Fun fact - kryptonite was first introduced in a Superman radio serial. The voice actor wanted to take a vacation but the show was produced live. So they came up with the idea for a substance that weakened Superman so a different actor could do the voice. About 6 years later, kryptonite debuted in the comics.

I remember those radio shows! One had Superman fighting the KKK ("The Clan of the Fiery Cross" but w/e)
And ever since then people have completely ignored the fact that ANY kryptonite being on planet Earth that wasn't specifically brought there by way of a space ship would be 100% impossible. A planet several star systems away that explodes is NOT going to have any actual debris make it to Earth, and even if by some miracle any of that exploded planet did happen to fly off on exactly the right trajectory, the speed it would be moving at would mean it wouldn't hit the Earth for thousands of years.
Long story short; kryptonite is bullshit, and it's always been bullshit.

I so hated the fact that they made Metropolis and Gotham like a mile apart from each other. Its like saying, for a man who can travel faster than a speeding bullet and fights crime, he has no interest in traveling a mile to help out a city next door that is known for having way more crime than Metropolis ever did.

It's a shame how they wasted this movies potential over a money grab to fight Marvel. They should have designed the story properly and made it true to what most fans expected. Sadly the title was wasted. This could have been extremely good. Hopefully DC learns from this and hires better writers and directors.
Yeah, they keep trying to 'catch up' to Marvel without understanding that Marvel built the trust it currently has from the ground up, and that's after years of hit-or-miss movies with the Marvel name attached to it. DC could easily have done that, there's plenty of talent up for grabs out there, but they're trying to force it.

Good thing Superman's mother wasn't named something like Philomena or Iphigenia, or he would likely be dead. Then again, it is even more lucky Batman strangely thinks "Martha" is an unusual name. And lucky for both neither refers to their mother as "mom" or "mother", as that would have screwed everything up.
It is odd superman refers to his mother as Martha but the point wasn't solely our moms have the same name, up until this point Batman had seen Superman as just an alien destroying cities and killing thousands, the fact that he has a mother who's about to die is something Batman can relate to.

Actually, Clark prioritized always being able to hear Lois. That's how he knew to show up in the desert. It's shown in Man of Steel he focused on always being able to hear his mother and how he knew Zod was threatening her. Now it should be a sin that he can't focus on two people since he's essentially suppressing the rest of the world.
That still doesn't explain why he didn't hear her kidnapping in the first place, though.
Then why he didn't "hear" when she was kiddnaped? We Know the lore behind it, is still a plothole. Basically this movie didn't know wtf do with Superman, they dont know how to use him yet.

The problem with this movie is its trying to catch up with the MCU and making cross over movies before firmy establishing everyone. We had a bunch of movies establishing characters before we got The Avengers. Here all we have is the Man of Steel and staright to this. This tried to be a climactic showdown with characters we just met

I always hated how no one explained how the bat cave was made. Only exception is Christopher Nolan's version because Fox's basement level with his inventions was pushed away then used by Bruce but he still had an actual cave so who knows.
Why do we need to know, hes a batman who has been batman for 20 years, hes obviously built the batcave and upgraded it along the way. Unless people just wanted it to be another batman origin story

What is she talking about? That was what Man of Steel spent nearly all of its time asking, to the point where it was getting extremely annoying, and to the point where they had PA KENT suggest that he SHOULD have let a bunch of kids drown in a bus.
Look, I get that people don't find Superman relatable because of his boy-scout tendencies, but they spend so much time asking "What should he do" that they try to make even choices that have an unquestionable right or wrong answer into something ambiguous. That is the biggest reason I don't like this version of Superman. In an effort to make him relatable by not always having all of the answers, they go too far and make it impossible to relate to him by having him be so confused he can't even recognize the right thing to do even when it's very clear.

It's a fair question for a realistic version of superman.
He has the power to change the world but what right does he have.
He could sort out North Korea in an hour and make it a much better life for the people in that area but what right does he have to intervene
Asking where he should draw the line is fine. Making the most basic decision of right and wrong (such as whether or not to save a bus full of children) a complicated philosophical debate isn't. "Life isn't that simple" doesn't mean "Everything in life is a complicated and tedious grey area." There are some choices out there with a clear right and wrong answer, and it irritates me that instead of having him go through actual difficult choices where anyone can understand both sides, they try to turn those clear questions into false difficult choices.
For example, your North Korea scenario would be a grey area. Loads of people suffer there, but if he just barged in and started fixing things, he could destabilize the situation which could lead to much worse consequences. That would be an understandable dilemma. The ones they keep picking for MoS Superman are not understandable dilemmas because many of them are easy choices to make, and yet they still try to convince you that the obvious wrong choice is a potential right choice.

lol, yeah, understandable. tldr, Black-and-White moral choices exist. Morally ambiguous choices in movies should be ones where people can honestly relate to both options, not forced ones where there is an obvious right or wrong option like whether or not to save a bus full of kids.
That's what pissed me off the most about Man of Steel. They spent the first hour exploring Clark's character. They keep setting up the idea that Clark WANTS to help people, but he doesn't because his dad told him not to and that's why he's conflicted. Then the second half of the movie takes those ideas, throws them in the dumpster and says, "f*ck it, I guess we're fighting now."
While in the theater seeing this I asked my friend who's a Super-Man fan (I personally don't like the character as he's WAY to OP),
"Who are they burying?" -this was the funeral scene for Super-Man
"Super-Man" was his answer
"Who are the Kent's burying?"
"Clark Kent obviously"
"How?? They're the same person."

The military didn't bury anyone. It's an empty casket. The wooden one that's buried in Kanas is where Clark/Superman really is.
If the Military were informed of Superman's identity, I can see that being done out of respect.
Honestly however, I suspect Batman swapped Superman's body with an innocent civilian so the Clark's could have their son.

In the trailer it looked epic; in the movie it was pretty damn cringe worthy especially the fact that it was followed by "you will". It sounded pretty nasty TBH.

I hated that line. Superman flies off and Batman looks like a little kid saying, "No, you're a butthead."
Rather than Supe flying away, the B vs. S fight should have happened right then and there. Let them settle their differences earlier in the film (like Ironman vs Thor vs Cap scene in Avengers) and then have Lex and Doomsday pop up. The film would have better pacing and the plot would flow more naturally.
Props for giving Batman's brief fight scene some credit. Best part of the movie by far. And while adding a sin for Superman not throwing the spear is fair, I thought that should have been Wonder Woman's role. The one thing she has over Superman is no weakness to kryptonite; her taking up the spear would have shown functional teamwork and given her a reason to be there. That missed opportunity is worth at least five sins, I think.
Wonder Woman was busy with the lasso, so it's not a sin.
the biggest problem is Clark Kent a reporter doesn't know who Bruce Wayne is. Batman, a detective, doesn't know who Superman is. That should've been figured out within the first 20 minutes of the movie.

Now that I've watched Man of Steel my biggest complaint is that this, this is the direct sequel!
I did not love Man of Steel but in retrospect, it was way more enjoyable than Batman V Superman!

I mean if you think about EVERYTHING has some chance of happening however tiny. There is a tiny chance you COULD win the lotto, so does that mean you will win the lotto with absolute certainty and therefore should rely on winning the lotto? Let's say in the 1970s that the US believed that there was a 1% chance that Russia would launch all its nukes at the US within the next hour (for instance during the Cuban missile crisis). Should the US therefore launch all its own missiles at Russia because clearly a 1% chance is an absolute certainty? Logic is based on taking in the evidence and considering the consequences. If the US launches all its missiles at Russia then there is guaranteed certainty that Russia will launch all its nuclear missiles at the US but a 1% chance that Russia will launch its missiles means that Russia probably won't. So you are choosing between guaranteed annihilation and a 1% chance at annihilation. According to Batman's logic you have to choose the guaranteed annihilation everytime.
Batman treating something which is more likely to be false as if it should be guaranteed as being true is therefore illogical, irresponsible and evil given the implications of that decision. According to Batman we should never investigate any crime to make sure that an allegation isn't false. We should never avoid using military force, never diversify our portfolios, never should have gone to the moon, never should even risk getting out of bed because that tiny percent chance that something could go wrong GUARANTEES that it should be treated as absolutely going wrong.
GeorgeMonet a hostile Superman could spell the end for humanity. From Batman’s perspective in this scene, it’s uncertain what Supes’ intentions are. If further information demonstrates that there is indeed a small chance of Superman being hostile, Batman should treat it as a certainty.
4 scenarios:
A. Supes is not a threat, but Batman treats him as a foe, even though it’s still uncertain. Best case is Superman convinces Bats that he’s not a villain. Undesirable outcomes: Superman kills Batman and Batman is dead, or Batman kills Superman and may have to live with that for the rest of his life if he later finds out Supes was not maleficent.
B. Supes actually is hostile and Batman acts preemptively - this is the best chance at saving humanity.
C. Supes is not hostile and Batman chooses to do nothing - Batman likely has less intel than he would if he acted more aggressively, but the world is safe.
D. Supes is hostile and Batman does nothing: gg Earth.
1% is not minuscule, comparing the odds of winning the lotto to a 1% chance of humanity perishing was absurd. You can still argue that equating a 1% chance to acting as if it were undoubtedly true to be unwarranted, but I understand Batman’s sentiment of not wanting to run the small risk of extinction.
And Batman never said anything about getting out of bed or going to the moon or military strategy, and it was inappropriate to extrapolate that dialogue to those ideas.

The studio decided to cut those parts out of the movie for some reason. The original, full movie, as it came out in theaters, when you went to see it and payed money for it, wasn't the ultimate edition. You shouldn't have to pay extra money just to add material to the movie in order for it to make sense.
They removed those scenes because people nowadays can't sit through movies longer than 2 hours and 30 minutes and theaters wouldn't be able to have more showings

The "original, full movie" is the Ultimate Edition in this case, precisely because theater chain owners demand shorter runtimes for big blockbuster films to maximize showings and profits. The studios follow suit as it benefits their profits as well. Batman v Superman was a case of the original cut being trimmed and haphazardly edited, not a case of the final cut as decided by the filmmaker throwing in more scenes as a home video bonus.

Take out the desert scene, the courtroom, actually scrap the whole thing: Have lex come up with a plan to destroy half the planet, have batman want to kill him but superman saves his life, then have lex do something so dirty to batman that he blames superman for not letting him kill him in the first place. Replace all that courtroom mumble jumble with some of clark & lois together so we actually care about that relationship. Have wonder woman break up the fight at the end because she can. And save the villain and his death for another movie

What? Bruce didn't know Clark's identity, and even if he did, you can't chalk it up to, "Batman is the world's greatest detective, duh" because that's simply bad story-telling. Relying on that fact to make you believe in those logical gaps in the story doesn't allow for a coherent and believable plot. By the way, Batman got duped pretty hard in this film anyway, so he was in no way a good detective in this film. Everything he finds out about Superman and by extension, virtually everything he does in this film, aside from within the third act, was all deliberately planned by Luthor; batman just fell right into his trap the whole way through.

Introducing Doomsday in only the _second_ film in the DCEU is _way_ too early and should've been done further down the road for the films. Also, the villain should've been Metallo. Lex Luthor wants Superman dead because he's "too powerful", so when Batman fails to kill him, he creates Doomsday, who's like five times stronger than Superman. That makes no sense. Wouldn't it have made more sense if Luthor relied more on a human in a weaponized suit instead of making something even more powerful than Superman? The guy in the wheelchair-- hates Superman with a flaming passion, goes so far to team up with Lex Luthor to take him down? He'd become Metallo. Metallo would go mad with power, thus forcing Superman and Batman (and WW of course) to form an alliance of convenience, but this movie insists on going all the way just for the sake of cramming so much stuff, so it would catch up with Marvel.

The problem however, is that if Superman had said any other name but Martha, Batman would have killed him without hesitation, which he was actually going to do if Lois didn’t arrive just in time to tell him that Martha is the name of Superman’s mother.

Everyone with their "took us 4 years to try and justify this scene excuse" is pretty funny, as it holds up as well as a colander holds water. So once he learned superman had a mommy he decided to not kill him. The scene of batman having a flash back of his father saying martha after supes said it, then him crying asking why he said a specific name is totally misdirection. The scene and context are lies, as with no real mention of his hate of orphans batman decides to abandon a fight where he believes he's doing the right thing, because he has a mom. Cause you know Batman knows hundreds of thousands of aliens that have no moms and are terrible monsters. We all know bad guys don't have mommies. "He thought it was a trick" if superman could read his mind to know his mother's name is Martha to use as a trick then why did he get ambushed by batman? He legit could have seen his plan in his head. "Oh well superman did his research" yet batman "the greatest detective" could find out his name was Clark Kent, know that his only weakness is Kryptonite, and get some, but not know his mother's name is Martha who is still alive, and owns property. I know that defense was made recently. Who'd you Ctrl c Ctrl v that from? Maybe you aren't smart enough to understand the movie since you missed such obvious scenes.
