Back when we were allowed to impersonate for comedy. Growing up I can't tell you how many times myself or someone I knew would say "you be here for 4 hour, You go home now" or "why you so biiig?" While eating Asian food. 😂
He's got to be one of the greatest comedians ever! Perfect timing and every routine spot on for laughs. Not a cruel or demeaning joke anywhere and that's rare.
It doesn't make you hungry, it just makes the food taste unnaturally good so you keep wanting more. It actually amplifies the flavor of other spices on your tongue, including regular old salt, and so does the various cooking oils on food. Oils cause spices and other flavors to make better contact with your tongue, and MSG then strongly accentuates those flavors. Most fried snacks are covered in it, and they use it the same way asians do. Mix it with some combination of garlic, ginger, onions and assorted spices, and you can't stop eating it because it's just so absurdly savory. If you like fishy tasting stuff, try getting some instant Dashi granules some time, grind them up into a powder, and use it to season potato stuff. Instant Dashi is made from dried fish and seaweed, and has salt and MSG in it. Put it on potatoes and you have a super savory instant fish and chips experience.
Stand up comedy is hard, it's like the words are a basketball and you're the center for the LA. Lakers. I like his style and have listened to most of his acts over and over, truly missed R.I.P.
Omgs I thought Fluffy was the only Comedian. Needless to say this guy is also hilarious. I had so much laugh and enjoy every minute of it. Fluffy should invite him to one of his gigs. Hamburg, NY🙏💙💙💙
He looks so young in this clip. I heard him first on Serious radio while driving. He did his “Disney in August” gig. I thought I might have to pull over. RIP, John
Wife and I saw him live three times. After one show at the DC Improv, we were waiting in line just outside the club to get our car. He and his manager were on the street, walking along the line and thanking people for being at the show. Class act who never disappointed. We saw one of his last shows, after his surgery. So sad that he's gone.
One of greats. So polished and charismatic. This is what comedy used to be. Now comedians deliberately try to offend their audience with a lazily repackaged joke from a 2009 Reddit forum.
Big John really makes me nostalgic for the '90's ....the best decade of my life... ( lost my wife Mary in 2001.) John was a great comedian...R.I.P. Big Man....Laughin' and Cryin' 🤣💙

One of his best sets! I love his bit about being in France and finding out that Italy is only 45 min away... so they went. Without saying that they gave him too much food, he spent the next 20 min explaining how they gave his party too much food.
