GP thank you I asked the other day about this!! Very cool. That second STIHL 47 foot long bar was so long you almost were not in the video. Thank you great demonstration
It looks like the WCS cover definitely gives you a more focused stream of chips. I clyod see it being handy if you're cutting in a place where you don't want the chips flying everywhere and making a big mess. A situation close to a property line where you don't want to make a mess in a neighbors yard might be a good example. It would pose a problem when it came to bucking logs on the ground. The concentrated stream would build a pile of chips up in one spot faster and need to be cleared out more often maybe to get your saw close to the ground to finish a cut 🤷♂️
@groundpounder24365 Absolutely! I'd say I find myself trying to block the chip spray with my leg more often than I find myself kicking the pile of chips out of the way.
@@groundpounder24365 you’re welcome! Stupid TH-cam hasn’t been sending me notifications of your videos even though I have them turned on. This morning I’m going to a local rigging class held by a tree service. You can never know enough.
Did you have to take the limiters of the hi lo screws to tune the 880 after the bark box install? I've got one for my 880 but haven't installed it yet.
I've made 1 cut with the bark box installed, and that was one you saw on camera there. So you and I will both learn 🙂 I was curious as to what it was going to do, and that's the main reason I was playing with the throttle like that.
@groundpounder24365 I see. My saw shop mechanic said I should be able to increase fuel enough without having to remove the limiters, but to tune with a tach just to be sure. I just permanently mounted a tach to the saw, she's a dedicated Alaskan sawmill powerhead.
It sure seemed to..admittedly I have done zero tuning to the carb as of yet after the installation of the bark box. That there was the first cut on it...
Love gordys parts ..use them all for last 4 years. Or so..I do need to get those covers.i am thinking of down sizing the doggs there great protection for case when saw sucks persimmons bark or anything Into the cases .but lose few inches on bars .there just little big on the 462 and 500i. But there nice ..wish he had medium. Size dogs.generlly don't need them that big here in east Tennessee. Except on big trees .going to switch back to the velocity stack on 500i it's much cleaner setup with more flow .then max flow and less messy to assemble after swap ing filters .but not good for rain with no cover .I'll just keep a max flow filter ready for raining days.those covers are huge difference.have one on 661 but hardly use that heavy thing .500i is great for big wood if your just bucking try a 8 pin sprocket taz man told me it's better for that

I'm not really sure if there was a difference on camera, but there sure is in person
Ah, just found this after seeing your reply to my comment on your other video. I'll have to give this a watch.
What you think??

@zaccheus I feel like it's one of those 6 one way, half dozen another kind of things

Looks like it’s well worth it, definitely cleans out better
It surely does
Those slabs would make some nice end tables GP. Safety first.

Good job

Did the 880 perk up with the bark box? I imagine it wakes up quite a bit
