Thx, this helps me picking up my playing after years of not playing.. I can't even think of any reason why I stopped playing after 4 years, now I wan't to be as good and better as before, thx for motivating me again :)
thx dude, bought me an akkordeon today and needed only round about 30 minutes to get this... I cant play the bass and melody together, but i will practice as hell! have a nice day :)
Thank you very much! Melody on right hand piano style keyboard manual and bass pattern (bassline with chords) on left hand button type manual simultaneously played gives pleasant and energetic sense. So that I like accordion music.
Thanks. You'll find that all my recent stuff is Melodeon based tunes that I write for fun - rather than accordion lessons. Really appreciate you taking the time to drop a message in. You have a great name!
Chris, if you're still out there, thank you so much for getting me back into Accordion playing again. I've had a long spell away from it and tried professional lessons, but your lessons are pitched just right for me. I've found some of the shet music from your lessons just a pity 'all' the music from your lessons is no longer available...or is it?
+John Turner Thanks for your positive response. (Chris is my brother in law by the way, I'm Pete). There are some sheet music examples on that blog site, most under 2013 - then scroll down. I might be able to email you some, if you'd put an email address (if they were done on my current laptop), but I'm a bit short of time to upload them again to the blog site, after the last one was taken down.
Sorry Pete, I realised my naming mistake after posting. As you say most of your sheet music is still on the web. Quite a substantial body of work. I know you repeatedly say your not a accordionist, but your teaching style is, for me, excellent. Thank you for your generous offer. If you don't think me too greedy I'd like the music for Lesson 4 - House of the Rising Sun and Lesson 8 - The Godfather Waltz. My email address is bj@twoturners.plus.com
I notice you play this in 3/4 time. Any sheet music I've seen on this piece is in 4/4 or 4 beats per measure. Thats the way I play it. Great piece though for the accordion, one of my favorites to play.
I want to buy Accordion.. even 2nd hand but I don't know I can purchase.. I think in the Philippines accordion not could not known..thank I hope there's somebody recommend me that instrument
What a great brother-in-law you are. The sheet music for this song (House of the Rising Sun) isn't on the blog that you link above. Could you share it? Thanks!
Sorry about that. I don't play the accordion anymore, so I haven't got a copy to hand. The video at 4.45 does show the tune though, so that should be enough to help you.
I notice you play with your ring finger on the note line instead of your middle finger. Do you switch back and forth or do you always play that way? Looks like it is easier to play the minor chord that way with your pointer finger. Thanks.
I haven't played the accordion in a long time - I moved to the melodeon. But as far as I remember I always used my ring finger for the bass notes. Good luck.

Leif L. Good luck. Never too late to learn.
It's good to get positive comments - it might even get me playing again. Thanks
Very useful for beginners like. Hope to have many lessons from you. Wishing you and your family good health and success. (Mr. Trung from Vietnam)
Thanks. You are a very good teacher. This helps a lot in right/ left hand coordination
Many thanks. Your lesson has been very helpful for me as I have been struggling to get to grips with the base and chords. (Stradella 72 base)
Merci de mettre à notre disposition des conseils aussi pertinents .

Hi
Great help to a beginner but I cannot find the music to House of the rising sun on your BlogSpot; any suggestions?
Nick
Could you tell me where to find this piece of music??

playandteach --wow, can't believe such a talented player wouldn't play anymore! ;-)
Just playing other things instead - accordion was never my main instrument, but a big thanks for the compliment.
