I'm moving to Georgia from Florida. I live in Fort Lauderdale but I'm not originally from here either. The weather may have changed here since you moved, because its changed since I've been here and I've been here since 2006. Its hot and humid af here now...and its not even summer yet. I actually prefer the warm weather all the time, but its been crazy, even for me. If you google the weather, it will say excessive heat on some days. One day recently my car temperature gauge said 112 degrees, ...Of course the actual temperature wasn't 112...but it felt like it. On those days it was like the AC in your house never went off and it couldn't even keep up with how humid it was. Also the flooding here is getting out of hand. Fortunately where my home sits, I haven't been affected by it. I'm west of 95 and east of the Turnpike...so although I'm east, I'm not right by the beach. I live on the south side of Griffin and the north side is a lot of waterfront and those streets looked like canals when we got that heavy rain. You literally could see people in little boats going up the street. Even the main road in front of the airport was flooded and all the cars in the waterfront community across from it that was completely flooded had parked their cars on the main road hoping to avoid the flood were all deep in floodwater. Insurance keeps going up crazy as well as property taxes. If you actually lived in Miami, then you know the Atlanta traffic could not possibly be worse than it is in Miami. In Broward the traffic is not as bad, but it is crowded...but in Miami, there is literally traffic jams for no reason...you get to the end and it just magically breaks up, no accident, no lanes closed, nothing. Its the drivers that make it bad and congested. Also, its crazy pollen here. Granted the area I live in has a lot of greenery and not just palm trees but pollen producing trees that leave a coating on your car and windows that doesn't completely come off even with windshield wiper fluid. Here in Miami market, there are no suburbs really, its just urban and every area is crowded and congested...some more than others...but I don't see the amazing infrastructure here either. Yes, fiber internet is not a problem here. The buildings are more modern, in some areas and the style of home is generally different. Florida is the land of stucco homes, and now the newer ones are concrete block. I know Georgia has these huge wood frame structures, which I'm not a fan of making the house big and beautiful but having it on top of a wood frame, but I think it should be sufficient for Georgia weather. I know its definitely faster here than its going to be in Georgia, but I don't need fast anymore and I can visit when I do. I also detest cold weather, but I'm prepared for it. I say all of this to say, there are pros and cons everywhere and the grass is always greener on the other side.

I always have loved your content about Atlanta and its surrounding areas! Appreciate your honesty in giving the "true" pros/cons about the area! I had my heart and soul set on relocating to the area, but I think God has other plans. Continued blessings to you...

Lived there from 94-11. When the Olympics was locked in, the end was nigh. They started tearing down single family homes and putting up at least 4 living spaces in each, while NOT expanding the roadways, traffic began to get worse, exponentially. The infrastructure was not MEANT to house or accommodate the masses, but the dollah-dollah-bills kept calling.

That’s such a good point! I never put together that this infrastructure was built for pre Olympics Atlanta, and they didn’t foresee the influx of people when they put in the infrastructure.

good video, I think the word for the wise who is watching this and considering moving to Georgia....do not waive inspection to get your offer accepted!! A good number of homes are outdated and due to low inventory they are selling "As is" to take advantage of FOMO buyers willing to offer above asking price.

Hey Anthony! Completely agree bro, waiving inspection is a terrible idea!

I’ve lived here for a while, about 20 years! There are some great things about living in metro Atlanta, but there are also some bad things and I wanted to make sure people understood the bad side.

Try moving to chicago. The Kennedy and Eisenhower Expressways are worst. As far as the heat here in chicago it get pretty bad. The cold weather here is a beast. We get below zero weather. We would love for our winters to be 20 degrees. It can get -50 degrees in chicago with the wind makes it colder. I think every state is over populated. That’s why the government is talking about creating and adding 2 more states.

There are places in other states that have the same issues or worse, but I’ve never seen a realtor discourage people who are planning a move to Georgia. Every state have a area that’s not worth buying a home, because of high crime, no growth in the area. As for me I don’t have a school age kid. So the school system is not a priority for me. There are nice areas in every city. Every city has their little twerks that’s take some patience. I have lived in chicago all of my life and I’m still not comfortable with the cold weather. The point is every city has its good and bad.

That’s a great point! I think you’re right that every city has its good and bad. I want people to know the good and bad of Atlanta. Just trying to keep it balanced.

Use critical thinking, if it sucks then why are droves of ppl continually moving to GA, and other states are experiencing more people leaving then coming.
