struggle with some weird accents, as when I try to follow conversations between Irish and Scottish people (pilots, crew members, etc.). I work at Ryanair Training Center in Milano (Orio al Serio) airport; such conversations are quite frequent.
I think my level it's around B1. I used to practice more frequently speaking, talking with people who's learning also Spanish (or Russian, 'cause I speak a little bit) and when I realized that I need improve my listening too, or pay more attention in this area, I started to watch movies that I watched, just like you say, and now I'm discovering you channel, a spot where I can see I can practice listening and, at the same time, get those great tips. Thank you))
Guys, ABL takes a lot of time, you can not say that im going to be listening for one month and I will be perfect at the end of the month. it really takes time. for me, for the past two years, all the news, tips, DIYs, video tutorials, literally everything I wanted to hear/see, I listen to it in English. and now I can proudly say that I have understood every single word in your video using a speed of 1.75 cuz the normal one sounds a bit not normal to me.
Your clear English accent makes British English to seem easy. I could understand you very well... listening is the begining of a lenguage learning process.
Personally, I always use audible to listen to self-help books. It was due to my motivation to improve myself and my life. Conveniently, these books are written in English, so I can improve my English and life at the same time 🥰
"All Ears English podcast" is the best in my opinion. I'm listening it everyday... They are great! They always been having a conversation almost in a normal pace, using slangs and new expressions, explaining contexts and situations.
hey man, I REALLY like all ears english, I almost have all these podcasts haha It improved my listening (actually it's improving my listening every day) but,If i'm not wrong They make the podcast from New York City, so, they have a new york accent Do you recommend some podcast from California (with a Californian accent)

It's an awesome video and I would recommend other English learners that they should watch TV shows in their target language and listening to songs is another very effective way of learning a language because when you listen to the songs you will automatically learn grammar and vocab so I think listening to songs would be a better one

Hello. Answering your last question about the resources we use, almost a year after being this video released, I feel quite awkward. But anyway: I'm advanced (I hope) and what I do a lot is read in English any books I want (not adapted ones, just books), watch series and films in English and also I often listen to the podcast of your fellow English teacher Luke Thompson “Luke’s English podcast”. I've recently bumped into your channel and found it great. Thank you.
Hello Jack, I am Aymen from Algeria. I have many difficulties in learning English in speaking and listening, but I try to watch your videos and always follow your advice. I wish you carry on and best luck for you.
Thanks a million for such great advice. I really enjoy watching your videos, because I find them really helpful. I'm an Egyptian English teacher, and YES, listening is a troublesome skill to the most of EFL learners:D I always recommend them to practice it as much as they can to master these skills. I think English-subtitled videos are a good start to improve listening skill. They help the brain to process spoken language and get used to it.
I think this is the kind of videos I was looking for, I almost understood everything you're saying and that was really great. Personally, I love improving my listing skills through "GAMING" beside watching movies.
Well, I've been studying English about one year ago and when I don't feel motivated I like to watch this kind of videos☺☺☺, in part cuz I understand almost all and that feeling it's pretty breathtaking.

Your accent is up to the mark. One can understand it without any extra effort. I love your pronunciation. Listening 🎧 and watching are two very effective ways to learn fluent English.
M'y conclusion from the video I watched is that if you want to improve your listening skills in English you have to listen as much as possible and there is so many ways you can use like listening to podcasts, watching movies or listening to a story that you know before because understanding the general idea of what you're listening is so much important then focus on the words word by word Also you have to listen to a different accent's to make sure that you will understand Avery thing you hear

When it comes to listening, my most favorite podcast is the stuff you should know. Listen something, which you truly enjoy,it could be your favorite artist interviews, or may be songs too. By time, you will surely start enjoying the process of listening. And remember guys, listening is one of the most sought activity, when it comes to learning a new language. Keep learning, share your ideas, over here. I would love to hear from you guys. A big shout out to the creator of this video. Kudos to you too. I'm a college going student, I am also working on my spoken English. I was randomly strolling on the TH-cam. Luckily, got end up, on your video. The idea or tricks, you told in it, is splendid, it is not montanous, like those traditional things. Keep going man...... Lots of love from India
My level is somewhat between a B1 and a B2 level in English. My currently approach in order to improve my language includes watching tv and listening as much as I can in my target language English.I listened to the whole Harry Potter series and as I finished I started to listen to them again.I read HP1 and now I extending my English universe to other fields and topics. I watch Scrubs,How I met your mother,Malcolm and other stories where I‘m familiar with. The more I hear the more it feels naturally .Every video I watch is in English it doesn’t matter what ,my native language German is dead at least in terms of media consumption.Unfortunately it doesn’t help me with my speaking skills, therefore they‘re terrible.

Can you please let me know how much time did it take to you?
How can we search tedx
Hi man, I’m from Brazil and I could understand everything you said. I’m improving my listening, because this is my main difficulty.
Glad I found your channel! Thanks a lot!
I'm glad you did too.
Hello Sir,
You are indeed a wonderful teacher. Your teachings touch my heart. They are really very helpful. You are very easy to understand and your voice has so much depth that I feel like listening to you all the time. I often watch your videos and those helps me to keep going on my journey of learning English. Thank you so much for your life changing videos 🙏🏻
Great sir i am very useful
It was so good to understand everything you said even tho I'm a ES navite speaker (Colombia). It would be pretty good to most EN teachers to speak that clearly. I got a B2 EN level and my main resource it's been listenting EN music I like. Thank you for the tips
OMG i fall in love with your pronunciation. It s perfect!! I was able to understand every word you have said Im from Agentina (spanish language)
Your accent is amazing, I wish everyone speaks as clear as you do.
My level is B2, and the resources that I love are podcasts. I find more enjoyable through them. I'm very appreciated and thankful for your work❤
Thank you for the outstanding and informative video lesson.

I like the way you teach: it is much easier now to listen to either any music or watch any movie. I apreciate it
Your clear English accent makes British English to seem easy. I could understand you very well... listening is the begining of a lenguage learning process.
Personally, I always use audible to listen to self-help books. It was due to my motivation to improve myself and my life. Conveniently, these books are written in English, so I can improve my English and life at the same time 🥰
This is a great idea.!
Hello
I do the same 😁
"All Ears English podcast" is the best in my opinion. I'm listening it everyday... They are great! They always been having a conversation almost in a normal pace, using slangs and new expressions, explaining contexts and situations.
hey man, I REALLY like all ears english, I almost have all these podcasts haha
It improved my listening (actually it's improving my listening every day)
but,If i'm not wrong They make the podcast from New York City, so, they have a new york accent
Do you recommend some podcast from California (with a Californian accent)
@@victorcasine Yes! You are right! They are from Boston and New York. You can try "ESL Podcast"
podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/english-as-second-language-esl-podcast-learn-english/id75908431
"Whit the host Dr. Jeff Mcquillan from the beautiful Los Angeles, California"
But in this case, they have a slow pace... you can accelerate, I think. The subjects are great and Jeff very clear in all explanations.
It's an awesome video and I would recommend other English learners that they should watch TV shows in their target language and listening to songs is another very effective way of learning a language because when you listen to the songs you will automatically learn grammar and vocab so I think listening to songs would be a better one
Thank you for the comment!
I found your video looking for "how to improve my English".
Your video was so good i got it everything. Thank for your recommending tips
You are the best .
I haven't practise my english so long a go ,i remember that i have studied the 5 hypothesis of krashen at the university ,thank you so much for the motivation .
"If at first you don't succeed; try, try again," is my advice for learning English or any other language!
My level is advanced. I love listening to Sky News and Deutsche Welle (English edition). They have also many interesting documentaries. I didn't understand everything at first, but now after I've been listening daily
How long did it take you to understand it clearly?
Thank you.
It’s my first time to listening English without subtitles. Your accent is very clear, I understand what you said. I love your accent.
For the first time.i follow all the video at the end because I understood mostly all your speech . I sincerely thank .
I meant I sincerely thank for your advice
I think this is the kind of videos I was looking for, I almost understood everything you're saying and that was really great.
Personally, I love improving my listing skills through "GAMING" beside watching movies.
Well, I've been studying English about one year ago and when I don't feel motivated I like to watch this kind of videos☺☺☺, in part cuz I understand almost all and that feeling it's pretty breathtaking.
Ana Garcia me too 😂

Hello! I think my English level is Medium. I have to speak in English in my work, so for me this is very useful. In my book I have learned a lot by watching videos with English subtitles, because in some cases it is easier to identify words that you don't know and then search for the meaning.
Thanks for the new knowledge!
Thank you sir! I came from Guinea-Bissau west Africa, a Portuguese speaking country. Now I live in Dubai Emirates. Always I wanted to update my English skills.
Your accent is up to the mark. One can understand it without any extra effort. I love your pronunciation. Listening 🎧 and watching are two very effective ways to learn fluent English.
M'y conclusion from the video I watched is that if you want to improve your listening skills in English you have to listen as much as possible and there is so many ways you can use like listening to podcasts, watching movies or listening to a story that you know before because understanding the general idea of what you're listening is so much important then focus on the words word by word
Also you have to listen to a different accent's to make sure that you will understand Avery thing you hear
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ✨
Wow I understood all you told man, I'm from El Salvador, and it's very difficult to me when English native speakers say something 😪 but I'll work on my listening because it's the most important skill 🔥 thanks for your advice have been useful. 👍
This is the kind of video I needed, I am struggling in this area, links and idioms and the speed people talk with is difficult to understand, I like the recomendations you give, thank you.
I'm a college going student,
I am also working on my spoken English.
I was randomly strolling on the TH-cam. Luckily, got end up, on your video.
The idea or tricks, you told in it, is splendid, it is not montanous, like those traditional things.
Keep going man......
Lots of love from India
Thank you so much for another dose of wonderful English! Great tips as well 👍!
I just woke up and decided to watch a podcast videos, i found this video it gives me a lot of motivation to listen more than to speak, thanks for this advice 🙏
Thank you soo much, I understood everything for the first time without subtitles...
Much love from SL🇱🇰
Loved your accent, thanks for sharing this video, it’d be amazing to watch a video of yourself explaining the origin of your accent (I’m quite curious), I know England has a lot of different accents.. I’m upper intermediate level (B2), currently learning more expressions from series -like Los Simpsons and Futurama; they have a lot of expressions I’ve used with American speakers, and also other series such as The IT Crowd and Sherlock Holmes to understand British accent.
