  • Florida is a beautiful state lined with beautiful sandy beaches but a week of vacation and everyday life are extremely different. I've always thought about what it would be like to live in Florida vs living in Georgia and today I'm comparing the sunshine state to the peach state to see which one is really the best place to live. Florida VS Georgia: Where Should You Live?
Are you thinking of buying or selling a home in the suburbs of Georgia? My team and I would love to help!

I'm a native Floridian. I'm from Jupiter and it's amazing there but expensive for most Americans. I lived in Safety Harbor, Tampa, and Dunedin as well for years post college. I have lots of friends and family in Alpharetta, Marrietta, Canton, and Woodstock.
I moved out of FL 8 years ago to coastal NJ and love it here for many reasons, especially the quality of life, healthcare, and education it's top notch.
I will say this, I loved growing up in FL. My HS is one of the best magnet schools in the country. GA can't touch our educational system and healthcare in FL. GA is beautiful, but traffic is awful. I like both, and both have strong economies. The storms have gotten worse in FL, especially the Gulf Coast, due to higher water temperatures. I would choose to move back to St John's county, FL, over GA any day though, it has the best school district in the state, hospitals, great culture and economy and it's on the NE Atlantic side...less traffic than GA and in my opinion better quality of life for my family.

Thank you so much for sharing your perspective as a native Floridian. I love hearing other's perspectives as that is what makes one area better for one family vs another and like you said, it is what's best for your family. That's perfect!

Happy new years, now let’s get to the nitty gritty, you know that FL just makes you grin like a little school girl; the white sand, the way the sun kisses the horizon😏🥸, no income tax, etc. GA nice but there’s something about FL. Yes it does have its drawbacks but what state doesn’t. To answer the question I would live in GA.

I agree! Going to the beach in Florida and putting my toes in the sand just melts all the stress away. Unfortunately, I'm not at the point where that is my day to day. :) Georgia is home!

@@ashleylazarian that’s right!, you know what’s up!, once you cross that line to FL you feel like you’re in a whole different world at least most people do, FL ain’t for everybody.

My parents were snowbirds to Central Florida, and I always thought that I would retire there. Our daughter even lived in Lakeland, Florida, for a while, but then, because of the job, she moved to North of Atlanta. So now, dear wife wants to be close to daughter and grandchildren in Acworth, GA.

Family is everything so I understand your wife wanting to be close to your daughter and grand babies. Acworth is a beautiful town and close to a lot so there is always a lot to do. I just helped a client move into Governor's Landing there in Acworth and they love it!

@ashleylazarian We are familiar with Govenors Landing. Our daughter lives in Bentwater just down the road.

There are 48 other options, half of them better, 25% similar, 25% much much worse.

@roshi98 thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. You are absolutely right! There are so many great states to choose from if you are thinking about making a move. I'm curious which states you would vote at the top. Obviously I am a bit biased as I love living here in Georgia but there are definitely pros and cons. If someone is looking to relocate to the South, education and diversity are important to them and they love all four seasons, I think Georgia is truly a great option.
